Don't get me started on how bad they ended it. Forget how rushed everything was or heartless the pacing was, the fact that they show you the force ghosts being badass from beyond the grave in the physical world but didn't have them fight our first glimpse of Sith ghosts. I wonder if Endgame hadn't had a similar ending that JJ wouldn't have tried it. Oh well.
But actually now that i think about Rey's final line in that Sith temple is already close to endgame so yeah, JJ should have just gone for it. Hell she's even repeating be with me the whole film they should have all finally pulled up lol
I wish they would have flashed Hayden on screen at some point, just to bring more of that sense of closure to the series. It would have been so easy to do, either at the point with all the Jedi voices, or at the very end where it could have been all four Skywalkers on Tatooine (with Anakin and Ben). Hearing the disembodied voice alone was not satisfying.
Ben Solo’s redemption was not abrupt at all. In The Force Awakens, when he had the clear shot to take out Leia’s ship: he didn’t do it. He *couldn’t* do it. There was no conflict in that scene - he literally did not and would not kill his mom. I knew from that moment he could be saved. I just think it was stupid to have him die in the end, even though he died as a hero and a badass. Man I’ll miss the Rey and Ben fight scenes when they worked together!! Some of the best choreography since Darth Maul.
The scene you're referring to happened in TLJ, not TFA. However, I agree with you that his redemption wasn't sudden or abrupt in any way. It was hinted at in every Episode each one showing Ben Solo peeking out of the mask of Kylo Ren and showing himself. The whole trilogy has been about both Ben and Rey. Ben's story is about embracing his family and his light side and Rey's is learning who she is, where she belongs and embracing her dark side.
Two things stand out in my mind, as to what this movie, and perhaps the entire saga represents: First, there is strength in numbers. The rebellion succeeded because enough people joined the cause whether it was Ewoks or Gungans. There is one point in the movie where the commander asks where did they all come from, because they don't have a navy, and the guy replies, "No, sir, they're just people." Secondly, Finn and Rey's stories prove a very important point, and that is that no matter what your history or bloodline is, you can redefine yourself.

Please, Disney: Tell me Kylo is able to give her a miracle baby while in force ghost mode.
Rey doesn't say Skywalker because they're her adopted family. It's more than that. She sort of married Ben. They became one. They were always part of each other. She was cherished by Han and Leia, true. But she's a Skywalker because of Ben. And I loved that symbolism.
Wait, why are the Skywalker her adopted family? Thought she was an orphan since her parents(son or daughter of palpatine) were killed, which is why she was living alone as a scavenger as seen in ep 7. I guess that she has Ben Solo within her now since he saved her but what's with her adopted family? What did I miss?
A lot of y'all overlooking hidden details about the last 3 movies. This wasn't Anakin Skywalkers story or just a general Skywalker bloodline story, it was Leias Skywalkers...When Force Ghost Luke is telling Rey about Leias training, she saw at the end of her destiny her son dying (Ben Solo). Luke said Leia stopped her training and some day, someone would pick up her lightsaber and finish her path. Rey picked up the saber and finished Leias path, thus the destiny was fulfilled and Ben Solo dies. That's why Ben and Leia both disappear at the same time because her path is now complete. Anakin fulfilled his destiny, died, then became one with the force. Leia died, destiny was fulfilled, then became one with the force.
I think in the original cut of TFA with all the Leia scenes that they used in this one JJ intended to have maz with Luke looking for the Jedi killer and that's when they both discovered Palpatine had offspring. I think what JJ did the worst justice wasn't any one thing in TROS, it was him cutting scenes that setup all the major ideas he had for the trilogy out of TFA to try and have open threads. I didn't dislike TLJ but JJ kinda came in and forced what he envisioned for 8 and 9 into this one film with tiny pathetic explanations for everything in TLJ. Even if you hate TLJ you have to admit a trilogy ending film that ignores one of the films doesn't make any sense. That was this films downfall.
Y’all did the best, but WTF does the yellow lightsaber mean, I thought Rey took the name also because she loved Ben and she’s going to conceive a kid out of nothing just like Anakin’s mom. I don’t know I liked it I’m just thinking
The yellow saber is for jedi sentinels, wich in the order worked as basically security guards for the temple, you could think of it as if they were protectors of the jedis tradition and legacy, wich rey is at that point of the saga since she represents all jedis.
I don't believe the missed opportunity in the last fight scene where Rey is fighting Palpatine. Instead of her picking up both lightsabers and killing Palpatine that way, they could've made it so Anakin(Hayden Christensen) comes as a force ghost and picks up the lightsaber. It would tie in perfectly, as the lightsaber is picking up is his original lightsaber from when he was a jedi. After he does so, he and Rey kill Palpatine and he tells Rey something and vanishes. Thus, the prophecy is fulfilled, he did in fact end the Sith and kill Palpatine, and it is indeed "The Rise Of Skywalker". Such a missed opportunity.
@@Sk3rtl3z no moral person would think that was right. Go check out Sargon of Akkad's review of the movie... It is definitely more entertaining than the movie... Actually, maybe I'm a bad person... I enjoy shitting on the movie with other online "trolls" than the viewing of the movie... Hahaha
Nope, the theme of togetherness falls apart the second you realize the new trio spent the entire trilogy split up. Also, an offscreen death for Ashoka with her death being from unnatural causes based by age. So much nope.
Rey disrespected Anakin by putting his lightsaber into fucking sand. *I don’t like sand, it’s course, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere.*
Palpatine needed Rey to kill him in order to pass his spirit into her body. So why didn’t it happen when she ultimately killed him? This plot was Swiss cheese
Personally I hated the big twist involving Rey’s lineage. Of all the things from TLJ to lean into as JJ did, the parentage reveal was the most important one. He should have definitely stuck to Rian’s answer and let that be final. The ending actually has really sour implications in the fact Rey is just shirking one powerful family name in favor of another AND Palpatine ultimately won in the end. The Skywalkers are gone and his lineage lives on. I get that JJ was going for a “there are things more important than blood and your path isn’t written for you just because of where you come from” but that is more powerful and poignant if she truly is no one from nowhere, not heiress to the empire.
Overall I liked the movie though. I’ve just never been interested in Reylo or the idea that Rey has to be someone’s daughter or granddaughter to be important.
1. Rogue One. 2. The Empire Strikes Back. 3. Return of The Jedi. 4. A New Hope. 5. Revenge of The Sith. 6. Attack of The Clones. 7. The Force Awakens. 8. The Rise of Skywalker. 9. The Last Jedi. 10. The Phantom Menace. 11. Solo.
It would have been nice if she said “Rey solo” instead of sky walker so it will seem like that seen from TITANIC when they asked rose for her last name and she told JACKS last name instead of her actual one because she loved him like Rey loved Ben.
Regarding the ending. My most pressing thought was/is, why did Palpatine keep using farce lightning when Rey stop it with her saber? Even when she bounced it back on him, then could he have turned it off. You hurt yourself, just stop, and attack another way.
Snoke: I’m gonna kill you Rey Palps: snoke was a puppet he was doing everything I wanted Palps: also I dun wanna kill ya That’s a master 4D chess player right there
Issues: 1. What’s up with the kiss? That came out of no where. 2. What killed Leia? She tried to talk to her son, but was that it? 3. Healing powers? Where did that come from? 4. What happen to Rose and Finn? 5. Rey Skywalker???? Made no sense.
I like this, outlook and is really a hopeful outlook, fitted into heart ❤️ reality reaches out with the act of the leader where the mind goes so goes the body.
This movie was about two things, even if the writers wanted it to be about what you claim. First, it's about Disney earning money. Secondly, it's about a strong female hero who doesn't need help from anyone, except that she does, because if not for Ben Solo, she'd be dead.
It would be interesting to see a new "expanded universe" that happens after The Rise of Skywalker, in books and comics, that might include the lightsabers of Luke and Leia.
This is the kind of movie that will prove to be pivotal for the franchise. Most, who have deep connections to the originals, aren't really liking the handling of the characters that we've grown connected to. It seems as though the writers chose their own paths and they weren't nearly as accurate as we'd hoped in their ending of this saga.
Michael Paragon Well, the original trilogy characters were the old ones now.............. old people die and new generations take over. prequels had those moments too, we just didn't have connection to their younger versions.
@@CHRISrnbWORLD I have no problems with older characters being killed off - properly. That is the way of things (no Mandalorian pun intended) but, let's maintain levels of consistency with the progression of things. If Rey can now Force Heal (which she learned from... Leia? Reading old writings?? Luke's Force Ghost???) or Ben can transform into the Force when he dies (Light side or Dark side?)... Show, don't tell is the number one thing. I can't say that I hated the movie but, with what I've seen beforehand it's too much of a disconnect for me to openly recommend to anyone. By contrast, I'r recommend The Mandalorian or even Rogue One without hesitation. But THIS one...
TLJ message was youre bloodline doesnt matter (and you can still have force abilities) RoS was also about your bloodline not mattering (in that Rey doesnt have to accept her evil roots and can choose her family)

If it were because of Ben she would be a Solo, moron.
@@kk-gu1zv The narrator in the video says she uses the Skywalker last name as a tribute to her adopted family. But that's not so. I agree with you.
thats fucking disgusting it makes me want to throw up in my mouth
kylo ren / ben solo was the only interesting character in this trilogy.
Agreed
True.
Then Rey had the audacity to bury Anakin’s lightsaber in SAND...doesn’t she know it’s rough and irritating and gets everywhere.
It's also course
Sam Winchester of course it’s coarse, now carry on my wayward son, good luck with Chuck and give Dean and Castiel my best!
it was wrapped in cloth
ThisIs_Viviana Cloth can’t protect the saber from sand... Haven’t you heard, *IT GETS EVERYWHERE!!*
*The Rise of Palpatine
More like Rise of Emperor
Maz Kanata still hadn’t explained how she had Lukes lightsaber.
To be honest, I'm disappointed that her scenes are brief and short. I was expecting that she had a bigger role in this movie.
Well it's kinda obvious, she was Probably on a spaceship when Luke's lightsaber came down
Turns out Palpatine is Baby Yoda's uncle. On his mother's side.

I actually liked the movie surprisingly the acting was undeniable.
It is undeniable that in the movie they were surprisingly, acting.
JJ is a better actor's direcror than Rian.

looper on damage control for the mouse
Good for you if you got passed the fact that Sidious had a kid to have Rey.
That is one plot hope in the story that baffles me!who was palpatines offspring son/daughter and why was he skipping that generation makes no sense!
Dave Vaidya I wonder who was the wife smh
@@MaceWindu117 Same.
@@tshorty1986 agreed. i kept asking myself "but... um... wouldn't ur "force" be stronger in your direct offspring vs a generation after?"
I'm just waiting for Disney to announce that Rey is The One,
She is The Father in disguise😇
You know I've never seen Palpatine and the Mouse in the same place at the same time...wait a minute!
But at that's point of the saga Rey becomes a grey Jedi
chaneyvids see that’s what I was thinking, I saw something on Instagram and was I thinking that
Thanks for saving me some money looper

Michael Galindo Sorry they didn't rerelease the original trilogy...........
But then it would be a man who wins
@@scottttym and the SJW's wouldnt like that
@@Sk3rtl3z no moral person would think that was right.
Go check out Sargon of Akkad's review of the movie... It is definitely more entertaining than the movie... Actually, maybe I'm a bad person... I enjoy shitting on the movie with other online "trolls" than the viewing of the movie... Hahaha
TomKatom Yeah it was stupid that the Jedi at the end were just voices. They should’ve actually showed up like force ghosts but only Rey could see them
But then you create 1000000000 plot twit as why no other ghost never used physical item , so yeah let leave ghost as ghost
The theme of the film isn't "don't go it alone." The theme is about identity.
exactly
Nope, the theme of togetherness falls apart the second you realize the new trio spent the entire trilogy split up. Also, an offscreen death for Ashoka with her death being from unnatural causes based by age. So much nope.
@@amanms1999 she was supposedly one of the Jedi voices at the end
Did she survive that last encounter with Vader..?
@@conytook1292 yup, last we saw she was headed off with ezra
Really enjoyed this video
The movie should have been called Star Wars the Rise of Palpatine.
So good!!! Loved it
I really wish this is the last Star Wars movie.
Carmelo Gaite why ??
I LOVED IT AND Got Emotional 😭
There is still the kid that worked under the casino that has the force
Not an explanation but a recap. Maybe consider renaming.

The Skywalker saga ended on Endor. The sequel trilogy is it’s own thing.
Plot hole: Where's Wedge? Shouldn't he have been an Admiral by this point in the movie?

rogue one 1 ??? lmao fucking normies man
When youre still wondering who that little boy is with the broom at the end of the last jedi.
I cant believe Disney literally created the ultimate Mary Sue when they are aware of the criticism.
I still don't get how Rey is a Mary Sue
YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!! Looper finally explained this movie. I was so lost now my life is complete
There's no end to the possibilities?
This was movie was the end.
dan Duenas they making another trilogy lol u heard
the movie was the end of the skywalker saga there could be other movies about other events in the star wars universe
Snoke: I’m gonna kill you Rey
Palps: snoke was a puppet he was doing everything I wanted
Palps: also I dun wanna kill ya
That’s a master 4D chess player right there
There’s nothing to explain. Disney ruined it all by nullifying Anakin’s sacrifice in episode 6
Just got home from the movies confused af so thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Basically, she's an honorary Skywalker
Movies like that are why I chase humans out of my forest
I CANT GET OVER THIS THING WHYYYYY REYLOOOOOO
Issues:
1. What’s up with the kiss? That came out of no where.
2. What killed Leia? She tried to talk to her son, but was that it?
3. Healing powers? Where did that come from?
4. What happen to Rose and Finn?
5. Rey Skywalker???? Made no sense.

I just saw this movie last night and it was great, the fan service moments had me geeking out!
7 8 and 9 trashed the whole star wars legacy, Rogue One is the only movie that did it justice.
I like this, outlook and is really a hopeful outlook, fitted into heart ❤️ reality reaches out with the act of the leader where the mind goes so goes the body.
Still waiting for Darth JarJar
Believe me "THE GENERATION OF THE JEDI" will be the next episode of STAR WARS as we want more! we want more!
Jar jar binks
This movie was about two things, even if the writers wanted it to be about what you claim. First, it's about Disney earning money. Secondly, it's about a strong female hero who doesn't need help from anyone, except that she does, because if not for Ben Solo, she'd be dead.
not a star war fan, but seen the movie just hour ago and was pretty satisfied. :)
for all those who were wondering what intro music this channel is making use of
it is CYMATIX - RAIDERS (LOOPER SONG)
Does anyone saw that the stable boy has the force in him
Yea broom boy from the Last Jedi I believe? Never seen any new info about him
Nah you’re england isn’t that good matey
It would be interesting to see a new "expanded universe" that happens after The Rise of Skywalker, in books and comics, that might include the lightsabers of Luke and Leia.
Just saw it. I liked it.
Michael Paragon I'm glad we see more and more sides of star wars on screen.
Tired of simple war or lightsaber battles to end someones role.
TLJ message was youre bloodline doesnt matter (and you can still have force abilities) RoS was also about your bloodline not mattering (in that Rey doesnt have to accept her evil roots and can choose her family)
I want Ben to live a happy life with Rey and have kids and all but why can't I have it?? I have waited so long for this movie to show but i am honestly very disappointed with how the ending turned out.. The ending is definitely not what i expected.. I thought Kylo will become good again but he LIVES not DIES
You would think they would have gone that way.. but I guess they took "the Last Jedi" title THAT far and decided she HAD to be it. Couldnt have 2 Jedi. Missed opportunity imo.
Cant out see the divorcing man
When Palpatine appeared it gave me "The Nun" Vibes!!! It felt so out of place! And how did Palpatine even make all those Star Destroyers!? And are those Star Destroyers some sort of ghost Star Destroyers??? Movie confused me, but it was honestly a pretty good movie
