I also check other video lessons here on UA-cam about learning modes, but nothing feels like home with Tomo's perfect advice on how to think about the right notes by basically moving slowly but surely. All scales on 1 string. That's simple but a great tool for deeper understanding!

Don't practice with backing tracks! That could satisfy you fast but cannot improve your true playing ability! Practice more rhythm guitar!

I never try Dorian or any other mode in linear way. If I'm gonna play C Dorian I just play B flat major scale in the box position but that is shallow playing. This lesson is eye opener, thanks master 👍...!

I play a lot in A minor and Am natural is the C scale (A,B,C,D,E,F,G) and for Dorian you hit F# instead of F. So that's basically it, that's Dorian. The Am to Dm progression becomes Am to D. Not so much of a minor blues sound but jazzier rock sound, I guess.
Think more intervals! ...b3 b6 b7... or b3..b7... Learn more triads!

めちゃくちゃカッコいいですね！ドリアンって奥が深いですね！ドリアンに限ったことではないですがスケールってコードに対しての度数とかを把握しておかなきゃダメだとトモ先生の自由な（知性と感性が上手く同居した）プレイを聴いて改めて思いました！１ノート、２ノート、３ノートと言うのもすごく参考になりました。それに対してメジャーマイナーと解説もしてくれて凄く分かりやすくて本当に嬉しいです！
ジャズ！といったところは半音上のペンタ？なのでしょうがその中にも基本のコードに対するテンションが含まれてるんでしょうね。（これは課題、宿題！^^;）
ドリアンについてはマイルスのSo Whatを聴いて自分なりに研究はしたことありますが今思えば研究ってほどのことはしてなくて度数とかその中に存在する様々なトライアドとか理解できずに弾いてました。せいぜい６ｔｈの音が理解できていただけでそれ以外の部分は疎かにしてました。（他のスケールも同様で・・・）
今は初心というより童心に戻ってギターに携わってるのでCのトライアドの練習をしてても楽しいです。生まれてはじめてコードを覚えたときのような感情が湧いてくるんです！学ぶって楽しいですね！
僕は物覚えが悪いですが上達するのに時間がかかっても嘆かず諦めずゆっくり焦らず慌てず無理をせず（努力はする！）に練習、勉強をしたいと思います！いつも素晴らしい内容の動画投稿感謝感謝です！ありがとうございました！

I am new to guitar. Typically how many years of practice does it need to be able to understand this lesson and then play this.
A few years? Maybe faster you can achieve it! If you study proper way
