I head up into the mountains to experience an incredible blizzard, camping in my Fiat Ducato van. This was quite the incredible experience and I was lucky to capture the cozy feeling of the blizzards and snow storm in HDR. I bring my new DJI mini4 pro drone for the first time and circle the highest mountain plateau of its kind in Europe as the first leg of my arctic winter tour.
My van is a Fiat Ducato, FWD with Nokian Winter Tires. This is the same as a Ram Promaster in the USA and Canada.

This is my complete first winter of Winter Van Life in extreme conditions in the North, living in a van during freezing temperatures. Starting in January I go through the whole winter season of snowy winter adventures from January to April, with snow storms, blizzards, extreme cold, extreme snowfall, slippery roads and some amazing winter beauty as well.

Wow, even the wind and the cold temperature outside looks dangerous, I still enjoy watching this video and feeling relax and cozy. Love it.
Just turned 50, stuck in a huge house alone with my dog. Bored out of my mind. My goal is to sell everything, purchase a Van/Motor Home and travel the rest of my life. I traveled all 50 states with my grandfather who did this at 40, he was one of the original traveling vagabonds and loved every minute of it. I loved every second of our adventures together. Including the breakdowns, the storms and other issues we adapted to and overcame. I'll be planning this for the next 15 years.

Nearing the end of the video, an idea that might help in the snow. If you do not use your defroster letting the front window get real cold the wipers will not ice up.

We had an all-window 1969 ford econovan back in 1971 it was fully insulated and we spent 14 days snowed in at Alpental ski lodge at snowqualmie pass in Washington. We had a cooler, we had a Therm-x catalytic heater and a 5 gallon propane tank with a two-burner stove. The skiing was Awsome and it was a little wet inside because of the carbon dioxide out-put from the heater and three guys living a van. They say that snow storm happens once in 100 years. The greatest ski trip I’ve ever taken. I even remember most of it. Great memories.

I listen to snowstorms , blizzards, and rain storms to be able to sleep at night. I play the videos all night. You could probably make some really good videos or audio for insomniacs to listen to at night. It's just something to think about.

Great videos, we have almost identical van (and the Aeropress haha) in Scotland for winter trips, installed a Webasto 2kw heater under the driver's seat as back up for the Truma gas heater, worth doing 😁

@@NorwegianXplorer webasto Air Top 2000 STC, small size so neat fit under the seat, seat was removed to fit it, if you have room under one of yours? Outlet vent is neatly installed in the plastic cover below and at the back of the seat. Used Ducato kit to drop fuel line into tank, wiring was taken in conduit under the van back to the leisure battery, controller fitted beside the Truma controller. Think I got the upgraded controller. It all looks factory. I was going to fit myself but got an approved installer. I tend to set it to 8-10 degrees for overnight and I'll just use the Truma for an hour in morning to get heat boost and hot water. As you know you're never sure where you are going to get LPG and where you are it would be good safety investment.
Cool, it is rather easy to get propane bottles here, but it sounds very convenient to have another source like that. I have the electro block under my driver seat so not sure how that would work, but the position sounds good
@@NorwegianXploreryou might have space in rear or below a kitchen unit if clear space below chassis, best keep fuel line and exhaust as short as possible, I'm away out now in van, balmy zero degrees here 😁

i love to watch video like this on youtube, video about people doing travelling or camping during snow season or winter season because as a citizen of equatorial region i can't exprerience it😅 and consider how low the temperature maybe i will be dead instantly because i can't even handle 23°celcius without blanket😅 but i really love to watch video like this, i really want to experience it once in my life😅

Seeing you watch a film in bed with denuded arms and uncovered head, that means 👴 it's cosy and warm in your van... Beautiful those snowy mountains and that immense icy plateau Hardanger under heavy snow-drift, and above a pure blue winter-sky ! The snow blown by the blizzard makes me think of the fusees of fire-work ! Not pretty to catch it in the face ! And I, I LOVE your nice scandinavian PULL, tricot artisanal. 💜 Your isolation mats : good idea ! - And to finish.... we should complain you when you are getting snowed-in, because you love it !! Hahahahaaaa! (Tip : putting first your carrots for 3 min. they will be softer, then add all the rest ! ) You are always optimistic and with new initiatives !
