Why I like Dieter: He's mature. He doesn't shout. He doesn't start each video with "What's up, guys?" After all that, the fact that he gives good info is a bonus.
Dieter, I love your channel, but I have 1 request: When you catch decent sized blue, can you give more details about the environment you caught them in? Depth, temp, etc. - just a few more technical detail in other words. Less experienced trophy fisherman like me could use that to set patterns throughout the year. Thanks man.
Oklahoma skunkings continue. Fished 10 hours yesterday all over the lake end to end. Caught 2 small blues and 1 small channel. Unfortunately we provably have 2 or 3 more weeks. At least.
Fished lake Bridgeport here in Texas on Saturday 6/29, using chicken breast. We SLAYED them, fishing from the bank, consistently pulled in fish for about 3 hours in the afternoon. Filled a cooler full of eaters and went home!
Not so much where I am. I went Friday morning then again in the late afternoon and did not catch a single catfish. I did catch a 35 pound gar. While fun to catch, that wasn't what I was after. Even shrimp didn't entice them. This weekend is too hot to be fishing, so I plan to wait another week or 2.
I’m up In Pennsylvania I fish the Delaware River and the bite had been terrible hoping it picks up soon I been trying to go out once a week to see if picked up but no luck might try tonight
Back home in Belmont Ohio the local lakes n Ohio River like fishing in a bath tub😢. I tried my luck last night in Sandusky up by Port Clinton Ohio n bite was on. Not as fast n furious like April May but caught catfish between 2lbs - 12lbs. Out about 5 hrs. Mostly males n handful small females. Didn’t see any huge ones caught. I did lose one thinking pushing 20lbs. Good sign for back home😅
We are about 2 weeks or so into spawn, but are trouble is rain. Minnesota and Wisconsin got heavy rains causing the Rock River to rise 3 ft or so then the level will go down an right back up. My neighbor went out yesterday an told me stay home, the current moving along heavier, big trees have pilled up on the docks wing damn again.
Seen the last videos man honestly I’ve been killing it the last month in the heat. Night fishing with live baits. 20 lb flat, 36 lb flat, 30 lb blue, and several other blue and channels in the teens. But I guess it comes down to your location and when and how you catfish. ✌🏼
@@DieterMelhorn I fish from dark to about 11 or 12. So generally In about three hours a night I’m getting 3-5 fish roughly but usually decent size more of quality than quantity. Love the videos
@@Catfishbilly96 Ya , that’s what consider a slow bite. A fish an hour is on the slow side here. Two an hour about average. Anything above that is golden. All fisheries are different though…
@@DieterMelhorn yeah but I’m also bank fishing with just two rods on a small, shallow section of river some would even consider a creek just from its size not a boat in deep water on a lake. So really not bad considering all conditions
I caught my largest ever channel catfish the other night at just over twenty-three pounds on shrimp from shore. The next night all I caught were bullheads
@@DieterMelhorn man, I said the same thing, until I saw a guy at a pond one day had a 10+ lb channel cat on Magic bait dough ball, smells like a cow pie. He tried to flip it over the dock and lost it, but that changed my mind on stink baits. After experimenting with a few Ive settled on Berkley Powerbait catfish bait, it stinks but not nearly as much some others and catches bigguns, at least the Cut Shad flavor does
I’m in Texas and went 3 nights in a row same spot. Changed different baits all 3 nights Perch Mullet Shad Caught 2 soft tail turtles The struggle is real Boss Man😂😂
Hello your one of my favorite catfishing youtubers.I seen a video you did on paylakes a while back I paylake fish for carp and also wild water fish.I would love to pick your brain on some of my opinions on the good side of paylakes that people really don't think about.
When you release the fish ... Do you think it swims back to it's buddies and tries to explain that it was just abducted by aliens, while all his buddies are laughing at him ? Just a thought 🤔 .... 😂😂
Great video as always. Since this was about mating season you should have had a Bikini Babe on board (Like Dave did)(not Dave in a Bikini 😮) Gotta get that sub count over 100k somehow 😊
To me, and a lot of other people out there including a lot of my female viewers, there is something creepy about an old man putting a woman in scantily clad clothing on the boat to get views. Not to mention, I have a lot of kids that watch my channel, and like it or not, we as known UA-camrs are role models to these kids. I'd rather use my time to educate them in a postivie way.

Well, thanks…but I do have my uniqueness that can be annoying…😜😆

The good news is the usefull infomation I discuss in between fish. Thanks a lot for watching and I will try to add more of those details.
Thank God. I was starting to think the fish god's were angry with me 🤣.

Shrimp is a killer bait, did you use fresh or stinking?
Fresh...I'm not a fan of anything rotten

Thanks for watching!! I've tried to throw out some of the positives in some other videos on the topic.
Northeast Kansas cats are back to biting again. Phew...
Do you think rattles work say in lakes without current or very little ? Love the channel
Only when drifting / trolling / dragging....they may actually spook fish in water that is not moving....
@@DieterMelhornok thank you didn’t know if they would help if using live bait
What would you say is the best right now for drifting or while anchored up
Drifting unless you know area fish are holding…
Thanks for the update and views 🇺🇲🇺🇦
