Bill Hader seems like the funniest, lovliest, most unpretentious person. He really stands out.
I've seen countless interviews with him and he genuinely is
I've joked to some people lately that Tom Hanks needs to start sleeping with one eye open, because Bill Hader is clearly gunning to inherit that mantle of "genuinely extremely talented and likeable star that is ALSO you'd-think-it-impossible-for-him-to-actually-be-this-nice-but-no-it-really-is-the-truth person in Hollywood"... that's been Hanks' crown for couple decades but Billy's coming to steal it lol
Tom Hanks is the GP version though. Bill Hader has a dark streak to him.
"That was a waste of a download". Bill is always so quick and funny.
Kristen Bell saying Bill Hader is a great director was the loveliest thing. Two of my favourite people
Experiencing one of those existential moments. All these talented humans sitting in each others’ presence and sharing perspectives around the things they have in common. Learning from and bonding with one another. My heart ♥️ I love people.
I’m only here for Bill Hader lmao
And Maron
@@samanthab1923 who
@@jerachiwc5840 Mark Maron
That table isn't even round.
!!!
Yes, but they are "talking 'round the table."
Horrifically staged and shot. What are you doing? The interviewer is the only one facing the camera? Come on. Thank god you had Bill Hader.
Half the actors shouldnt even be on the panel
Felt this whole comment
this could've been a real drag if bill wasn't there. not that the others aren't great but he lightened things up whenever they got slow
Shannon Dean yeah you're wrong
Well, this makes me appreciate the THR roundtables.
Bill Hader is brilliant.
"Barry", is the COOLEST show on TV, hands down! As a USMC Desert Storm Infantry Vet, who has actually pursued acting, it's fucking UNREAL, how REAL the show is.
Hader’s charisma always pops - and the guy doesn’t even try.
A am a simple girl I see Bill Hader I click
Is it weird that Sally in Barry reminds me of Kristen Bell?
Eh they look alike a bit😂😂
She does, but Kristen is softer, I think.
the imaginary roundtable saved by Bill and Marc
This is more like a comedy rectangle table. Right? This guy knows what I'm talking about.
The cringe factor was at a solid 4
Bill Hader and Marc Maron are my heroes
The awkward silences are painful
I love how Sara Gilbert is also making sure she brings up the "business" side of the conversation of making comedy shows.
LA Times - Please learn how to stage and shoot interviews. This is set up as if it were all about the interviewer. With the A list actors that you've gathered, it's unfortunate that the camera angles and camera choreography are so bad. BTW, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have your interviewer coached as well.
Bill Hader !
The chemistry for the comedy panel is vastly better than the drama panel. There is an ease and flow with this one that I enjoyed.
This looks so uncomfortable right from the outset... Maybe a round table would have facilitated the energy better.
This.
Who decided to film this like that?
Its like mediocre broadcast television
Way to try to be the budget version of the Hollywood Reporter roundtables
I love this, but wish the actors were shot from the other side so we could see more of their faces.
I like Justina's laugh 😂
I love that this panel, is more diverse, than any show the actors have been on
Obviously shot before Roseanne was cancelled
Bill Hader is surprisingly quite during this.
Christopher Blue quite quiet? 😋
yup I misspelled that one. lol
Because he's uncomfortable. Who would be in that setting? He's incredibly shy and has severe anxiety so you need to make sure that he feels safe if you want him to be open with you.
How were the 50's and 80's simpler times? The 50's was still feeling the after math of WWII and included Truman and the start of the cold war, the Korean and Vietnam wars, and had Brown v. Board of Education. The 80's had Reaganomics, the start of the gay rights movement and the aids epidemic, and a ton of conflict in the middle east, and they started researching the internet. Now we have a similar amount of drama, just social media thrown into the mix. I guess simpler time really means number of years until we stop remembering history.
I loved this round table, this is awesome. It's great to see all of these great actors from different shows. Love it love it love it 😊♥️✌️😎
watching this, all I can think about is that the interviewer sounds like the target lady from snl
this was very well done, I think the filming was great, they seem more approachable when they have space to relax.
This is awkward 'cause of the whole Roseannne thing.
this interview is a delight, i love them
A great discussion, really. But the way it was shot (mostly), the lighting on the interviewer and her makeup... Good God, get a professional makeup artist! And a different "set".
Kristen Bell 💖💖💖
An odd set-up here where you have the people that audience wants to see looking away from the camera
You can tell bill doesn't want to be there
he seemed kinda nervous/anxious, understandable though, he was somewhat new in directing/producing world and half of the other people there were way more experienced than him.
The actor is Eric McCormack, not Will... the character he plays is Will.
Yes LA Times, please correct the description box. It should be Eric McCormack of "Will and Grace".
mymy It actually should be McCormack of Will and Grace and Netflix Travelers!
who gives a rat's ass?
Obviously you do since you took the time to reply :)
The irony of someone commenting on a post with the sentence "who gives a rat's ass." SMDH.
Maron is the man
BOOMER LIVES!
I got to meet him in Dublin after his gig, I just say hey thanks for everything (wtf pod show helps me stay sober, learn about filmmaking acting and got me to start doing stand up) and shuck his hand, he was so sweet. Lovely man
+Happy Now Aww that is such a great story! Been a fan of WTF for a long time. Glad Maron was so nice to you. :)
Thanks :) mensch is the yiddish term i believe :) I was going to get him a Thin Lizzy tshirt something small just as a token but i forgot to buy one in time so I ended up giving him the three flavours of an Irish crisp 'Tayto' (potato chip) in a gift bag with a little note explaining how much the show meant to me, as they're are best snack and he likes to eat junk food when hes away.
Haha, that's awesome!
One Day at a Time - funny, sweet, fav sitcom out right now. Love the Abuelita character. Latinx and LBGT representation on point.
Good Place - Hilarious. I know she gave away the reveal but still worth it. Character development is awesome. Second season even better than the first.
Barry - Havent seen it yet. Its on my list. But I like Bill Hader and it looks cool.
Will & Grace reboot - Sadly, was never a big fan of the first one so I probably wont get arund to watching this. But i have friends who really love this, so you might.
Roseanne Reboot - it got cancelled. But you should go back and watch the original if you havent, it was really good.
GLOW - Watch it! I loved it. Lots of fun. Sam (Maron) is a wonderful jerk. You start to like him despite yourself. And all the women are unique, funny, strong, and with great character growth.
It was cool seeing all of these comedians together. And if anybody hasnt seen their shows, they're definitely worth checking out.
Maron!.Intelligent dude.
I knew McCormack would speak first. LOL. Love him!
Did anyone else notice how Sara Gilbert said, 'it is this week', when Eric Mc Cormack said to her, 'you've got a good thing going on (paraphrased)'. Quite poignant, but makes it seem like she knew it could all come crashing down.
So much harsh criticism, but I enjoyed this and found it to be insightful. The host segued between different topics quite well, too. Bravo :)
Kristen Bell...brilliant.
This is a great roundtable!
a new set up and a different interviewer would make this a lot better
great roundtable
Love Justina ❤️❤️❤️
Maron 🖤
One year later and most of these shows are ending or have ended.
38:11 she finally talks
FUnny first time i watched "one day at a time" and the grand mother came out to the stage, people started clapping and cheering, had no idea why! SO she's Rita Moreno! Wow ! i wonder who knows its her from west side story..... I'm sure no one in the audience knew.
I'm 15:33 in and I haven't heard the question I'd like to hear asked of these comedic actors and actresses, which is "Do you worry about offending people? And if so, how can you be funny in that environment?"
what a weird complaint. Let us know if it was asked when you finish watching it
ok?
Thanks, camera guy #1! @51:31
She sounds excited.
😂...Literally Hate Sara Gilbert 53:00...Her comedic timing is gold!😂
They all barely simled, there's something wrong with this whole setting, I don't know if it's the physical setting necessarily but it just doesn't work. There's zero intimacy and they all look uninterested at best.
In the description it says Will McCormack, not Eric. Tut. Tut. Tut.
Drink each time Maron touches his face.
bout to re-watch it now...got my Lagavulin on deck.
Or just when he touches the corner of his eye
he is just itchy
How can this be a second golden age? Three out of six of these shows are reboots...
Hahahaha. Kristen Bell pretending like she can relate to non-attractive people while sitting there being ridiculously good looking.
(@2:29) "...& everybody here's on a show that's maybe 8, 10, 12 episodes..we no longer have to do the 22 episode slog..." says Eric McCormack, sitting right beside Sara Gilbert - whose show "big bang theory" just finished their 11th season; a 24 episode run
lucrative lyrics Sara isn't a regular on BBT.
Thought that guy in the middle was Chris Traeger
Kind of weird to do a roundtable with no black creators, not to take away from any of the participants, but it’s kind of a glaring omission on the part of the producers.
Yeah, where's Issa Rae?
I live in Kazakhstan hi America I'm from Astana
This is uncomfortable. She seems nervous.
they should have just let marc do the interviewing
Love Eric ❤️
43:40 this aged like milk
This is literally not a roundtable
that's eric mccormack not will mccormack
who did the news woman make up omg!!
a reboot is the opposite of golden age.
I’m not going to say who but a few of those people don’t belong in that group.
One of the worst moderators ever.
@10:30 - I want to know why there are NO shows - even movies - that have characters who are trying like hell to keep their Union jobs. It doesn't have to be a Vice piece, but if ever there was a show, Roseanne could have done it. Problem with that idea is she is a Trumpie through and through.
Norma Rae is the only movie I can think of which was about this very notion.
- Biden is Prez now - what the hell, Hollywood?!!!

This is boring, sorry. Good thing there isn't a quizz at the end.
Six Feet Under!
Love all God bless your hearts and all in your families safe travels God bless always ^|;"> Kat
so much being made and so little of it is good. what is good is perhaps the best that tv has ever been but all of it is patting itself on the back. not one of te people in this are on a single show i would consider remotely watchable but some of them i like a little of there work on the bigscreen. tv is less campy but not better in general only in specific.
The host is a beautiful woman, but why is she wearing...that type of makeup? It's too much. It's like theater makeup.
This is hilarious Marc Maroon 20 years ago would it trashed this people in the same room lol sarah its just riding the Rosanne train why is she even in this table she took someone elses creation lol no talent there
@13:19 "...roles for women, people of color, gay, gender fluid..."
Justina has no neck.
Marc Maron actually jumps in on a question about women to talk abut his male character. And he thinks he understands the real America. what a joke.
So glad we have you to tell us what the ‘real America’ is behind your keyboard, Jim
Gee Owen, thanks for the comment. It was very enlightening. Wow. You are a fucking genius. Good Lord. Sorry to burst your bubble that Hollywood is a little different then the rest of America.
help you and us God save America
McCormack and Hader are the only relevent ones. Who cares what these other bums think. Marc Maron is not an actor lol.
Kristen Bell is pretty relevant, and Marc would probably agree with you.
Obnoxiously dumb comment. McCormack is a total hack. Even Marc is better as an actor than him. Everyone there is infinitely better than McCormack.
Kristen Bell is the biggest star there.
Ivo Stoyanov Easily.
@@manantial773 id argue Hader is more well known than Kristen Bell. I’m a Brit who barley knows anything about SNL (which is how he became well known I think) and I’m aware of who he is by name. I learnt Kristen bell’s name from this and new her face vaguely from adverts of the show she’s been in recently.
Scripted televisions sucks more than ever, too much political correctness and messaging. I have shut off my cable TV. I watch/stream anything with Bill Hader in it. Watched this just to see what he has to say!
All these comedians and nothing funny...terrible podcast/show
9 minutes in and i find it so titled and monotonous. there is zero substance and the panel lacks serious inclusive flavour.
Women don't like other women
Stop trying to do your bit Maron
He's a comedian dude! And he's been one for decades! Why is almost every comment on youtube negative? haha People have issues.
