Awesome guide, Shvok! Thank you for making it for everyone. I'm having a heck of a time trying to decide on audio hardware for my dual PC setup. I'm sick of voicemeeter, built-in headset mic, and "gamer" software/drivers conflicting with windows updates. I see a lot of folks online talk trash about Mackie, but your audio sounds great. Your mixer looks huge, I would need a smaller one because of limited desk space and budget. Probably the bare minimum for dual PC, and a max of two mics. Looking forward to the revised version! Edit: Push to Talk. My dog likes to bark a lot. Would enabling push to talk on discord/obs be an option with a setup like this?
Glad I could help. I've always used both Mackie and Yamaha. Both are excellent. The one I'd stay away from is Behringer the audio channels like to die for no reason on those. As for a smaller mixer, yeah as I said in the video, you don't need a 16 channel like what I have, you will be fine with a ProFX12 v3 or MG12XU. Just don't get the 10 channel versions because the routing you need for doing the mix-minus setup I detail in this video isn't in the 10 channels. I have links to both mixers in the description.
@@Shvok hello, ive been looking everywhere and cant seem to find a solution. all of my audio comes thru my mic when i have my aux dials turned up. if i wanted to get mic audio to my game and stream pc, once l turn up the aux knob, all my audio (music videos etc) all play thru my mic. i cant fix this pls any help, thx much for ur time.
@@920AL There is a lot of missing info here. How are all the cables hooked up? What mixer are you using? What are your windows default sounds settings?
can you give us a link to a cable: ts to dual female ts? I just cant find it, not on amazon or other shops. thx u so much. your videos helps a lot. keep up the work👍👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks! This is been helpfull, but I dont get it. Why I need this "ground loop"? I have a simpler mixer (behringer QX1002USB) and in this device AUX has only RCA connectors. Am I still need to use this loop device or I can buy just a cable RCA -> 3.5mm Jack and this would be enough?
@@Shvok I got you. Actually my mixer doesnt has AUX it is 2-Track OUT. Not sure it would work. I am actually surprised how it is not simple with "basic" mixers. Now I realise why you need device with 16, 24 or more channels, there you have more functionality.
Can you elaborate on how you then use your headset? I have the DT990s myself and have a separate DAC system. Do you just plug your headphones right into the "phones" port on your mixer?
so for the USB audio out from the back of the Mackie, does that go into your gaming PC, or Streaming PC? wasnt sure if you used it or not? thank you for the very helpful video!
@@Shvok ok! I'm thinkinh about buying a mixer for my two pc's. One is for games and discord and stuff, the other is for work. Would it be posible to get audio and mic on both pc's simultaniously and one at the time by doing what you did in the video? I'm considering the Xenyx 802usb or Xenyx 302usb. Are any of these better than the other for my use case? Thanks for a great video!
Can u do a video on how to set up Astro a40 mixamp to dual Pc setup for stream labs or obs to stream on twitch where console ppl can hear you and you hear them normal cause that’s where I have an issue discord ppl I hear them normal and console ppl preferably PlayStation I hear them weird and loud and they can’t hear me but my stream hears me . This is the only issue I have with my dual Pc setup trying to stream on twitch I can’t get that original chat sound for console sounds amplified need help
If I had an Astro a40 mixamp to test with I certainly would. From what I was able to find on it so far it doesn't look like it had the routing capability. Are you using the STREAM port to route signal you the stream PC? To get mic signal routed you might have to get a 3.5mm trs splitter. But again I'm not sure since I don't actually have one. From what I have see in the documentation it has a toggle switch between PC and console, and a button that uses either presets, or allows you to manually adjust the mix. I'd say maybe try playing with that and the audio settings in their software. This is why I tend not to like devices like that and stuck to analog audio. Software routing can be wonky.
It absolutely is. In stead of using the USB connection to bring the mixed audio back into the stream PC, you would just another 1/4inch unbalanced to 3.5mm balanced cable and run that from the main mix (or whatever the label for the model of the mixer) and into the "line-in" on the stream PC. Then set OBS to listen to the line-in for main audio.
@@Shvok that's what I figured. I've got it up and running (have static as I wait for my ground loop noise insulators and extra cables). Out of all the setup videos I have seen, you broke it down barney style (which is what I needed since I was overthrowing everything.) Really appreciate it
No, the USB mixers like the one in the video have one "built in", the USB cable bring the main mix out of the mixer and into the stream PC. I need to reshoot this video. I missed some details.

You might want to get the ground-loop isolator just in case you get that electrical buzzing/popping in the line.

Is there a way to use this setup with a usb mic such as a yeti?
No, it will only work if you get the XLR version of the Yeti

Yeah the USB from the Mackie goes into the back of the streaming PC. I need to re-shoot this video soon and clean it up.
