You kind of convinced yourself to believe that. The video is just poking fun at the youtubers who make this kind of content because they all follow the same formula to maximize viewership and some of their tropes are dishonest and manipulative. This parody definitely makes one think of penguinz0. While I do enjoy some of his content, and believe it's good that he warns people about big scams and some of the dark stuff happening in online communities, the majority of his content is designed to make one angry/disappointed/sad at things that often have no relevance to one's life. Not only are these negative emotions addictive, they lead to having an increasingly cynical outlook on life. These two points are what make these channels so popular, and IMO it's unhealthy. Making fun of these things doesn't mean one agrees with the targets of these drama videos. But the fact that these drama youtubers sometimes talk about important subjects doesn't make them and their content immune to any kind of jokes or criticism either.

I remember hearing about him talk about a accident that happened in my area a few years back on the podcast, where two young guys had been street racing, one lost control and jumped an embankment, killing two young children. Charlie and the other three were talking about about the driver as if he had murdered those children (at one point one of them literally said "he should've been charged with murder") Meanwhile, this was around the time McAfee died, so they were talking about him alot. And I couldn't help but notice nearly all of it was positive, and anything negative was along the lines of "he sure was a wacky guy". McAfee almost certainly had his neighbors murdered and was credibly accused of rape.

Funny you say that, I kinda feel the same way. I don't storyboard any of my animation, I just play around with the camera in Blender until I find an angle I'm happy with, and it ended up being way spookier than I thought it would. I might do something in the future that isn't entirely ironic, because this was a lot of fun

It is! Fully 3D model with baked grease pencil outline. I delete frames where the model isn't actively moving to make it look more hand drawn, and all of the paper effect compositing is done in DaVinci Resolve. I'm sure I could figure out a way to do it in Blender, but it makes editing a lot easier to separate the character and background into their own layers . Big fan of your stuff too by the way, looking forward to see where you take it 👀

Critikal does not get enough criticism for someone who produces below average quality content with minimal effort. I don't think I'd hate him so much if he did something besides that and reaction content, but for someone who doesn't work hard on his content, has no notable talents or skills whatsoever, it pisses me off to see him spout basic opinions about every single bit of drama and to hear everyone say "yeah, you go charlie!!!" like he actually did something besides benefit from it. You probably put more effort into this two minutes of animation than he did collectively with his last month of uploads.
Fully agree with you about his reaction and drama videos. It’s just as bad as any other dramatuber’s garbage and it’s frustrating to see so many people treat it like it’s not. But he definitely does work hard at the other aspects of his channel. He started a pro-wrestling league and makes music with his band. He has multiple podcasts, an e-sports team, and he is currently writing two comic book series. Though his channel is full of low effort, time waster drama videos, I don’t think those are representative of how much he cares about his work overall.

I thought the lack of editing and dry reactions/sense of humor was an entertaining juxtaposition when he first became popular, (seeing as how by that time every other gameplay commentary channel was over the top with it's editing and reactions) but now I think he just kind of uses it as an excuse to keep his production quality and overall effort (at least with his videos) at a minimum, despite being one of the biggest youtubers on the platform. I used to like the guy, but now I hate seeing youtube cram his "This Situation is Crazy" videos down my throat. He's just stale bread for me at this point. Worse, he's hurting the platform more than helping it IMO.

I'm pretty sure I know the main inspiration for this video, and it definitely hurts more than a little how much I've seen from them up to even very recently. It's a shame, I think they can be really funny and entertaining, but I've definitely found myself more and more disappointed by their current form of content farming. I've watched some of them, but half of them I don't even finish, and those I do finish I feel like I've just wasted time. On the bright side, your animation and production design is killer, it's clear you've been working on these skills for a long time. I've been wanting to dig deeper into blender and making animations for my avatar, yet I haven't have the time or energy to dig into that software yet. Critikal does not get enough criticism for someone who produces below average quality content with minimal effort. I don't think I'd hate him so much if he did something besides that and reaction content, but for someone who doesn't work hard on his content, has no notable talents or skills whatsoever, it pisses me off to see him spout basic opinions about every single bit of drama and to hear everyone say "yeah, you go charlie!!!" like he actually did something besides benefit from it.
You probably put more effort into this two minutes of animation than he did collectively with his last month of uploads.
Fully agree with you about his reaction and drama videos. It’s just as bad as any other dramatuber’s garbage and it’s frustrating to see so many people treat it like it’s not. But he definitely does work hard at the other aspects of his channel. He started a pro-wrestling league and makes music with his band. He has multiple podcasts, an e-sports team, and he is currently writing two comic book series. Though his channel is full of low effort, time waster drama videos, I don’t think those are representative of how much he cares about his work overall.
@@meandartin1195 I appreciate the respectful corrections. I guess he does do some stuff. I knew about his music but I thought he quit doing that. I thought the lack of editing and dry reactions/sense of humor was an entertaining juxtaposition when he first became popular, (seeing as how by that time every other gameplay commentary channel was over the top with it's editing and reactions) but now I think he just kind of uses it as an excuse to keep his production quality and overall effort (at least with his videos) at a minimum, despite being one of the biggest youtubers on the platform. I used to like the guy, but now I hate seeing youtube cram his "This Situation is Crazy" videos down my throat. He's just stale bread for me at this point. Worse, he's hurting the platform more than helping it IMO.

I'm pretty sure I know the main inspiration for this video, and it definitely hurts more than a little how much I've seen from them up to even very recently. It's a shame, I think they can be really funny and entertaining, but I've definitely found myself more and more disappointed by their current form of content farming. I've watched some of them, but half of them I don't even finish, and those I do finish I feel like I've just wasted time.
On the bright side, your animation and production design is killer, it's clear you've been working on these skills for a long time. I've been wanting to dig deeper into blender and making animations for my avatar, yet I haven't have the time or energy to dig into that software yet. All of the videos I've seen from you so far have great comedic timing and structure to them, I'm excited to see more.
Either way, I think you've got it made, happy to have finally come across you. You've got a bright future ahead of you, I'm sure of it. That is, unless asparagus gets in the way...
