Question, if indeed it was the burial cloth of Christ, are there traces of spices in the cloth? "Nicodemus also, who earlier had come to Jesus by night, came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds in weight. So they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews." John 19:39-40 That's a lot of spices to not have any trace. Also with that much spice, they should have been between the cloth and Jesus's skin which should have prevented an almost complete trace of the body and wounds.
@@yankeecitygirl There are blood stains and there are imprints. The point is, there are no traces of spices. Just pollens. If pollens found their way to the shroud, why not 75 pounds of spices? Its extracts and whatever is left in its compounds should have had some trace. And even if there was a burst of light, the spices should have left shadows. Please guide me to the right direction for evidence of spices. I've been looking for sources but found none.

Not exactly. It wasn't in possession of the Vatican directly but the shroud has been in Turin in a Catholic church for hundreds of years. No protestant or Orthodox church possessed the shroud. No sir! It's not cloth, singular. It's cloths, plural. And some translations say "strips" (again, plural) of cloth. Also the women did not bring the spices when they arrived...they were there when the body is first laid out. John 19:39 By the way, where are those spices (100 pound of them) in the image? The presenter is either lying or simply uninformed. I'lll assume the latter.
First off, the headcloth of Jesus was not on him when he was resurrected. It was put on him when he died on the cross and it was removed when he was brought into the tomb. Had he been wearing it when he was resurrected then his head image would be on it instead of the Shroud. Duh! As likely millions of us know, after Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus took Jesus to the tomb they spent what little time they had before Sabbath forced them to stop cleaning his body. As the image on the Shroud _clearly shows_, he was horribly beaten, savagely scourged, had a cap of thorns smashed down on this head then he was crucified until dead. Patches of his beard were yanked out. Are you really dumb enough to think that this is not Jesus?? Those strips were used to bind the body in place during rigor and for securing the shroud to his body.
