wild methane production from animal farming is actually one of the biggest causes to incremental warming of weather; in addition to the large amount of carbon footprint humans have made. Plastics are killing plankton, which in return is killing the fish population. Not in far northern reaches like that, but more towards the equator this is a huge problem. Planting trees where it makes sense could help, but won't be near enough. One tries to offer up a solution, but it's not easy with differing opinions and no general consensus for change. Anyways, may god bless the polar bears :( they be my favorite animal and also one of the more critically endangered.
Why does this make me feel sad? 🥺 Meat-eaters tho they are, these beautiful, magnificent creatures are just trying to survive. I mean look at what we humans do to survive. We ravage Earth. Ravage without care for consequence or any compassion for future descendants... So badly do we ravage, that all those bleak predictions of a dystopian future by great visionaries, is feeling like it’s only just around the corner. 😕 Gotta hand it to us, we’re the most selfishly proliferating creatures on the planet... May we learn fast, grow fast and change our ways fast. 🙏🏻🤞 Thanks BBC Earth for the work you do. I hope it spreads awareness.
genes survive by being selfish, and humans are no different. these same thoughts you expressed in your comment, are partly why i became Christian as an adult. religious doctrines that promote humility and loving others (even enemies) as much as your selfish genes love you is our only hope of avoiding 1984/Brave New World scenarios.
"All other species of bears eat mostly plants and insects" Whoever does your research deserves a raise... not because they know their head from their ass, because they obviously don't, but because they fooled their moronic bosses into thinking they do. You ever hear of a Kodiak? Any idea what they eat? How about Pacific grizzlies? I hate when so-called experts don't bother to do even the most basic research.
Though Kodiak bears are often touted as the world's largest land carnivore (meat eaters), they are really omnivores (using a variety of foods). They actually spend more time eating grass, plants and berries than meat. Grizzlies: They feed on salmon (can eat 200 salmon a day), carrion, trout, small rodents, insects, berries, leaves and roots. Plants are 80 to 90 percent of their diet. In autumn, a grizzly can eat 200,000 berries in one day, but during the salmon run salmon become about 95 percent of their diet. I hate when so called youtube experts think before they type.

"they spend majority of time on it, whether otters who dive and fish then rest on logs, like seals rest on rocks, or polar bears who hunt on ICE and LIVE ON ICE throughout MAJORITY of the year, and only go inland when there is NO ICE, or to go to the den for cubs." - Addressed these points too. You admit that bears don't spend the majority of their time in water so we are done here.
Please try harder next time.
1:46 so what if that didn't scare him off?
They'd have to shoot it. Everyone in their area is required to carry a rifle for that reason.
@wolf in the wild An injured predator is still an injured predator, whether or not they may have a different style of hunting than others. And to make matters worse, it's bitterly cold both on the surface and underwater, so exposed flesh would compromise any hunting.
Michael Rodriguez so educated in answering the question incorrectly! Wow
Shoot to kill.
If you gotta shoot a polar bear, it should only be if you have to kill it not to injure it.
they will kill the poor thing with a rifle they are authorized carrying one
This was an elaborate plot to see if Bears can ride snow scooters.
"Yall got a permit?"
Truly majestic animal… from a distance.
Polar bears do not mess around. Humans are definitely on the menu.
He is so beautiful ma Shaa Allah
Why is that bear so cute

Polar Bear says "Hey can you guys give me a lift to a fish market"? Oh ok maybe next time.
It is a quite high risk to be attacked by the bear. Imagine what would happen if your equipment failed.
That’s why stay strapped

Any animal who poses even a miniscule threat to the near-invincible cameraman should be rightfully feared and respected
"But I just wanted to ask you the time. Jeez."
1000 metres is too close to a polar bear
So basically this is 'beary' dangerous clip of the crew., 😁
*First shot of intimidating big polar bear*
Subtitles: a big confident beer
Humans: getting away
Bear: what did I do??
Lmao
Absurdly stupid risk to take. And clearly weren’t as prepared as they should have been
save world ! plant tree and prevent marine pollution
İnsan Evladı plant a tree in the arctic?
@@sina7306 No, put it in the ground, man.
@wolf in the wild Though,..plastic Has reached the arctic sadly😕.
wild methane production from animal farming is actually one of the biggest causes to incremental warming of weather; in addition to the large amount of carbon footprint humans have made.
I'm going to have a green burial myself ⚰️.
1:10 “hey were are you going... I havent eat yet!!!”
The bear appeared to be more curious than it was hungry. If it was truly hungry, I felt like it would've continued moving in at 1:12.
Beautiful bear
cute bear 😳😯
He's a great actor
That was insane and very dangerous. Polar bear should’ve known never to approach a British man that close!
Don't run! Come back! I give bear hugs.
Imagine if another bear came behind them
Nothing personal kid
Glad your snowmobile started
Dramatic music like this was a horror movie was not needed, but otherwise nice clip
it is actually getting colder there, not warmer and there are living more than ever before in known time.
Proof?
it's just so cute 💗
Go give it a hug
it kill you
He’s so cute! 🐻❄️
Why does this make me feel sad? 🥺
Meat-eaters tho they are, these beautiful, magnificent creatures are just trying to survive. I mean look at what we humans do to survive. We ravage Earth. Ravage without care for consequence or any compassion for future descendants... So badly do we ravage, that all those bleak predictions of a dystopian future by great visionaries, is feeling like it’s only just around the corner. 😕
Gotta hand it to us, we’re the most selfishly proliferating creatures on the planet... May we learn fast, grow fast and change our ways fast. 🙏🏻🤞
Thanks BBC Earth for the work you do.

"All other species of bears eat mostly plants and insects"
Whoever does your research deserves a raise... not because they know their head from their ass, because they obviously don't, but because they fooled their moronic bosses into thinking they do. You ever hear of a Kodiak? Any idea what they eat? How about Pacific grizzlies? I hate when so-called experts don't bother to do even the most basic research.
For real, I heard that and was like wtf?
Though Kodiak bears are often touted as the world's largest land carnivore (meat eaters), they are really omnivores (using a variety of foods). They actually spend more time eating grass, plants and berries than meat.
Grizzlies:
They feed on salmon (can eat 200 salmon a day), carrion, trout, small rodents, insects, berries, leaves and roots. Plants are 80 to 90 percent of their diet. In autumn, a grizzly can eat 200,000 berries in one day, but during the salmon run salmon become about 95 percent of their diet.
I hate when so called youtube experts think before they type.
Bears eat a lot of plants.
These are the people I want delivering my news
Harassing a polar bear. Nice. Leave the bear alone. You’re in his backyard and an irritant. 🐻
What are you talking about? I hope you don't watch documentaries...
Adam Monks I’ve been face to face with a bear in the Wild. Unarmed. I doubt you have.
@@billyrock8305 beside the point. Now answer the question.
