Crazy how our weather was bright and sunny a couple of days ago, then turns into THE MIST movie for a couple days!

The battlestar is such a cool plug!! Works great with my baitcaster caught 2 strippers the first day I used it!!

you should prob revise your perch pouch with an 18 inch or longer ruler maybe on the back and how you can utilize the flaps length as well. I dont know if the game wardens would be happy to see that i measured my barely legal striper on this. just some food for thought for the 3rd gen

I’ve used a double hub rig out in the surf before and it worked super well. Even changing the weight of either one can make a difference.

It was definitely a tough bite even with the plug

Try the 1/8oz chub color on a carolina rig. The chub looks like a sandcrab.

I love fishing in the heavy fog! The fish do not bite as well when the sun is hitting the water. (just my humble opinion) I think I would add a scent bait to those jerk baits. I have never caught a striper, I have a Seaswirl Striper, not the same. Striper is on my fish list along with pompano. It is always a good show Edward, thanks for sharing!

    Love it ‼️
You can literally dead stick the hookup baits… you were definitely working it too fast and in the surf minimum 3/4-1 ounce
One retrieval should take 2-3 minutes

Good points! I’ll keep trying. Took the owner of hookup baits out a few days ago and he got on his pb perch on one straight retrieve.

Still haven’t gotten to catch a stripped bass yet. Im using the right gear, retrieving several ways, going to spots where they are being caught, but no luck yet. I know I’ll get one some day but man sometimes it mentally gets to me only coming back with perch lol. This was good motivation for me again though!

I just finished going through this I finally caught my first couple of stripers from the surf using a Kastmaster and a battlestar plug. You need to stick to stuff people use around you in my case the battlestar plug worked amazing. You have to find beaches where you see other people catch fish and sometimes that means skunking but at least you know that they are there!! And lastly you need to learn how to identify holes or deep water. Sometimes it’s hard to differentiate the water I know it all looks the same!! but if you look hard enough you’ll see the holes!! Location is key!! Some get lucky but people like you and I will only see results if you put in the countless hours! I hated using plugs I hated how light they were and I hated how I couldn’t cast them far, once you start catching them and realize how ridiculously close these big fish are I promise you u will laugh ur but off!!

What size Van Staal are you using in this video?
I talked to you a while back about my VR50 having wobbling issues but I still love it 😊
And what rod would you match up with a VR50?
I really appreciate your input and I love all of your videos teaching people techniques and always giving information on new and different kinds of lures to use👍🏼
