Wait for Night was the album that "Jessica" came from. It was realized in 1976, and it's first single "Take A Hand" was getting some decent airplay on the radio when the record company that Rick was signed to at the time folded and so the proposed tour was unable to continue after a few shows because there was no money to back it. This album holds special meaning for me because I received my signed copy directly from Rick when it first came out. I'd been a fan of his since 1972, and I entered a magazine contest to win a call from him, and I won. During the call, Rick talked about how he was in the studio recording WFN and said he'd send me a copy when it was finished. He kept his word, and I spent the summer of 76 wearing out this terrific album on my turntable. I would have to wait 5 more years, with the release of Working Class Dog, to get to see him perform live in concert at Great Adventure in New Jersey in September of 1981. Since then, I have spent many, many enjoyable hours engaged in the many talents (songwriting, singer, musician, actor, author) of this incredible man.
@@KatraPlessure Stacy C. Hollander(curator at American Folk Art Museum) is the real Jessie's Girl named after Gary Hollander(he died a few years ago) and she is really a nice loving person that even I could have fallen in love with and resembles nothing like the depiction of in the song Jessie's Girl. She is found online and you can find photos of her and on youtube videos who gives lectures especially on quilts and although I never met her in person, my mother used to take me to quilt shows.
I was six years old. Omg, this song is as good now as it was then. Although I don't remember it from then. Lol However, i'm gonna say that's true whether I was there or not. Lol I love the song, but watching him sing it is literally breathtake.
This was a great album. Rick was my first concert in June 1983 at the meadowlands in Nj during the living in Oz tour. I still have the shirt from the concert and when I met him and his band back stage in 2004 he signed the living in Oz program as well as his band. If anyone’s interested I am selling one of his crew members jumpsuit on eBay from the living in Oz tour. If you look up Rick Springfield jumpsuit it should pop up. It’s kind of costly but at least u can take a look at it.
Yes, Awesome. So talented - I remember being 8 years old and seeing this on TV. Can't thank you enough for posting all the rare Rick Springfield clips. I'm sure many other RS fans also appreciate your efforts -You a awesome !!!

You're a lady of the world, you've been to Paris and London
But Jessie, it doesn't mean a thing to you when you're lonely
Though you'd have to have a heart of stone
to put me on my knees
I know you ain't got it
I'm gonna get to you no matter what you do
Oh, Jessica, you're a lady
If it takes all night you're gonna be nice
Oh, Jessica, I think lady
That sold, hard front could melt like ice
Jessica, Jessica, Jessica, Jessica
Cold like a killer's eyes
Stay with me Jessica
Jessica, you're a lady
Jessica, you're a lady
Jessica, Jessica, oh
Jessica, you're a lady
Take me home in your big black car
Oh Jessica, I think lady
You're not as hard as they think you are
Jessica, Jessica, Jessica, Jessica
Fire up your cold heart
And stay with me, Jessica
Stay with me, Jessica
Stay with me, Jessica
Jessica, you're a lady
Jessica, you're a lady
Jessica, Jessica
wow, he's got that baby soft hair, just gorgeous huh?

Wait For The Night was the last great album by Rick Springfield. After that, his music went downhill.
