Yup I noticed that in the first jam. He is showing support and encouragement and is playing in a supportive pocket rather than show boating. These are signs of seasoned professional musician and a humble and nice human being. The good Captain shows how Petes influence has rubbed off on him in his nice supportive bass playing as well.
Josh and Nick both have a similar understanding of under playing and supporting the piece of music being played. Both are very good musicians and I enjoy their show for both the informative information and the fantastic, creative jams that they perform to show gear working in real band contexts. They also make me piss my pants with laughter regularly, which is much needed in these troubled times.

LOL- I like Josh myself and he's a really good guitarist but you need to watch this show more often- they've had guitarists on here that Josh can't even get close to- and I'm sure he'd be the first to admit that. Tommy Emanuel has done this show man- the guy wrote and performed Classical Gas. Marty Freidman and Steve Vai have done the show. Rabea Massad is a regular on here- one of the best guitarists currently playing. Imo Pete is a better guitarist than Josh as well- and he's on almost every show. Josh is great but you guys chap your lips on his ass to the point it gets nauseating to listen to and just sounds silly. Brag on him for what he deserves to be bragged on for- his pedals and his personality- at least then you won't sound delusional.
If you want to point out a truly exceptional musician on Josh's show- it's Nick imo. Not only is he one of the best drummers I've heard, but he also writes truly good material for both the show, in the form of skits and so forth, and songs he put son Spotify- and he plays multiple instruments. I wouldn't say he's amazing on guitar or bass but he's damn solid- and when you couple that with his exceptional drumming and ability to write- Nick would be a tremendously valuable asset to any band. So would Josh or anyone else on the show- excluding those that don't play- but especially Nick. Good drummers are rare birds, if you can get one that has all these other talents- you're way ahead.

I love Josh's playing and the JHS Show Jams are awesome. Josh Scott's music is modern day Captain Beefheart, but with niceness replacing the nastiness.

omg thanks josh for not having the same old bluesy dadrock-jam in this show. I love that hes obviously into more "modern" styles of music. (no offense to dadrockers pete and lee)

Between the JHS pedal show, THE (that) pedal show, Andertons, Wampler Pedals, & the rest of these shows about pedals... 1) I'm learning so much about this crunchy foot candy I step on to make my guitar sound like bees & 2) I'm broke. Sooooooooooo...... Thank you?

Josh has the most British sense of humour, I've seen in an American national
and seems to get the dryness, and blank expression we are used to, in the UK
and Nick is so understated and funny
