Croatia has pretty much always been an amazing soccer country since they officially became a country. They made the semi finals in 98 I think and made the World Cup final in 2018.. pretty impressive for a country that’s smaller then most major cities in other countries

I recall Fifa getting caught using nearly identical games 2 years in a row later on in the newer consoles. They know how fanatical soccer fans are about playing and don't give 2 craps if it's the same game
The n64 is such a historical console. There are full blown playthroughs that take countless hours and have amazing replay value, then there are more arcade derived titles like this, where you can beat it faster than you will get bored of playing
This was one of my first n64 games! I stole it from blockbuster in my overall pouch pocket as a 5 year old. When I first got it I knew none of the rules and was so stoked to score my first goal. Lo and behold it was in my own net… Thanks for the nostalgia rush Thab
my n64 got surged when I was a little kid, and I had to send the unit back to nintendo for repair. N64 thunderstorms are the worst. When playing burnout 2 though, I swear a thunderstorm would pop up at the end of every other race in the set of 4.
Best N64 Football (Im British :)) game on N64 is the World Soccer France '98 one. EA didn't have the world cup license in Japan so Konami grabbed it for their game. It was released as ISS 98 in the west i believe.

soccer rules are pretty easy to grasp, basically, the main one that people get confused is the one where a player isnt allowed to pass the ball to a companion, if there are no opposite player aside from the goalie between that companion and the goal line at the moment of the pass(its a vertical line going from side to side that is easier to notice now since modern fields have 2-tone grass for that purpose, and its only for the moment the ball leaves the player, not when the other receives it).
Or shoot. You're talking about offsides. It's... It's not that offsides *as a concept* is hard to grasp, it's that during a game *at speed* it's absurdly difficult to be accurate when a foot (well, I think it's a shoulder, technically, by body part) is the difference between a goal or offsides.

That baseball game was 1 of my fav games growing up. It was so fun playing home run derby with all the steroid erra players. Kens hit box was massive in this game lol.

One of the mysteries of my life will be why of all the hours of Simpsons, and 90s tv in general, why oh why, did that scene with Skinner and Chalmers doing a parody of a scene from a 70's tv show become such a cultural phenomenon? It's a great ep. Great scene. I'm not mad about it, just so so confused. Why that one? Anyway, loving this series!
Some people getting on their high horse here just because they know something about a sport thats featured here for once. Im European myself so Football is very much a hobby of mine but that doesnt mean someone from half a world away has to know something about a Sport they dont follow and that doesnt make them "the dumb ignorant american" its just something everyone cares about.

I don't know when you will get to International Super Star Soccer 2000, but when you do, play the european version, so you get to enjoy the career/visual novel mode.
This is one of very few sports games I played on N64. I thought it was cool that it supported Dolby Surround Sound. Renting this game helped cement my dislike for sports games, with the exception of golf games.
There are only a few sports games I enjoy… NES blades of steel NES Golf N64 Mario Tennis Wii bowling And side games (fishing in rdr2/ocarina if time, golf in gta online) Would definitely have a hard time buying a sports game, especially from EA this day in age!
@@AgentXRifle I should probably say I don't like "realistic sports games." The more absurd and less connected to reality, the more fun they are to me. Wii Sports is also fun and holds up. I also do appreciate your point about side games in bigger games. They are fun distractions. GTA has some great ones. I also love the minigames in the Yakuza series. I am still getting into Yakuza, but I have loved everything I have played so far in that series.

There’s a rare occurrence where the last player in the opposing team isn’t the keeper, and passing to teammate in front is still an offside.
