  • Sperm whales 🐋 are intelligent and social creatures. Here , a Sperm Whale is 'asking' diver for help as there is hook stuck in its mouth & let the diver help him(or her) out.
The brave diver does a fantastic job freeing Sperm Whale from hook.
Sperm whales are the largest tooth whales and apex apex predators of the Ocean in addition to Orca. However, they are gentle and prey mostly on squid deep down in Ocean.
With such a beautiful creature like Sperm whales and countless others,. My request is
Please DONT POLLUTE OCEAN in any way!
The diver name is Hugues Vitry, world famous Maurician environmentalist and underwater photographer.

Translation for those that don't speak French -
Pepe LePew - I saw this whale pass by me and was opening it's mouth like it was talking to me. It made a funny noise but just floated there looking at me. Cautiously, I went to rub it's nose and that's when I saw the line leading up to it's jaw. On closer inspection, I looked in it's mouth and noticed the hook lodged in there pretty good. The whale grunted at me and tried to pull the hook out but was afraid it might bite me. I was thinking, "This whale is probably trying to trick me so he can eat me." Anyway, I carefully yanked out the hook and I was relieved that he didn't try to bite. As he turned and exposed his backside I gave him a little nudge. The whale made another sound and it sounded like he was thanking me. He stayed a few more minutes and I kept giving him gentle rubs. He seemed to like it because I could see his eyeball following me. He left after a few minutes. So please be careful and help protect the seas by not throwing garbage away at sea.

I’m French, after taking the hook out he never mentioned being afraid of being bitten. At first he didn’t understand why she opened her mouth to them and he saw the hook, was a little hesitant because he had to yank pretty hard but once the hook was out the whale made a sound he thinks was her way of saying thank you. He then wanted to show her that her « hardship » was over and he « petted » her and came to her mouth and talked with her. But he didn’t think the whale was tricking them to then kill/bite and/or eat them.

They're named sperm whales because of the white sticky fluid that is build up in their head region when first discovered ot was mistaken for sperm and thus the name stuck. Yeah, but regarding the message at the end of the video, it is estimated that Western countries contribute combined less than 1% of total ocean plastic, with the vast majority coming from China and India, and the rest coming from Africa and South America. So the problem is the audience this is directed to are already doing a good job of waste management, and they are too afraid to call out those that are the problem out of fear of being called racist.

I was in SE Alaska from 80-94 working for a Large fish/shellfish processing Co. I was out on one of their Tenders as a Worker/Diver/Mechanic. One calm day a smaller Orca (Killer Whale) surfaced near the boat and followed us. It was clearly tangled in commercial fish netting, mostly around the tail. We stopped and I suited up for a dive. That creature let me cut all that netting free w/o panicking and did a couple of "drive by's" afterwards to either test his/her new freedoms or to say Thx. Orca's are thought to be smarter than Dolphins, and from what I've seen, that's probably True.

Suddenly crime went thru the roof w/ assaults, theft, robberies, stolen cars and even a murder. So anytime a company buying station or contracted fisherman needed a diver, they sent me out w/ the Co. Pilot in a small Cessna on floats. When a whale shows you it's belly, it's actually looking at you. They see better through their clicks that are bounced back and interpreted into a vision, as clear as a 4 or 5 D ultrasound. The sound is made with their gigantic oil filled heads, it bounces back and picked up by the whale's jaw bone. Sperm whales and dolphins show a special interest in our hands. While their size and way of communicating interests us, our hands interest them. So it doesn't surprise me that this whale knew humans have the right tool for removing hooks. Whales are brilliant creatures, but Sperm whales are especially so and have been trying to communicate with us since we began.

It is absolutely magical and would be available everywhere... but people litterally chose to rather kill them and use them for profit. No, not survival, not even to be comfortable, most is done for extra profit that has no reason behind it - But the funniest thing after all is, that the profit is made chasing happiness... which would have been provided if the person did not chase profit in the first place :D

Iron or even stainless steel hooks will rust fairly quickly. Anglers are often told it's better to cut the line if a fish is hooked deeply and you're not going to keep it. But they're starting to put anti-rust coats on saltwater hooks, which can be nice for the angler, but kind of screws over any fish that gets stuck with one of these and is cut off or breaks off. What really pisses me off is seeing people just cut the line on fish like sharks. You know where you're fishing and what you might catch. Long-handled pliers and bolt cutters are cheap and easy to get, so that you can remove the hook safely.

For highly sensitive people who feel a great connection to the earth and her kind gentle animals, seeing any kinds of hunting or killing of these creatures can feel painful. Whether done responsibly by one or many, there still is intense killing of animals done on the planet if you include the likely not kind harvesting of so many cows, chickens, turkeys, and pigs in mostly unregulated slaughterhouses. Sensitive people cannot stomach working a slaughterhouse so it is the insensitive men who are killing so many animals for us to eat. The earth as a whole feels it, as do the animals as a whole, as do we highly sensitive humans. If it were guaranteed that ALL slaughter of animals were done humanely and in a conservative manner, It might be a little better. But add in the insanity and greed of corporations who care only about bottom line and politicians who agree to bulldoze protected lands, not to mention that we still test the most gentle animals in harsh ways in laboratories (white rabbits, gentle beagle dogs, rats, even cats I have heard!) and there's no way someone like me will support even a few kind hunters.
Overall changes need to be made in the consciousness that suggests Man is the most highly intelligent and can dominate for his needs, as that consciousness has overrun and is decimating the planet in very unbalanced ways. It needs to balance with the gentleness of the yin energies and stop acting like it's the only thing that actually matters.

Your religion of earth worship is different than mine. I believe God created all things and the Bible says that He gave man dominion over all living things. Now how we exercise that dominion can be very different depending on which culture and what country you’re living in. As for animal testing, I’m not against it. Groups like PETA are out of control and should spend their $$ on a giant monument to all animals that have died at the hands of man! These screwballs have turned a blind eye to the huge differences between man and beast! There’s ZERO comparison! People that treat pets like people make me a bit nervous. I understand it but I don’t think it’s healthy. I also don’t like poachers or people that hurt animals to get their rocks off. That should make you feel better?
Before the industrialization of the world, not too long ago, most people either caught and killed their own food or they died! Especially in the regions where farming wasn’t possible. I lived on a small farm for a year when I was 15. It was quite a shock and not something I want to do again after being a city boy all my life! I would tell you how to dispatch and clean a rabbit or chicken but I don’t want to traumatize you! There was no humane machine to do it for me either!
We need to be thankful for those people that are willing to do the work you and I might find upsetting. But I’m NOT going to tell them how to do their jobs for the sake of better treatment of the animals I’m going to eat. Slaughtering animals is not done to purposely cause the animals pain and agony. I’m sure those men and women are desensitized to their messy work just like abortion doctors are desensitized to theirs! Even murders can get used to killing when they get paid good $$$!
Our planet isn’t going anywhere. I agree that man has been poor stewards of earth. Thankfully, since the 1970’s or so we have recognized that our natural resources need to be monitored closely. The US has done the most when it comes to keeping our planet healthy. Unfortunately we can’t control other countries from continuing to pollute the world’s oceans and atmosphere. The biggest offenders are China, Russia, India, Indonesia, Vietnam and others in that part of the world. They are the one’s who need to be pressured by the global community to at least get on board stopping pollution and start recycling!

Paul Watson said about his very first voyage with Greenpeace to protest whaling that he saw a huge bull sperm whale coming to the aid of a female which had just been shot by the whaler. Watson and a few others were in the Rubber boat, the bull stuck its head out of the water, looked at the Rubber Boat apparently recognized them as being the ones who sadly, unsuccessfully tried to keep the whaling boat from shooting and left them alone.
It's a tall tale but there's footage, the whole thing was filmed, the bull attacked the whaling ship but got shot too. That show of compassion was all there for the world to see, that bull gave its life but with his death he changed people's opinions on whales.

Here are two possible answers to this.

    2. There are healthy sperm whales recorded with no teeth at all. Infact, it is believed that Sperm whales don't need teeth at all.

I know it is a rhetorical question, but to answer it anyways, some people dislike videos UA-cam pushes really hard onto them, in order to tell youtube to stop doing that. There's no button for "This video is fine, but I don't want you to recommend more like it to me". This video is from two years ago, yet all the comments are this week. UA-cam is pushing it HARD onto people for some reason, and I fully expect some to dislike it just so it goes away from their recommendeds.
UA-cam needs a "not a bad video, just not interested" button available on their recommendations in a clear and obvious location.

The one concern I would have is the whale's clicks. Sperm whales are the loudest animals on the planet. Their more aggressive clicks could potentially do damage to human internal organs. But they seem to understand the power of their clicks, using them defensively against orcas, so maybe they understand the need to stay quiet around smaller benign creatures.

Wow! That was amazing! Sperm whales dive deep searching for giant squid to eat. That hook in her mouth would have made catching prey such a painful task. Bless you for helping this gentle giant. Sperm whales got a bad reputation for attacking whaling ships. Honestly can you blame them? Having a harpoon stuck in you & you're slowly being pulled in to your death! Who wouldn't fight back! This whale is gonna go back to her friends "hey ya know that damn hook I had stuck in my mouth? Well you're not gonna believe this!" 😊♥️🙏
