GROUP MUSIC THERAPY - ADDRESSING PLAY AND SOCIAL SKILLS

We’d like to introduce you to our music therapy groups - we have a number of them and this one is run on Saturdays and comprises children aged around 6 to 8 years old. This group targets play and social skills - so important in any child’s development. We work on goals such as: regulation skills, controlling impulses, developing listening skills and the ability to follow directions, leadership skills, developing confidence in social settings, working as a team, waiting, turn-taking and joint play. The best part of it is the children really enjoy themselves while working hard on these developmental goals.

No, it's not. It's the use of music within a therapeutic relationship to accomplish goals related to health, both mental and physical, and well-being. What you're thinking of sounds like maybe sound therapy, which is cool too, but Music Therapy is exactly what you saw above.
