A lot of long tube, mid length and even shorty headers won't fit classic Mustangs that have aftermarket power steering from Borgerson etc. I used stock style Scott Drake cast iron exhaust manifolds and they fit great. No notable loss of power or sound, but then I'm not looking for a few more HP.
I got a 69 351w going in 66 Fairlane. I bought mid headers & having problems.. it's hitting on steering armateur & power assist cylinder? What can find that will work
I ordered shorty headers for my 20 GT. Dealers said they would not bolt right up. The catayltic convertors are connected to factory manifold for some stupid reason by Ford. Can you show a video of install of shorty headers on a 18+ Mustang GT
So I want to change my manifold just because my up stream O2 is stuck on. And I just changed my exhaust to a cat back and I don’t plan on putting a turbo on the car. So should I just change the headers and not the manifold or change both?? Just want a fun/reliable car I have a 08 Subaru Impreza Hatch
Do you have advice on which header will fit a 1966 Mustang with GT40p heads? Using factory 66 manifolds now, but would like something with better flow. Not looking for long tubes or interested in cutting the shock towers.
I just installed an H-Pipe on my '21 GT. Was I wrong in thinking LTH would bolt up without further exhaust modification later down the road? What are the obstacles that 18+ s550 mustangs face compared to 15-17? Thanks.
LTH headers will require a matching mid-pipe since it will be much shorter. The 18+ have the cat built into the header which makes shorties pretty much impossible without deleting the cats or a custom midpipe. The H pipe you have is most likely a resonator delete so it mounts in the cat back part of the exhaust system.
@@cjponyparts ah, I understand now. I was misunderstanding your terminology describing the exhaust when you spoke about mid pipe. Thanks for the information!
Hooker long tube, Doug's tri Y, or Sanderson FF6-302P at half the price. No clearance problems with Sanderson. 289 HIPO manifolds are ok for most street cars.
Shorty headers that are a direct replacement for your stock manifolds are legal here in Ca.. The position of your cat doesn't change with shorty's. Long tube headers are illegal here.in Ca. because your cat's position is "too far away from the motors head and won't get hot enough" to do it's job. " It's all B.S. but that's how it is.
False, headers can up your hp by huge amounts. The key is having parts that work together. Just adding headers to an otherwise stock motor isn’t terribly effective. Add a better cam, heads, compression, and intake with headers and combined they will add a very significant amount of power.

I just got Lenth Tube headers installed ❤ Sounds good
What would you recomend for my 93 ae101 corolla (stock engine )
Is it beneficial to replace stock manifolds with shorty headers? Will ceramic shorty headers produce a lot more heat?
Very nice explanation, thank you.

Never heard of mid length headers
Okay do you need some back pressure that’s literally everyone says you do or don’t.
This video explains it all.

Never seen mid length headers. You guys sell those?
We sell a few from JBA
I want to know more about what F1 cars use. Definitely headers right ? Instead of a manifold ?

Yes the 18+ is an exception to the normal rule since the cat is part of the factory header on the driver side.
The stupid reason is HEAT.
Headers decrypted, thanks!
Will new stainless steel headers improve mpg?
Thank you sir

Can i install headers to my vehicle and leave the rest of the exhaust system stock? I wanted to get better exhaust tone.
Yes, If you want to change only the tone not the HP(If the engine is NA)
Had shortly headers installed in my r95 mustang not much different at all and sounds quieter.really hard install and expensive
In my experience it gives it more growl from the engine bay that you can hear on the inside
Quieter?
Nice. Thanks
Does deleting the cat get any advantage?
At one time yes but modern cats are very efficient and really don’t cost any power.
@@cjponyparts also tuning will be hard with someone without cats nowadays sadly
@@cjponyparts So nothing to gain from removing cats? LTH is the way to go then for more power? Thanks

Long tubes worked great on my '65. Driver's side was a pain on install, though. And the collector will sit very low on a stock suspension ride height.

Anyone know a set of headers that'll fit a 63 ford fairlane. Without deleting the shock towers it was originally a 221 now has a 302

I wanna put some shorty headers in my Tahoe.
Are headers CARB legal in CA?

Everyone says these will fit, on a 1964 falcon the engine compartment is an inch narrower then a 1965
Can you do a video on what ford actually did to take way 10 HP from the 2022 S550 and how to restore it?
This is a good video, but, KILL THE MUSIC NEXT TIME
so many things in this video not explained well
Headers are overated tbh and you really dont gain much noticable power verses the price of them.
Get a tune and cam so they work their best
