    everyone is for getting this is not a symphony, it is a film score, so it is not all about the music and how good it is (which it is) it is about how well the music accents and plays off of the movie.

    amazing. I'm an armature composer who started out 2 years ago, attempting to write mostly orchestral music, and its stuff like this that inspires me. I'm just trying to figure out how to even begin to get a sound even beginning to sound like that lol

    Great, in a movie or game it suites quite right because the images and sfx are the most important things these days. It will not be noticed by regular people who are watching a movie only the real music composers will say something about the composition. Here Maththew has a point.

    @raywong2 Strings come from Vienna Symphonic Library.. horns are already in logic, and also epic horns from vienna symphonic. Drums come mostly from EastWest's Stormdrum 2. For drums, I just EQ it to get the best sound. The pad assignment doesn't really matter.. I just used my keyboard. Thanks for listening!

    @rjk1482 Sample Libraries: Vienna Symphonic - Strings, Epic Horns -- East West: Stormdrum 2, Goliath -- Native Instruments: True Strike Tension, Evolve Mutations. You also hear the brass horn section from Logic Pro 8 itself. Logic Pro 8 is my Digital Audio Workstation or DAW. I didn't layer in this one, I just did octaves with some instruments to get a fuller sound. My computer is a mac desktop with 4 gigs of RAM. They Keyboard is an M-Audio Keystation Pro 88. It's made to trigger sounds.

    is that even possible? its like hes going a one man orchestra.

  • @Muzeishen
    @Muzeishen  13 років тому

    @volodian That's a great question. I'm the type of person that has to hear it in my head before I put it down. If I play around with chords and notes it could take hours to write. I don't write anything down. I can already hear it, so I play it out on my Midi keyboard with the various software instruments. So yes, music lives in my head until written in Logic Pro.

    @DV7Dave no question is stupid, I had to ask a lot of people and learn a lot to be able to produce what I am today. The answer to your question is yes, but it kind of works like this: You still have to have the expensive DAW like Logic Pro as well as the expensive samples like East West, Symphobia, and Vienna Symphonic. It may take you longer to input the musical information with a mouse and keyboard, but it is still doable. The point is, you still have to spend money to have a nice product

    Thank you so much for the benefit of your wisdom gained no doubt from years of experience slaving on sound stages against impossible deadlines, Spielberg shouting in your ear for changes as the bill for the Hollywood S.O. spirals out of control.
    I notice that you don't argue that it's generic though. The fact that he has some talent and still chooses this music by numbers approach is what makes this all the more depressing. Thank you for your kind welcome.
