You've produced a great video on a working balcony garden, Thank You. I'm an experienced veggie gardener of many years who now finds herself in an apartment with a balcony. I've been looking at suggestions for next summer and your setup is the best I've seen! Continued success. ❤
Wow! You have the best by far balcony veggie garden I've ever seen. More veggies than I've ever seen for a small balcony. You have an amazing green thumb. Your container veggies are perfect. I'm surprised you haven't worked in a few sweet 🌽 corn plants. Great video!
@@MindfulLivingA Yes, just shake the plants at pollination time mainly in the mornings and that cloud of yellow dust will fall on the silks. It will be available for about 5 ish days or so. Doesn't matter if you have one plant or several. My tip but you probably already knew this. New subscriber.
Wow thank you for tips you have a beautiful garden 😊 and I appreciate they way you explain your plan for the small space it makes sense where I can do the same thing!!❤
Watching from Philippines. Very informative. I love the way you presented your tips. I am preparing my small garden using containers now that summer here is fast approaching. Thank you for good videos!
I got them from the dollar store actually, about four years ago now, and they were quite inexpensive! I’d check out your local dollar store or gardening centres as I’m sure they sell something similar 😊
I am so very happy to fine a video that answers all of my questions at once. Thank you so much. The last thing I need to know is, would you cover your plants to keep the pests from getting to them? I want to cover them all.
Hi there! I have covered seedlings with shade cloth in the evenings/night time to prevent squirrels from digging up my young plants when I’m not in my garden. Once the plants are more mature I take it off, but do whatever works for you! Just make sure not to cover them all the time as they won’t receive as much sunlight.
I am new for gardening and I live in an apartment. Your video is really help me as a beginner. I gotta need to learn more from your channel ! Thank you
Thanks so much! Try growing more shade tolerant plants, such as lettuces, arugula, kale, Swiss chard, or select herbs. I have a whole video on my channel about shade tolerant plants so feel free to check that out as well! ☺️🌱
Hi thanks so much! Yes I have a few videos from previous years on my channel showing how I start my seeds indoors. I’ll probably be doing another video this year as well so stay tuned! 😊
so helpful thank you! when you mention companion planting- can you plant some of those herbs in the same containers as the vegetables or in separate containers in the vicinity of of one another? ( example basil in same planter as tomatoes ?) thanks!
Thanks so much! The variety is a Regina tomato and I’ve grown it three years in a row now. It’s always high producing and has smaller, sweeter tomatoes. Highly recommend! 😊
Great job. I have a similar balcony like your but mine only receives 4/5 hours of sunlight 😢. Also I lind in the West of UK. So we hardly get any good long day summers. How much sunlight do you get everyday on your balcony?
@@BalconyGardenUK my balcony receives about 6-8 hours a day, but it depends on which part of the balcony. It changes throughout the day and some areas only receive 3-4 hours.
Thank you for sharing your tips for planting in pots! I live in a condo that has a screened in patio. The patio does not get any sun at all. The front of the condo will get a little sun but not much. I ordered some grow lights to get started. Any advice to on what to grow in containers that require no sun?
I’m located in Canada and unfortunately the winter here is too cold for me to grow anything outdoors, but I typically grow indoors using hydroponics during the colder months!
what if you have a balcony that has no cover or canopy so in the summer it get really hot, or rain a lot and in the winter is just too way to cold for plant to grow. I just can't grown any thing, even in door my kitchen windows not open on the side but open out wards is so frustrated, I do love plant I just can't grown any thing.
Hi there! My balcony doesn’t have a cover or canopy either and temps can get to 95-100 degrees Fahrenheit and above at times, it is often hotter on my balcony since I am on the third floor in direct sun and heat rises. Opt for heat-loving plants like peppers, tomatoes, and eggplant and cover them with shade cloth on days when temps are super high. Also, apply mulch around your plants to regulate the soil temperature and water in the early mornings so your plants are ready to endure the heat! 🔥

I love your garden great advice. What do u use to hang the herbs on the balcony
Thank you! It’s a railing planter that hangs off my balcony. I purchased it at a local garden centre and it hooks onto the balcony railing to attach.
so helpful thank you! when you mention companion planting- can you plant some of those herbs in the same containers as the vegetables or in separate containers in the vicinity of of one another? ( example basil in same planter as tomatoes ?) thanks!
Yes you can companion plant together in the same pot too! Tomatoes and basil work great together 😊

What type of soil do you use for your pots. Very impressive with your balcony garden.
Thanks so much!! ☺️🌱 I use organic potting soil for all my plants. My preferred brands are Pro Mix Vegetable & Herb or Golf Green!
Where do you get the plant markers? They’re very cute!
Thank you!! I got them from the dollar store actually 😆
