Smart man with the plan in his blue hand Phoenix s glass weedless bad ass bass first class. Good fishing and equipment.
I fished this beach the last 3 mornings and have got skunked. This made me sick🦨🦨
This was last week. What were you throwing?
@@Hook2Cook 110s and 115s I’m getting a lot of Grass however so weedless may be the key I’m thinking…. Do You have better luck with the weighted hook or drop shot?
Weighted hook has landed more fish for me compared to the dropshot dropshot there
@@Hook2Cook that’s very helpful thank you sir! have you ever tried a Texas rig? I have weighted hooks however they aren’t the battlestar and are only 1/8 ounce. Im wondering if pairing that with a 3/4 Texas rig would do it??
@@Surf2TurfCaster we were using the 3/8oz… maybe ad a 1/4oz weight in front of your 1/8 hook
Crazy! Nice catches both of you!
Awesome video! I wish we had a chance to fish together when I was living in California, but grateful to have forged a true friendship with Vince during my time there. Can't wait to visit and hit the west coast sand again at some point!
Yea bro, sad we didn’t get to meet and fish together. One day for sure!
I’ve just been waiting for the day when I get to fish with Ilya again! We gotta get on some big fish together.
Bro cool video im from LA and was wondering what beach were you guys fishing? thank you so much for the tips
Nice, enjoyed the detail explanation!
Just caught my first Halibut on the new hooks. 3/8 with white fluke. It was a short but I'm stoked. I need to figure out something a little longer to apply with good action.
awesome video Edward. I used to float tube that Whole stretch of beach just maybe 10 yard off the shore, always had great Luck never got skunked. Glad to see they are still there.
wow nice video💖💝💗
Just came from your dropshot video from two years ago and am surprised to see a day old video on halibut again, subbed. Love Halis
What Beach is this? Where is it?
I wonder that too.
Ok dude, I’ve got to do some of this. Is this a seasonal window for halibut…..high or low tide matter?
This was an outgoing tide. It was also before a full moon. Depends on warmer water but I’m sure it warned by location. The water was in the mid 60s to get them to come this shallow
Do u need a different license to fish halibut around goleta Beach or just a regular fishing license? Thanks lol
Regular license with ocean enhancement to shore fish
Where was this?
New to this channel. Love it. What rod real combo are both of you using. Length ect. ???
I’m using a Daiwa North Coast MH 9’ with a Shimano Vanford 5000
Ed is using an Okuma Hawaiian Custom 10’7” with a Van Stall VR50B
30lb braid, 30lb leader. 😃
Now this pisses me off! I run all the way to the coke plant and get skunked and you guys take a nice little stroll down the beach and get 3 keepers. LOL Great job, as always fun to watch.
Oh no! Probably a different day 😜
Mira como lo ase en atena ok porke te
What Daiwa rod is he using??
its the diawa northcoast 9ft i believe
@@Hook2Cook awesome thanks!
What's the limit size of catching a halibut?
22”
@@Hook2CookCan you target halibut at any California beaches or only certain beach?
How do I get ahold of you? Native lompocian. I’m trying to make it legal for fishing at my surf beach again. Can you help me and my community, please?

Thankyou Edward!
Dume
where in california is forgiveness😊
Bro! Thank you thank you thank you for this video. You reminded me that I’m supposed to be on a hunt for my keeper halibut . I went to a few beaches and was full of seaweed
Berkeley fusion 19 weighted hooks and Big Hammer swim baits always Sauce it up! pro cure scents ..I’m in Southern Cali fish Longbeach to bolsa chica
Awesome video!! Loved to see you and Vince chatting it up and helping everyone!! Amazing insight. Such cool things happening with both of your channels. Keep on pumping these out guys! 👌👌
is this avila beach ?
Wack.. these guys only reply/like comments that don't ask where they are fishing.
Nailing them! Best to do it. Love seeing my Grandpa out fishing!
That was so cool with that impromptu session with Grampa.
What a cool dude.
Another great episode gentlemen. Keep up the great energy.
30in Ass Butt Hell Yeah......😎💯✌swin baits kick Ass Butt Big Time
what rod/line set up??
What beach is this? I want to try for halibut sso bad
Man, I wish I was there! Awesome episode as always bro.
Lol me to
Awesome, will you guys post the links to the rest of your gear? Thank you!
Can I ask you where’s the beach at😂
“20 & 8/10th”” very close
Can I attach the weighted hook with a technical snap or do you tie it directly to the line
@@OffroadLifestyle5thgen I use a snap to switch between the swimbait and jerkbait all the time. It’s fine
What beach is this?
Where are you fishing?
Great video….the info was awesome. Will be getting xls 3/8 once… any suggestions on larger sizes(hooks the same)? Based on wind or fish size? Also when will the new battlestar swimbait be available?
Great questions! We sold out of the 3/8 last night but got more in today. Go ahead an place that order, we’ll have em. The swimbaits look like September for the drop date. The 3/8 oz is the best all around- you can cast plenty far and can work it slow enough without just dragging on bottom. The 1/2 is nicer with more current. The 1/2 is barely heavier but you can tell.
Loved your halibut vid!!!
Great product!
What beach is this
Is this in socal
What size is your reel and rod length? I wanna set up a halibut combo. And you guys said 3/8 weight right? The waves in socal are crazy so would you suggest finding areas with more calm waters or just use heavier weights? Thank you in advance 🙏🏼
Find calmer water. Protected pockets and areas. For halibut fishing with swimbaits I really like my north coast MH 9’ or 9’6”.
@@VINCEGOESFISHING okay great thank you for the info!
Is low tide the best time to fish for halibut?
Yup 😊
Very impressed by your action this day. I cast for Halibut exclusively here in No. S.D. Co. Weed has been everywhere, worse than ever this season (April-August) so when I hear weedless I listen. My questions about your modified Texas rig. How does the 3/8 oz. weight plus swimbait cast compared to say a L.C.110 at 5/8 oz. I'm throwing on a 9' Lamiglas med.mod. with a nice spinner and distance is important to me. Does this hook come any heavier and do you think it would be as effective. With the early winds we get here I usually end up tossing 11/2 oz. dropshot or even a medium size Crocodile. I gotta cover a lot of water. Thanks. Please reply.
I can talk fishing and techniques and strategies all day just like you guys love every aspect of fishing ,: When I run into you guys every once in a while it’s always a blessing to fish with you guys. Stay salty my brothers. !! 🤙🏼🎣
LOL, we were all at Camp watching you guys pulling those Halibut in, I went home and stocked up on Surf Products 😂🤣😂, we need to go out sometime I have the 22' Striper and Lady Luck is Marty's Boat, that week I did get a 30 pound Sea Bass,,,, YaHoo... I was out there last week trying to get my sister a Halibut or Sea Bass, she just turned 81 and can out fish most fishermen, came in empty though.
Thanks for the tips, grass can be a pain when surf fishing. Looking forward to trying out the new Battlestar Hooks & Swim baits. Can you let us know where you are fishing? Just a general area would be great. Thanks, keep up the good work.
I’m taking the kids out here tomorrow and I’m gonna fish the same set up. Just picked up some BattleStar gear today 💪🏻
Hello I know this is an older video but love it and I was wondering what beach is this? Me and my cousin are trying to get into shore fishing in SoCal thanks!
What size is your van staal?
Vr75
What pound letter
30-40# bite leader
Do you have a store? Where is it?
Are these ribbed baits on the website in the video just as fat as the ones being shown in this video?
Yes
Have you guys ever experimented with a Tokyo rig for buts?
21 and 8/10ths?! What kind of tape measure are you using?!
Great Fishmomercial!
Killed it Edward! Educational and fun to watch as always brother! 👍🏽
Can you pls share the link to order the swim baits?
Thanks Edward for the live feed!!
Can everyone tell my the name for the beach????
Where you guys at?? Is that Coronado??
Great vid, what beach is that??
What blue rod is that?
Great video thanks for sharing
Hey guys I'm a local that has recently moved back to AG and have been watching you for awhile and I that I'm back id like to pick up some of the tackle is there a way to pick up instead of ordering online??
I’m in Santa Maria but based on scheduling and other commitments mailing it out is usually easier and faster. Usually 2 days or less
Great tips, thx Guys
Great video! Just ordered the battlestar weighted hook from your website. You didn't have the swimbait listed there though-where can I order those?
Awesome thank you! the swimbaits should be available mid to late september!
Love these collabs
And out of curiosity, what would the be compared to be newer versions? Like a 200 or a 150?
Look at the weights. The vr75 is under 10 oz. The bigger you go starts to add fatigue and the bigger spool might affect casting distance negatively. Unless you’re throwing big 3oz plugs the 75 is solid for most applications
1:02 Is your swim bait upside down???
Yup, when I have have busted all the ribs around the top side then I flip the bait 180 degrees and fish it upside down to access some fresh ribs 🙂
Another awesome video! Now I gotta order some hooks. What rod, reel and line are you using?
It’s the okuma Hawaiian custom 1007-2 1/2oz-2oz with a van staal vr75. 30lb test braid to 30# leader
Do I need a fishing license to fish on the beach?
Going to Pismo next week. Thanks 😃
If you’re over the age of 16 you do need a license
What is the best time of the year to catch halibut, surf fishing on the central coast?
It’s more of a water temp thing. Once the water is in the mid 60s that’s when
Nicely done video. 1) missed the link to partners YTube channel 2) what sized hooks are you using on the 4 &5 sized swim baits? Love the new setups !
Here ya go ;) www.youtube.com/@VINCEGOESFISHING
Hi Mark, that hook is the Battlestar XLS weighted swimbait hook. It is 5/0 size, works great with a 5” rib bait, and I usually prefer the 3/8oz. Sometimes I use the 1/4oz or 1/2oz.
What time is best to go for halibut? Low tide?
Generally yes. And warmer water 60s and above, are another goo indicator they’re near shore.
When will your jigs be available
Rib baits that is
@@leogetsome very soon stay tined
Looks like cherry Beach I know that mud anywhere! I’m probably wrong
3:00 @vincegoesfishing why you trying to play it so cool!!!!!
Lucky bite
So are you not able to cast too far then with 3/8oz? I typically use 3/4-1oz lead heads for swim baits and then drop shot with 1-2oz and worm hook, or ebi baitholder, gotta get a lil deeper in nor cal for the most part I guess? And yeah them white keitechs are great
How do we make a heavier Texas rig for casting further like 2-3oz
@@Morgancj 2-3oz…. are you fishin 100 feet deep?
@@Hook2Cook I just never catch anything up close
@@Hook2Cook I’ve fished all the public beaches , Long Beach jetties , Oxnard jetties , Ventura beaches. Mostly with a dropper loop mainly with a 3oz with a fluke. Haven’t had any luck
@@Morgancj lighter weight gives a more natural presentation. Don’t worry, the fish are closer than you think. Caught not only the fish in this video but another 30” right at the shore line. Worry more about your presentation rather than distance with unnatural presentation
@@Hook2Cook I guess I keep trying to fish like the Australians who can catch tuna and yellowtail from the rocks… we aren’t that blessed .. gonna try some light weedless set ups and see what happens.
