Just barely though, this was the closest they have ever been! Water isn't usually counted, so technically it's three; sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

@sailormoonrox1 a thumbs up just for your YT handle alone, my friend 👍
Yeah, so I make meringue cookies all the time and it’s very similar. Egg whites, sugar, cream of tartar (if you live somewhere with higher humidity it’s basically necessary, I’ve heard it can be omitted if you have a copper bowl), and whatever flavor you want. Vanilla is best.
And then you bake it for an hour at a low temp (225 F I think), shut the oven off and then let it set for two. They should be crispy. If it’s super humid outside, you may need to bake them for longer and they’ll stay a bit tacky feeling.
They’re good, and I promise you that they’re better as crunchy cookies than a soft jelly-like mass in a Bundt pan
(EDIT: adding tips here; you start adding sugar gradually once the whites are at the foamy stage, the eggs should be at room temp too.) Meringue cookies, despite all that sugar, are extremely low calorie because it’s mostly air. It’s like 20 calories for one the size of a palm.
This recipe REALLY has 4 ingredients!!!
1. Sugar
2. Water
3. Egg whites
4. Vanilla essence

Well ingredients are items that go *into* a recipe. From your calculations, might as well add the cake pan and the baking pan and the stove and the spatula, 2 glass bowls, mixer and an apron.
Just eat a bowl of sugar, it's easier and same result.

When I make flan, I don't caramelize the sugar. I put the sugar on the bottom of the pan. It will melt and caramelize when it's in the oven. The water heats up the sugar less messy.
It's missing salt, to cut sweetness on your palette as in making it taste more balanced and it stabilizes the whipped egg whites holding it's consistency.
That's a myth. It doesn't really do much at all just makes it taste weird
When I went to culinary college for baking and pastry arts we were taught that salt accentuates sweetness
Oh my...I totally missed the part where u said salt stabilizes egg whites...if u can get that to work good for u but I would whole heartedly disagree
Maybe he meant to sprinkle on top before serving, but use the larger sea salt granules?? (like starbucks on the fancy drinks)
Totally agree, I had a cake shop and there is no cake, pastry or dessert that does not have a pinch of salt in it in my recipes. As for the egg whites, either a pinch of cream of tartar or a drop of white vinegar as soon as they become frothy, will ensure the maximum volume and firmness you can ever achieve.

This is a Portuguese desert called Molotof, its usually made on easter and its super light and sweet so its a great desert after a big easter lunch.

@@fshs1949 Clever.
Well, when you're an intelligent person with just a tiny bit of cooking skills xou should know that herbs, spices, salt sugar and even water doesn't really count as an ingridient. Only for selling anything edible these have to be mentioned since usually these are basics everyone regularly has at home .

How many eggs? You only say eggs in your recipe.
How many you want. The rule is one egg white for 1 spoon of sugar and for each egg white 1 minute in the oven so if you make with 10 egg whites you add 10 spoons of sugar and cook for 10 minutes in the oven. Just make sure that the sugar is dissolved and you can't feel it in the meringue.
