Update: There are reports that the rumble pack vibration isn't working in S mode for some games. If you are having this issue, you may want to experiment with different combinations of settings both on the wheel and in game. The wheel seems to not be fully supported in some cases, and may be reason to consider finding an alternative. I'd still say it's a good choice for the price range, but if you are serious about getting into racing / driving simulation, you should consider investing in a wheel with force feedback (not the same as vibration).
@@tommyp614 Hey! Sorry for the late reply! Unfortunately the sim wheel market is really expensive right now, and the holidays have just made it worse. You could potentially find a HORI Apex / Overdrive for between 80 - 100 USD. These wheels are great for super casual play! I believe the GT Driving Force has force-feedback and a 900 degree wheel rotation though, so the HORI might feel like a big step down. I picked up a Logitech G29 (comparable to the GT Driving Force) for 200$ used (a month or so ago) and have been loving it. hello i've been playing f1 with this steering wheel and i've noticed that sometimes the car downshifts when i don't downshift myself. I tried the command and this problem no longer happens can you help me?
I like the wheel itself but the pedals are terrible... they're in such a weird angle that you cant use them while being at a desk in my opinion. U have to really lay down, to not break your left foot
I've been looking at getting a wheel ever since I got American Truck Simulator about a week ago. Everything here sounds nice but it still feels like it is quite a bit on the expensive side for my taste. I'm playing the game with a controller now and it works find but I still get some rather jerky movement that I'm not that happy with. I'm not looking for anything fancy, I use automatic transmission so I don't care about shifting, and honestly I don't even care that much about having nice pedals. All I really am looking for is something that will turn smoother than the controller does. Don't suppose anyone here as any experience with wheels cheaper than this Hori wheel? Good or bad I'd like to hear anything people have to say. If I don't find a cheaper option than this wheel then I don't know if I will bother with a wheel at all honestly.
Unfortunately the entire sim wheel market is really expensive right now. You might want to look around at some used options, I got a used Logitech and haven't had any issues with it yet.
If you re still looking there is a spirit of gamer one for about 70$ i think . You might want to look it up i didnt try it so i dont know much other thzn it s price .
Cheapest thing to do would be search used in your area. I picked up an old ps3 GameStop steering wheel that I've tested and also works on PC. Cost me a whole $10 😂
I decided to buy this one as my first racing wheel and maybe, if I like it very much, sell it for about 70% of the original price to buy myself the Logitech G29.
So, what did you do . I m undecided if i should get this new for 450dt ( 150$ ) or the used g29 for 780dt ( 250$ ) . I dont play racing games that much i just hop into open worldracing games and drive i liked forza horizon 5 aloot which made me wanna buy a wheel . But my racibg fans friend tells me it s useless to get one without force feedback .
Hey, I want one I saw a guy selling one for 38 euros and ima really scared to buy it as he said that the wheel doesn't respond when he put a USB in it on a windows 10 pc but he doesn't own a ps4 so he doesn't know if it works on it what should I do? I have a ps4 pro idk what to do
Thank you for this video! I'm seriously considering the xbox version for forza horizon and maybe motorsport, think I will buy it and then if I really get into it i'll switch to the upper price range!
@@woooshh7553 I agree that it's worth the upgrade to force feedback. However, a cheap beater wheel isn't bad to start off on, especially if you don't end up playing a lot. Also, if you start with a cheaper wheel then upgrade, you can keep the spare around for playing with friends. All things to consider
hello everyone! i’ve been saving for a wheel for a long long time, and i am almost there to have the money to buy this particular wheel. I’ve wanted the wheel to play F1 2022 whoever i didn’t find any comment on F1 2022 with this wheel. I’m not looking for anything too professional, i just want to play with a little bit more realism and add more fun to the game that e love the most. Can please someone tell me if this is a good wheel for F1 game?? thanks a lot
just buy a g25/g27, they're 20 bucks more then this, aren't of very bad quality, plus you get force feedback, a clutch and a shifter. it's not the best force feedback but it's pretty good, I've used it before. However, due to the age of them, after intensive and long gaming sessions. there's a chance a chip will short out. it's what happened to my brother's old one a few years ago, this isn't very common though
Not sure where the fuck you got that information, but no one and I repeat “no one” is selling a g27 for $120. Amazon has it for $400. Can’t find a used one anywhere online. At least not one for a reasonable price.
Good Video. But if you invest 120 bucks more (i know its hard smt) you got something with FFB But i think for beginners/arcarde racing guys this is the perfekt wheel
I completely agree, I could never go back after getting used to FFB. I see them as serving two different needs though, like you said the hori is fine for some arcade type games. I could also see using it with some retro console emulators or something along those lines.
hey good stuff. just 1 question. i am playing GRAN TORISMO SPORT. I am up to GR2 professional races. I have come in 1st place 4 times already without a PlayStation wheel. do u think that it is possible to win races that are pretty tough with this HORI APEX WHEEL? the problem is my hands get tired. I HAD A STROKE 6 YEARS AGO & MY LEFT HAND IS ALWAYS NUMB, WEAK, GETS TIRED EASILY. especially from races with many hard turns. so can any1 tell me if i can beat fast cars on tracks that are not easy. all these cars i am racing are fast but i have 2 of the best one's in my garage. but like i said, I ALREADY WON 4. THEN FINISHED 2ND, 3RD IN ANOTHER. but they are difficult. PLEASE ANY INFORMATION WILL HELP. BY THE WAY I USE THE CONTRILER TO STEER AS OF NOW. almost left that out. peace out
Yep my thoughts exactly. You wouldn't have both standardly. But this isn't clearly a FULL sim authentic experience anyway. That is not the market for this wheel. This is for casual-enthusiasts. For me I got this wheel not because of budget (I could easily afford the $300+ wheels) but because they just want a step up from using a controller. I don't want to feel like I am fully driving a real car as I already drive plenty in real life and so this is a way to not have to tire my fingers out holding down acceleration buttons over the course of long races. I would rather use foot pedals for that.
Good review. I'm wanting a wheel that's quiet. But I like PC sims. I have a PS5 as well but game's seem to be better. I would like a ffb one but I think it might be too noisy as a game in the living room.
FFB can be quite loud so I don't blame you! The hori is pretty quiet, especially if you turn off vibration in the game you're playing. It will make more noise than a regular controller, hard / fast shifting gets pretty loud, but you could just opt to drive automatics when you need to be incognito. If FFB is within your budget, you could get a wheel that supports it, but turn off the FFB when you need to be quiet also.
@@ZerumTV Can you fully turn ffb off. As that would be great. Do the wheels make a noise while turning. I was considering the G29 but I've seen reviews on it being noisy. I could use ffb when in by myself and turn it off when the TV is on.
FFB can usually be disabled in the game settings, but check to make sure the game you're playing has that option (most pc sims should). I have a G29 and I've never noticed it to be particularly loud, but spirited driving certainly wont be silent. Really enjoy the wheel overall.
@@ZerumTV it's worrying to spend so much money without trying it out. I can only go on UA-cam video's. I have considered the Hori wheel as I know it's cheap and cheerful. But it might give me a taste of what using a wheel is like. But not sure about those for PC game's
@@Bikertyke id recommend something like the thrustmaster tx, its an insanely good wheel, i know its quite a bit more expensive but its worth every penny, and since its not a geared motor in the wheelbase its not nearly as loud as a g29 Im new to sim racing and the TX has been an amazing wheel choice for sure 👍
Ive been so confuced for ages with one setting where you can either have 180 degree rotation of the wheel or 270 but i cant seem to change to 270 does anyone know?
If you hold down assign and L2 it should switch back to 270, it will light up green for a few seconds to indicate that it worked. Hopefully that sorts it out for you.
The wheel stuff is in a weird place. It's either "buy this $100 wheel to goof around with in games" or "buy this $600 wheel to race seriously. It feels like there's no middle ground wheels anymore. Nothing for like $200 that's really a serious wheel with good stuff but less "feedback" I guess. Unfortunate.
Some people have reported that happening, not sure if it's a faulty wheel or something game specific. Check if there's any software updates for the wheel as well. You could potentially use it on the "-n" mode instead, but you will probably need to turn up sensitivity greatly either in-game, on the wheel, or both. Hope you're able to find a solution.

Is this something that only works for play stations? I want to use it on a windows computer.
Is there any drivers for this wheel? Because i can't use all of the buttons. PC reads this wheel as Xbox controller
I'm trying to decide whether to get this wheel or the newer version of it. Anyone know of any benefits of getting the newer one over the older one?
I ordered the Xbox version of this wheel but do I need an adapter to put it in my USB input
So if i sometime play euro truck simulator 2, f1 not pro, and sometime any racing games not pro games the wheel is good for me?
Hey, I want one I saw a guy selling one for 38 euros and ima really scared to buy it as he said that the wheel doesn't respond when he put a USB in it on a windows 10 pc but he doesn't own a ps4 so he doesn't know if it works on it what should I do? I have a ps4 pro idk what to do
Thank you for this video!
I'm seriously considering the xbox version for forza horizon and maybe motorsport, think I will buy it and then if I really get into it i'll switch to the upper price range!
You can better save up for one with force feedback
@@woooshh7553 I agree that it's worth the upgrade to force feedback. However, a cheap beater wheel isn't bad to start off on, especially if you don't end up playing a lot. Also, if you start with a cheaper wheel then upgrade, you can keep the spare around for playing with friends. All things to consider
does it works with forza horizon 5
on the pc
@@Ya-pp9rn yess indeed
Has anyone used this wheel on need for speed heat that will be my primary racing game for the time being
Why when I flick my to ps4 -s the ps4 say it can’t find a controller
What is the best deadzone and sensitivity for f1 2021
Should I bye this for a game called bus simulator 21?
Could I add an external manual shifter
3:06 gg
The only thing for that wheel is that it's not compatible with all games
hello everyone! i’ve been saving for a wheel for a long long time, and i am almost there to have the money to buy this particular wheel. I’ve wanted the wheel to play F1 2022 whoever i didn’t find any comment on F1 2022 with this wheel. I’m not looking for anything too professional, i just want to play with a little bit more realism and add more fun to the game that e love the most. Can please someone tell me if this is a good wheel for F1 game?? thanks a lot
can you play other racing games on it
For someone who is too young to drive and is looking for something cheap and fun, would you recommend this?
yes when i didnt have my license yet i used to use this wheel lmaoo but the pedals are really from real life
just buy a g25/g27, they're 20 bucks more then this, aren't of very bad quality, plus you get force feedback, a clutch and a shifter. it's not the best force feedback but it's pretty good, I've used it before. However, due to the age of them, after intensive and long gaming sessions. there's a chance a chip will short out. it's what happened to my brother's old one a few years ago, this isn't very common though
probably is better but I can't find a single site that sells them
Anywhere that isnt in europe/US, the prices are waaay higher for those wheels, and you cannot find anything in the local market.
Not sure where the fuck you got that information, but no one and I repeat “no one” is selling a g27 for $120. Amazon has it for $400. Can’t find a used one anywhere online. At least not one for a reasonable price.
I can‘t connect the wheel on my ps5 . Does anyone know how to connect it?
Good Video.
But if you invest 120 bucks more (i know its hard smt) you got something with FFB
But i think for beginners/arcarde racing guys this is the perfekt wheel
I completely agree, I could never go back after getting used to FFB. I see them as serving two different needs though, like you said the hori is fine for some arcade type games. I could also see using it with some retro console emulators or something along those lines.
Hello Can you tell me What cheap stand might fit well for the Apex gaming steering wheel?
And also does it work on laptop? please answer
@@Gaming_YTVLdamn this is a long time ago but it should
What game did you play?
hey good stuff. just 1 question. i am playing GRAN TORISMO SPORT. BY THE WAY I USE THE CONTRILER TO STEER AS OF NOW. almost left that out. peace out
Is the ps4/ps3 and pc compatible with ps5
Can I use this for gran turismo 7
Does hori apex wheel got force feedback?
Can you use this wheel on pc for formula 1 2022 ???
a door mat works great for the gas and brakes
Did you use it on ps4 or pc?
Theres no clutch cuz its paddle shift
Yep my thoughts exactly. You wouldn't have both standardly. But this isn't clearly a FULL sim authentic experience anyway. That is not the market for this wheel. This is for casual-enthusiasts. For me I got this wheel not because of budget (I could easily afford the $300+ wheels) but because they just want a step up from using a controller. I don't want to feel like I am fully driving a real car as I already drive plenty in real life and so this is a way to not have to tire my fingers out holding down acceleration buttons over the course of long races. I would rather use foot pedals for that.
Bro it works in the ps4 menus and not in games someone help please
@@Bikertyke id recommend something like the thrustmaster tx, its an insanely good wheel, i know its quite a bit more expensive but its worth every penny, and since its not a geared motor in the wheelbase its not nearly as loud as a g29
Im new to sim racing and the TX has been an amazing wheel choice for sure 👍
Ive been so confuced for ages with one setting where you can either have 180 degree rotation of the wheel or 270 but i cant seem to change to 270 does anyone know?
If you hold down assign and L2 it should switch back to 270, it will light up green for a few seconds to indicate that it worked. Hopefully that sorts it out for you.
Can i play bus simulator 21 with this one on xbox series s??
Can you please 😢 🙏 try this on Gran Tursmo Sport for the Boyz 😎 🆒️ 😎
when it come to wheel as for Joystick. you have 59.99$, 99,99$ and then 499$... We can't have a middle one!!! lol.. it's 100$ or 499$ lol.
Just get a used G29. There's a ton of them on the market and most of them are in good condition.
thx.
Unfortunate.
with the steering wheel on the steering mode, it isnt working at all for me idk why
@@ZerumTV ill check for a software update, i dont know how to do that for the wheel though. And with sensitivity should i turn it to 150?
I cant connect him to the ps5 is this right?
This or Thrustmaster T80?
I have this wheel and its amazing
I’m buying one of these for £35 for Xbox I’m getting it for a cheap starter set up can it be used for drifting as I’ll be playing forza and carx
🆘Guys is there a handbrake add on for the hori apex?🆘
whats game you're playing with the wheel by the way ?
Mostly Project Cars 2 and NASCAR Heat 5, though I really want to play the new Forza!
can you use those on the ps5?
