One of the very few people I've ever seen understand animal behavior. He walked toward the bear. Used the correct breaking rapport tone in this voice and stood erect. Many many animal signals happen before an attack and this guy knew what he was doing.
I was whale watching one time and an orca/killer whale dove into the air and killed a seal right in front of us, its liked the whale sucked the insides out because all the skin came floating to the top with all the blood.

Polar bears are huge carnivores and perfectly adapted to their rigid habitat, they have more muscle and strength than you might think and seeing two males fighting means witnessing a clash between giants. in fighting polar bears stand on their hind legs and push each other trying to bring down their opponent and use their powerful jaws to block each other. So if he has the opponent's head in his mouth he knows that he will not be able to use his jaws on him and this is the benefit of their great intelligence.
