    My only request is that these be longer. I think the audience that is looking for this content will sit and watch another hour and the participants clearly always have more to share. Two hours would be ideal, I think. There seems to be a lot left unsaid and two hours would still leave you wanting more but walking away, as a viewer, feeling like the discussion was "complete." Netflix's exec was really starting to share at the end and he was kind of cut off and it seemed like he was just starting to reveal more info that we'd all like to know. Just a suggestion/thought.

    These executive roundtables are always effectively dick swinging contests, and this is no different. They all pretend to like and respect each other, but it's always dripping with subtext and veiled rivalry. They are all alphas at their own companies to get to the position they are in, and when you have that many alphas at one table, you can conclude that there's going to be a huge amounts of rivalry amongst them, but they dress the rivalry up in platitudes and cliches about there 'being room for everyone in the market' etc. Makes for fascinating viewing.

    • @youreright6627

      Yeah its awesome, but you just described a Executive job.
      Richard Pleper looks like a major ahole, with the fake tan and all, but he's the most successful without a doubt. Don't take me wrong, i literaly watch content of all this networks, but we can't argue, HBO is HBO.
      But funily enough, Ted Sarandos seems like a great guy, i don't know why, but i really like him, he's the total opposite of Pleper, but Netflix is also amazingly successful, and that makes you think you know...

      Yes, agreed; better this than in Russia+China govt. control and in Asia,Africa,South America where they hate each other so much,which is culturally acceptable, that bringing them in such a roundtable wouldn't enter anyone's mind.

    • @binaryvoid0101
      @binaryvoid0101 7 років тому +9

      So because they're not tearing each other down in front of the cameras you're not buying their seemingly fake behavior???? That's not being fake, that's being an adult. Just because you hate your competition's guts doesn't mean you have to make a scene about it in public. You don't want a roundtable discussion, you want a Twitter battle, reality tv Shade-Fest.

We use the plasmas just for movies, documentaries, youtube.We find that it helps immensely with the development of critical thiking of our small ones. Plus, we optimize the use of our leisure time.

      HBO does it the other way around and have been massively successful.
      I think the best way would be a good mix of both.
      However I personally would prefer HBOs model.because it is addicted to high quality.

      You don't think more than 36 million people share other peoples Netflix accounts around the world? The last I saw Netflix was at 100 million while HBO was at 135 million. I'd say Netflix will have more paid subscribers by the end of this year at the soonest. Not to mention they started in 1998 while HBO started in 1972. How am I retarded in saying Netflix killed these dinosaur business models?

    • @peterdink5823
      @peterdink5823 7 років тому +3

      Netflix is a streaming company, nothing more. While HBO is a cable channel and also streaming service. HBO is one of the three divisions of Time Warner, the other one being Warner Bros(maybe you head of them). At the end of the day, HBO are the ones who have Game of Thrones, the biggest show in the world in terms of popularity, awards and ratings. Nothing from Netflix comes even close.

    • @JohnSmith-jb8rb
      @JohnSmith-jb8rb 7 років тому +1

      I'm not saying HBO hasn't done great things, but Netflix's business model really took off in the 2000's. Netflix is also starting to produce content..I'm wary to see where that's going, but I'd like to think that they'll produce something that'll take off, although I have to say House of Cards is no slouch. I'm going to guess in the same 45 years HBO has been around that Netflix will have made a bigger profit. I agree that GoT is the best show produced today..hell, television has had to get better to even compete with shows like Mr. Robot, etc...
      I still think Netflix will start to gain traction and become it's own content producing channel while also streaming other companies content. People will start to go to Netflix with their new ideas for really great shows, and it'll keep snowballing until it burns out somewhere in the future.
      I'm not sure AT&T will know what to do with Time Warner once they have it. I hope they know how to run it.

    • @TNDCBaby
      @TNDCBaby 7 років тому

      Nothing more? That doesn' tmake sense nowadays. Yes, you can view HBO online or at home but all that matters is that you have eyes on the screen.
      With House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things, the Marvel series, and all of their comedy shows they are more than some "streaming company". Did you know that they are only 3 Emmy nominations behind HBO this season? 3. HBO at its peak was at 126 and is down by 30 or so.
      You are right. They do not have one big fantasy show that rules the world but I wouldn't put it past them to figure something out in the next 5 years.

    the first gentleman speaking is very sensible and saying something which is true even in competitive world and right kind of attitude, i can say even in my capacity of professional in mumbai and yet to begin here... I rather got encouraged by a good work somewhere and would maybe want to make something better upping the game... it is very curious factor with me that I do not feel jealous not even in my personal relations it is a negative emotion, it wants to destroy other from whom you feel jealous, I would rather turn it into positive, if that makes me enlightened "buddha- buddhi:) so be it, I even promote products in consumer or entertainment sector just because.. they are good to my palate or taste without being paid to do so...so others can sample it and see whether it makes them also feel good. the way I see it there are lot of mergers and co companies are going to form, it is better to share than struggle to fend or try to earn stand alone in today's avalanche of online streaming or cable, television, massive exodus happened with Fox mergers with Disney … maybe others can see possibilities too. online streaming, television is here to stay... films productions theatrical ones are shrinking as people are having alternative platforms sitting right at home, so now films will be made targeted towards these outlets at least in digi modern nations.

    These things are pretty great all around. This one features some of the biggest wage earners I'll ever watch talking shop. Discussing some very competitive issues in a respectful and friendly fashion. And the Hosts are seriously good at what they do. They seem more youthful and wide eyed in this one; but you would expect that as they are conducting things with those who are some of the Giants (excuse me; Titans) of their business. So Boo Hoo to all the Haters below ('She just says Yep!', 'He sounds Gay!'...I remember when I was that _______ too)
    I can't wait to see the Oil Industry Round Tables next!;-) One could feature Barons and Sultans and Political Leaders; then have different generations of who works/worked at Gas Stations.

    I feel like whoever is the head of UA-cam should have been on here. It's more of a social media outlet, but very popular series have had some sort of start here.

    Should I smack myself on the head for picking only the roundtables hosted by Lacey Rose?

    Lacey Rose isn't a bad interviewer, but when circled by the cool demeanor and poised attitudes of major execs all the affirmations seem naive and excited. Turn her mic down just a tad on the back end, and make a stronger effort to use less verbal affirmations and she's fine.

    I'm sure she's a nice lady, but I can't look at the NBC exec without seeing Myra Licht from Episodes.
