Kind of like the music in this game, a short 11-minute video about an obscure japanese mahjong N64 game has absolutely no business being this good, but it is.

The people skipping over the Japanese exclusive videos are missing out. For whatever bizarre reason, they tend to be some of the most interesting playthroughs to watch in this challenge.
@@supersexysadie I think part of it is the novelty of (most people) seeing these exposed to them, let alone played, for the first time. As well as sharing that novelty and excitement with such an enjoyable streamer. So many streamers seem to rely on being loud or outrageous instead of just being a cool and fun/funny person to "be around". I'm so glad I found this guy's channel.
I'm loving all Thabeast721's comments section memes, and I mean all of them. The twist is "the heck is that!?" will never get old.
I give them 3/10 for difficulty and 10/10 for enjoyability.

Those are south winds (南), but it still works cause your seat is also south. East winds are 東
I was going to comment this but wanted to see if anyone else had already done so. I was also about to say that it wouldn't matter that it's his seat wind since his hand is closed, but that would only work if he called Riichi which for some reason he did not

At 5:26 Thab mistakes his wind tiles for East instead of South. Learning the tiles is one huge part of how difficult this game is :)
Yeah, hes done 3 of the 7 mahjong games on n64 already where he is so he knows that stuff by now, these videos are about 40 games behind his stream.

Can't lie, I watch them when I have the time, but I often just skip to the end to see how long it took to get through. This is one of those that I feel the need to say, "well done", as watching and saying so has taken unequivocally more substantial time to make than to digest it.

It’s not really possible for that to happen if you stay at the high rollers building. The other players just randomly pick one to play at

Holy crap, I hate Mahjong mini games in other games I play. I couldn't imagine playing Mahjong 64 for 26 hours. I applaud Thab's dedication to completing this challenge. If I ever made an attempt, it would end the first time I roll a Mahjong game.

Any recommendations for someone who's wanted to learn to play Mahjong? I'd love a basic tutorial to get me started, and then maybe some playlist or something of videos with cool tips once I get a feel for the basics.
Mahjong Soul is a popular online mahjong game that has a wonderful tutorial, intuitive UI, and nice atmosphere in general. It's how I learned after limping my way through the Yakuza 0 mahjong system and I now play regularly

I believe you exclusively play as Buzz. I played it also as a kid and it's one of those licensed games that has no business being as good as it is.
