I got the Head Boom MP just after Thanksgiving 2023. Was easy getting used to the way it handles. Good control , moderate power, good at slice shots & bold graphics.
Yes it's very easy to swing. Rather powerful in my opinion. In my review I was coming back from injury so I did not have crazy power but it's easy to play.
You make one of the best reviews! Especially to compare the powerlevels of different rackets is very helpful. Maybe you can think about making same with spinlevel... Many thanks! Thumbs up!
Welcome back! Personally I wouldn't mind to just see english subtitles that are not auto-translations in your french videos too! Love hearing your opinion in either language
Thank you for your message. I think it would take more time to write english subtitles than to make the video in english. I'll think about the idea though.
JP Your review is excellent. I am still waiting to get my hand on those but have been doing research in the mean time. I am also a pro tennis coach, with over 30 years experience up to high level, perhaps older than you , been using Gravity MP since its inception.... Looking forward to a little more power with boom MP. Can't wait 🤣
Indeed you'll have more power with the Boom MP, with the same shape for the frame, top spin friendly and forgiving. Keep me informed if you want, when you can play with it. Here's my email : contact@team-tennis.fr
Your reviews are truly excellent. As your level of tennis is very high, any racquet you play with actually seems perfect. The way you explain and compare about power levels between racquets is indeed very helpful. I am quite keen on the Boom MP but I wonder about the launch angle as the string pattern seem quite open. How would you compare the level of arm comfort between the Boom MP and Clash 100 V2?
Great review, so I tried it after watching your review and you are spot on for power and spin. I think I may switch to this as my new Ezone 100 2022 has too much power for me and BOOM MP seems to have better control like Ezone DR 100 but is softer on the arm.
We missed your reviews. What is your racquet of choice ? Also string and tension ? I play with Wilson blade 98s V5….. can’t find anything better in feel :)
Thank you. Currently I'm searching for a new racquet. I don't want the Clash 100 anymore. I could switch back to a 98 frame ; head extreme tour, yonex ezone 98, babolat pure aero vs, head prestige S or MP, I'd like to test that !
@@team-tennisenglish1514 extreme tour still is not the best to me in terms of free power. I need more. Spin was excellent but it still needed full swing for depth. Current ezone 98 like current v core 98 are muted because of VDM. Hopefully new ezone 98 will be better in terms of ball connection cause the new VDM implementation on VCP 97 2021 was very good…. feel and ball connection came back. Alive again. But yonex still has not produced an excellent stick since DR line or previous VC95 2019 model…. new VCP95 21 is harsh. I suggest you try PA VS with a soft poly at 22kg….. it may still be hollow on contact but it almost does everything more than good. It has nothing in common with previous PAVS which was an uncontrollable cannon. Prestige MP too demanding….. even less power and spin from Blade V7/V8 18x20. I suggest you test v8 blade 16x19….. very easy to swing they dropped the SWs…. more free power than V7 but it lacks punch because of the low SW. It needs lead. V8 feels like a 98inch pro staff. I am still waiting to see the new strikes when they will be released…… 3rd gen has bad ball connection…. they were plush and less harsh than 2nd gen bur ball feedback was bad.
@@team-tennisenglish1514 I noticed that the Dunlop CX 200 (305g) is almost the same spec as the Head Extreme Tour (98, 65 flex, 31.5 balance), just it has a flat 21.5mm beam, rather than the 22-23-21. You may want to add that to your list. Very nice neutral feel and good maneouvrability. Probably best with a hybrid string-bed like Alu-Power x Sensation to add a bit of power.
Bonjour JP, always going back to your chanel because of the excellent reviews. Thinking of switching from my shift 300 to the boom mp or the boom pro. Also the aero 98 is a competitor. Which racket are you playing atm? How is your shoulder doing? Recently I have also shoulder problems and might need an operation too.
Hey ! Shoulder fine, I don't regret the surgery, in fact it allowed me to play again. If you have shoulder problems, go for comfort and easy power, easy to swing. Boom MP is fine, Yonex Vcore 100, Shift is fine also, Head Speed MP, Yonex Percept 100. Boom Pro yes but more demanding.
@@team-tennisenglish1514 glad the surgery went well. Thank you for the recommendations. I'm about to test the vcore 100 and 95 right now and hope it suits my OHB
I had the info of 69 given by Babolat. The value can be less for a strung racquet, depending also how it is measured. There are various ways to measure it.
Great to have you back, Jean Pierre… Really enjoy your reviews; I am also impressed with your ball striking ability. Maybe you should go back to the Prince Tour 100P🎾🎾🎾
Hi, thanks a lot for the review. I am a tennis beginner, playing for four months. I am currently using Wilson Clash. The more I play, the softer I feel about Clash. I don't know whether this feeling is correct or not: it is easier to add spin with a stiffer racket. Clash is my first racket. I am thinking about buying a stiffer racket than Clash to practice spin. Please correct me if I was wrong. And the recommendation to a second rocket is welcome.
Hi ! Honestly, not sure if stiffer is better or not for top spin. The head extreme mp is not stiff but has a good access to top spin, Pure Drive is stiff and has a good access to spin also. Consider the string pattern, the space between the strings. Boom MP why not, Head Extreme, Babolat Pure Aero, Yonex VCore are other options.
Great reviews! Very informative and helpful and to the point "type of player" suggestions! Just subscribed! Q: Is there any racket(s) you would recommend to early intermediate players for easy and powerful volleys and smashes? Keep up the great work, thank you!!
Thank you ! For me the serve and the groundstrokes are more important for the feelings than volleys. You can look for a powerful racquet but it depends on the weight you can play with. Babolat Pure Drive, Head Extreme MP, Yonex EZone 100, Willson Burn,...
Haven't tried the ezone 98 2022 but I'm sure it'll be less powerful, forgiving and the access to top spin will be lower. Ezone 98 for better players able to manage a heavier racquet.
I want to make another video on the court, next saturday. I'm also going to write an article on a website I want to make in english at team-tennis.net. I'll mention it in my review. I alreay have a clear opinion of the racquet.
@@TheodorosKolokotronis799 Not easy because it depends if you can play up to 310 grams. If so you can get more power from the Boom, which has more weight and will give more plow through. The Extreme seems hollow compared to it. But if you feel better with the weight of the extreme, you'll swing it faster and finally you'll get more power with it. I personnaly hesisate. If I'm in a good shape, Boom Pro clearly. Boom Pro extremely comfortable, special feeling with this racquet. At the same time, I don't think it is too muted and the feel remains fine. I really like the Boom Pro. I just wonder if can manage the weight on the long term.
Love your reviews. Thanks for again adding them in English!

Glad you are back man..I missed your videos.
I'm back ! 🙂
I like the way you add the review captions over the video. Appreciate in English. Great review. useful. Thanks!
Welcome back JP! Hope you recovered well from your injury.

Great review!! Your forehand is incredible!! Greetings from Argentina!
Thanks ! The forehand is not my best shot, I don't feel it that well, the backhand is my best shot 🙂
Viva la France!! Noice review, just picked mine up, and love it so far
Thank you :) Yes the Boom MP is rather versatile, it's going to fit many players game.

Hi ! I'd like a smaller frame
Thanks for being back with reviews. Would you please review 2021 Head Radical MP too.
Yes I want to test it.
great review man...would you prefere it over the speed mp?
Thank you, the boom mp is nice but too light for me, except if I'm tired of if I don't play much. Well trained, I need 300 or 305 g.
Nice detailed review ! I got the demo now ,which is your opinion at the net , volleys and smash compared to Pure drive ? Thanks
Love your reviews. Keep them coming. Why did you switch from the clash 100?
Thank you. For the Clash, I find it too light and maybe I'd like a smaller frame for more manoeuvrability for my backhand.
Tested this. It’s more powerful than vcore 98l. It felt plush. But too much power for my style of play
Yes more powerful than most 98 frames

Great review! just a question. how you compare this head with the Clash 100 v1?
Clash 100 more comfortable, a bit easier to swing, more flexible. Power not very far.

I'm getting a strong hint from you and other reviewers that the choice of the name 'Boom' was a bit of a mistake for this mid-powered racket!
Well, it makes boom, but not so easely 🙂
How would you say it compares to the VCore 100?
Lighter, less stable, easier to swing, power close, maybe a bit more power for the vcore
