It depends on the platform and also it's probably one of the worst rated, some others might have the same rating but maybe this movie was on the very end of the list or something
There’s definitely worse movies, this is just on rotten tomatoes. I might be wrong, but I’m pretty sure they only review big studio produced movies. There’s a lot more on IMDB, and a lot worse there, too.

"Fun" fact, one of the actors from this movie, Johnny Lewis, was a Scientologist who murdered his landlord and her cat, then was found dead in her driveway.
Also to add a bit more context to this story (especially cause he seems like a monster the way you told it), the reason why Lewis killed bis landlord, her cat and then himself was due to severe head injuries he recieved from a motor cycle crash, after these injuries he became mentally ill and showed bizzare behaviour. He got into a fight with two men and also tried to break into a womans house, he was sent to jail in 2012, in jail his mental health deteriorated even further. The tragic events that you talked about happened one day after he was released from jail. I think Lewis story is extremely sad, to me he was always a victim himself, he did something horrible but I doubt that it was really him doing these things, his head trauma should have been treated and he should have been sent to psychiatric hospital not to jail, maybe things would have turned out differently.
The mom was the one leaving the voicemails, to try and warn the people of her daughter's impending attack. Freeing her soul was sweet, but left people with no warning. But, she saved the main character, because she set her soul free. I like the Japanese version. It's weirder, but better weirdness...lol
LMAOOOO News reporter: "Hey, you're the girl who's friends keep dying because of phone calls right? Alright then take this phone for no reason, I'm sure you'll be fine" Idk if my guy just cares about his job or if he's just stupid as heck.
So fun fact this movie was based off of a Japanese movie and they decided to take it and take a huge shot on it. So for anyone interested the original story goes like this. So there was a girl who was just bullied and brought so far to the edge she killed her self and now her spirit want revenge on her classmates. So from here it's a similar concept plus some creepy text messages however the interesting twist is if they forward the message to somebody in their class then that person will die in their place
I don’t watch horror movies, but scary stories, theories , and urban legends . The story u mention is based on Japanese urban legends called Hikiko-San. Hikiko was a normal girl, except her parents mistreated her, giving her deformities that caused her to be bullied. The teachers never intervened. The short version says she just killed herself, but the longer version says that one day after school she saw a stray kitten. She started taking care of the kitten, and the bullies noticed her to be very happy all of a sudden. So one day after school they followed her and discovered the kitten. After school the next day Hikiko went to feed the kitten but found a note from the bullies that read: “If you ever want to see your little kitten again, come to the teacher parking lot.” Hikiko listened to the letter and went to the teacher parking lot and discovered the kitten tied up to a car. The teacher who owned the car didn’t notice and was about to get in, when Hikiko jumped to the kitten and curled around it to protect it. The teacher still didn’t notice and drove several kilometers before realizing what was happening. The kitten was fine because Hikiko protected it with her own body, but sadly Hikiko died. In this version it’s said the bullies are found dead the next day. Regardless of the version you go by, now Hikiko will kill school students if they’re bullies, in the most merciless ways.
Which originated with Mimiko’s backstory as she died of an asthma attack… the funny thing is I’ve never had an asthma attack and I have asthma myself lmao
I know this movie sucks and is bad and genuinely not really interesting, but I watched this movie three times in as many days as like a ten year old and that shit FUCKED me up. Couldn’t watch any horror movies for YEARS because of how much this movie scared me. Now that I love horror movies again and have it as one of my favourite genres, One Missed Call has made a special place for itself in my childhood memories, mostly because I remember how much it scared me and now I look back on it fondly, even if it is shit. I also need to clarify that there is no way in hell I would watch this movie again. Watching these reviews gives me good memories of that time and makes me giggle, but if i rewatched the movie myself and realized how much my childhood brain overhyped it I feel like it would ruin the movie for me without a doubt.
The movie that absolutely TERRIFIED and traumatized me as a 12 year old was The Grudge 3 so, I feel you on this one. Not just The Grudge, but The Grudge THREE. Still holds a special place in my heart though despite the fact I now know it wasn't even a good sequel, let alone horror movie in general.
@Black Ninja A premise can be the weirdest and most outregeous out there, but with the right film making and acting can become great entertainment. That's the difference between some of the horrible western adaptations of japanese/korean media. They don't really "get" the originals.
I almost forgot about this movie. Then I heard the ringtone and it brought back the memories. I remember when people from school had that as their ringtone lol.
I remember walking past the case for this film in Blockbuster as a kid. Always wondered what it was about, the cover stuck with me, but I was never bothered to look it up.
Imagine dying, thinking you would finally be free from your mortal shell, but nope, asthma is apparently part of the soul, not a physiological condition.
I remember when this came out, it was so goofy and so funny but we all liked the ringtone noise and thought it sounded nice and creepy and we all had it as our text noise or ringtone for a while and it would freak strangers out lol. Another good terrible film is Drag Me To Hell.
Bro, I had this as my ringtone too back then 😂😂😂. It randomly went off in class once (we were really quiet and doing our work), and the entire class got spooked lol.
I have a friend who's used the ringtone from this movie as their ringtone... probably since the movie came out lol. And the best part is I'm pretty sure she never even actually watched the movie, I'm legitimately unsure why she decided to do this and hasn't changed it to this day. But it's great whenever we're hanging out with someone who's never heard her phone ring before, because everyone always has the same reaction: they know they know it from SOMEWHERE because they saw the trailers for the movie when it came out and it buried itself in their subconscious, but they can't put their finger on what the hell they know it from and it drives them crazy.
Here I am casually watching UA-cam. The into : " hello James. Don't think I've forgotten about you James. " My infant son who just recently learned his name : " 👀 "

It depends on the platform and also it's probably one of the worst rated, some others might have the same rating but maybe this movie was on the very end of the list or something

The severed arm of the girl struck by the train, that dials on its own the number of the next victim, is in the original movie too, but the scene is shot better than the American version
So the one thing I thought was cool was taken. Makes more sense.
The entire original version is better imo. The only downside I can remember about the original is maybe how some things were over exaggerated but then again, I haven't watched in years so it could be better or worse

"Fun" fact, one of the actors from this movie, Johnny Lewis, was a Scientologist who murdered his landlord and her cat, then was found dead in her driveway.
big bruh moment
He was not really a Scientologist, he left Scientology in his early 20's

So fun fact this movie was based off of a Japanese movie and they decided to take it and take a huge shot on it. So for anyone interested the original story goes like this. So there was a girl who was just bullied and brought so far to the edge she killed her self and now her spirit want revenge on her classmates. So from here it's a similar concept plus some creepy text messages however the interesting twist is if they forward the message to somebody in their class then that person will die in their place
that is the third movies plot of the series tho
@@SanKomikoLuzifer oh I thought it was the first eh either way it's better than this garbage
@@SanKomikoLuzifer there's three?!
After school the next day Hikiko went to feed the kitten but found a note from the bullies that read:
“If you ever want to see your little kitten again, come to the teacher parking lot.”
Hikiko listened to the letter and went to the teacher parking lot and discovered the kitten tied up to a car.
