Thanks to June's Journey for sponsoring this video
Let me know in the comments what you think the Captains time travel device should be! I want to install it into the safe before I install it into the wall ;)

I've already been playing this game 😂. To me it's so easy. June's Journey has another game too called Pearls Peril.
Odd or planned - how June looks *exactly* like The Honourable Miss Phryne Fisher? Congrats on the sponsorship regardless :)
I don't usually play mobile games, but I'm actually gonna download this one to support the channel.
@@parrotperson ME TOO!!
I am totally addicted to June's Journey AND Pearl's Peril! Awesome games!
I think the safe should be the actual time traveling device! You have three knobs on the safe for the month ,date and year! He uses the inside of the safe to bring back all his bounty he’s collected. Great job on the safe! I LOVE it! 🥰
This is a cool idea!
Really interesting idea Robin!! Thank you💖
I think that's a good idea but what if other people mess with the dials??? Maybe a bottle ( lava lamp ) with mystical bubbles.
@@BentleyHouseMinis To go along with this thought what what if it is the inside of the safe, with dials, wires, gears, clockwork and something futury. Make it look like the workings extend further into the wall. Like the mechanism might be bigger, but what is in the safe is just the controls. Clockwork, controls, but then something super futury-looking too to look like the power source. A swirly glass bead, or something awesome imbedded in a tube of colored resin?
@@Chill1332 sounds too much like Doctor Who and his TARDIS.
I'm enchanted by this miniature safe - - THAT ACTUALLY WORKS!! It's amazing!
You are a creative genius, Ara.
My fountain of creativity for miniature inspiration.
I love your channel! ❤️
Thank you so much for being a part of my channel Darnelle! I always look forward to your comments😊
SPONSOR SPONSOR SPONSOR WOOOOO!
Whoo hoo!
This is genius. You never cease to amaze me. And congratulations on getting a sponsor. I'm really happy for you. Talent like yours should be recognized 🙂
Thank you Deborah that means a lot! So glad you liked the safe!
Genius! Would there be a large picture in front of the wall safe? One that might swing to the side on hinges.
I was thinking the same but it will depend how far the handle sticks out from the wall... if it doesn't stick out too much I might try a painting and see!
in our house, we literally have a hole in the wall with the safe inside. there is a painting hanging on a nail right above the hole. I bet you can make 2 nails on either side, and hang a painting a little larger than the hole. or, like old paintings, a thiiick ornate frame holding a smaller painting.?
So cute! I love that you made your own hinges.
In the past all hinges have been such a pain... but these were pretty easy with the beads!
@@BentleyHouseMinis now I'm going to try on doors
Loved this build! Also love the glasses are they new or a back up pair? Either way they look lovely and frame your face so nicely I wish I could pull off frames like that.
They are a back up pair lol! They are kind of painful to wear so they only come out occasionally 👓 Glad you enjoyed the video!💖
Wee idea why don’t you make a time travel 🧭 compass for the captains quarters
Very cool safe! I love that it is working
You inspire me so much and because of your videos I decide to try my own projects. The time travelling device could be a complicated globe with circles made with numbers around for dates and months and maybe some gears to look mechanical
Your awesome. I love miniatures
Thank you😊
Congrats on your first sponsor! You've officially arrived. :) I love this little safe. You always inspire me.
Aww thank you! So glad you liked the build!
I had to watch this again with a cup of coffee and no husband interrupting me to really appreciate the details that you include in this tiny treasure. It would be a blast to get a tour of your mind and how it is that you figure this stuff out. I am perfectly capable of being a copy cat but starting with an idea and following through eludes me. Thanks for another great video.
So glad you enjoyed it Pam! 😊💖
This is so cool...his time travel device could be a concrete triangle rock with in the middle is a swirl type marble looking thingama bob..lol a swirling vortex.
Captain can use a steampunk hour-glass as travel thing
I think it would be neat if the time traveling device was an hour glass, or a clock, or even a magic lantern. Another wild idea might be a magic ink, quill and scroll set. The idea is that when a time and place in history is written down on the scroll via the magic ink and magic quill, the writer opens a time door to that location. Taking the ink, quill and scroll, they can step through the doorway into any time period from their present day into the past. They can only go forward as far as the time period of their first writing on the scroll.
yo that's a pretty cool idea.. it reminded me of the shows on Netflix now.. Locke and key and Once upon a Time.
@@wanderingintime I haven't seen any of those shows, but now I will have to seek them out!
Wow love these ideas! This is going to be harder to pick one than I had imagined!😮 Thank you Loston!
Great job on that working deadbolt!
Thank you Shirin!
i had just imagined that the captain goes though time via the ship itself tbh
Could be... maybe the safe is hiding a panel that communicates with the ship?
@@BentleyHouseMinis that would be something worthy of being locked up a bit
His time travel device should be a compass or sextant, to fit the ship’s theme. I like to imagine it turns the entire ship into a time travel vessel.
(First comment here, I have been binge watching all of your videos. Thanks for your lovely work!)
Thank you for the suggestion and I am so glad to hear you are enjoying the channel! Welcome!
This is incredibly cool. Awesome sauce, your first sponsor. Great video, Ara, as usual.
Thank you Anastasia! I have had a few other sponsors ask but they never made sense with my content or weren't things I was excited about! I just love games so this was perfect lol!
Great content. So you are not only an Artist nur also an engineer 😹👏 I love June's Journey, very happy on your behalf!
Thank you!! 😊
Turned out great! Love that it is operational!
You’ve got to say this with a thick Aussie accent... “Bloody Brilliant!”
You never cease to amaze me Ara, your ideas are so unique and different!
I just love this safe, only you would be determined enough to actually make it work lol!
I would never have on my own but I’ve downloaded the game because you told me too 😃 have a great week xxx
Lol, Paula! That was my first thought, being an Aussie myself - Bloody Brilliant!🤣😂🤣😂 Love Ara's creations❣️❣️
Khazbar 😂😂😂
Either Aussie accent or Ron Weasleys accent from Harry Potter lol
Yep! Either works😂!!
Thank you for the Aussie compliment! I appreciate it so much💖 I am so glad you enjoyed the video and the safe! I love trying to get things to actually function if possible ;)
Awesome content! If I wanted to save the polymer wheel I would have snipped off the shaft and drilled out the center. Then flip the wheel over and re-glue the shaft on the flat side. The good side would then face out with little or no loss of strength. . .
Great idea for trying to save it.... I panicked a bit and grabbed paper lol! Thank you Michael!
Thank you Ara! This is epic. Congratulations on your first sponsor 👍
Thank you! 😃
oooooooo my kind of game!!!
Girl if you can get it working at Quarter Scale you will be my mini idol! lol! Maybe sizing the working parts down to paper clips would work?? I hope you like the game as much as I do!
@@BentleyHouseMinis I'm going to give 'er a whirl...probably at that scale, it would have to be a free-standing floor safe. Still, it would be very cool! I'll leave room in the library for it.
Love it!
Thank you my friend!!
This is absolutely amazing!
Brilliant!!! Love this xoxo
Thanks so much!!
Love seeing all the books and creations that your audience sends in! I think you should try to keep up the participation with some of your future projects.
Hello, this is just what I needed because I have some "gold" to keep safe ;) You solved my problem, once again. Thank You for your lovely videos. Happy Easter
That's a wonderful safe!Blessings on you and your family and friends and any livestock you might have wandering around the house!
Thank you Mary! So glad you liked it!
@@BentleyHouseMinis 🌹👩🌾🌱🙏
Congratulations for your first sponsored video! I hope this is the first of many!
The safe is amazing! Your creativity just blows my mind!!!
And about the time travelling device, how about doing something similar to Hermione's necklace? I think it was from the Prisioner of Azkaban...it looked like an hourglass...
Hello Ara, I've just got back into miniatures and have been watching your videos back to back. You are amazing! I don't know if you know this, with polymer clay bake it as normal it will be flat like you found out. All you have to do it is put fresh polymer clay on the back, shape it how you want and put it all back in the oven. :)
The Captains sextant made of moonstone, charoite and garnet . Given to him personally by Sophia Briggs, daughter of Capt. Benjamin S. Briggs, is the secret to his travels.
Crystals! I think The Captain should time travel by using crystals. Wonderful safe, so tickled it works!
I love working minis! 🖤 Maybe the traveling device is a book? Or a ship in a bottle? Maybe a conch? 📒⛵️🐚
Anyone else notice the black shadow popping up behind the bob Ross head in the Addams family house. Looks like a mini shadow person popping it's head up and down. 🤣
This safe turned out awesome 👍
and it actually works is amazing😀
Congrats on the sponser👍😀
I have always thought of the captain as some kind of Druid, Wizard, magician or something but that's just me
Time traveling compass --same one Jack Sparrow ( pirates of the Caribbean )
I really need to rewatch those movies! Was Jack Sparrow able to time travel?
No but the compass chose his direction of travel. Leads to what you most desire
Brilliant! Like your video game safe, maybe put a shelf inside. Also, that compass that someone sent you could be the time travel device and should fit in the safe. There was a TV series called Time Travelers who used a golden watch piece.
Maybe he uses a mechanical steampunk model ship for his time travelling adventures?
Love the safe and the fact that it actually works is amazing.👌
As for the time travel device I am imagining something like an armillary sphere. No idea if it can even be made but that's the first thing that came to mind 🤷♀️
I actually really like that you use paper and not polymer clay. I too have a hard time with polymer clay so I like seeing other (easier) options. Also: I need a tiny safe now!
To Bentley house minis the safe design could double as ither a music box or a jewelry or a treasure chest very neat.
A sextant would make a great time traveling object, it wouldn't be unusual for a captain to have one and wouldn't be obvious to a non traveler
I also have played June's Journey. I enjoyed it very much.
I think next time, you should use armature wire for the polymer clay. You can also use aluminum foil.
I love the safe! I'm trying to figure out how to make blinds that actually works...any tips??
Ooooh.... hmmm... I have never done that. If I come across anything I will try to send you a link. My first thought would be roman shades.... but those are not really blinds. That would be some very detailed work!
@@BentleyHouseMinis I started a set with popcicle sticks once and they had a draw string though each side so they could be drawn from either side.. but I put them aside for awhile. You got me thinking about them again. Thanks for inspiring me.
I’ve thought about this. I can use the inside of old clocks for the door handle wheel. And decor for the door.
I think he uses a watch-type thing as a time travel device. Maybe one with a chain, like hypnotists use
ILOVE it. I’m going to make one like it for my library scene
This is a great idea for the Captian quaters. You do such an amazing work.
I took a safe bet knowing you would crack this one out. Great as always Ara.
@Bad Wolf😂👍
😄😄 Nice one!
I would think that he uses a special chair to time travel in. A really elegant antique chair that he inherited from an old Aunt and had no idea what it was until one day when he wished he could go somewhere and amazingly he did. But great build, its awesome and looks so authentic.
Another interesting idea!! I love that it was inherited... maybe from a long line of time travelers! ;)
@@BentleyHouseMinis Yes, maybe some of his family used to tell him stories and he believed that they were exaggerating. Now he knows the truth. The chair has secret pockets in it, where he keeps money from different eras and items that help him blend in too.
love this! just watching how you put the sides of the box together? i dont know if i can explain this, but its stronger to put the first end inside the second piece and that second pieces other end inside the third piece etc. I dont remember why it is stronger that way, but has to do with force, lol of course.
This is so cool! I like how you used embroidery floss to create a joint.
a time travelling astrolabe type device would be pretty cool
Your hinges were a novel idea!!! I loved it!
They ended up being pretty easy to make! Thanks😊
For the time travelling device, perhaps a pocket watch :)
I think this is so cool. What does every time traveler need but a place to keep all his/her bounty? I bet he keeps his maps and logbook of all his voyages in there.
This is an amazing piece. Great job. I actually was thinking that the time "machine" should be something like a watch or special bracelet or maybe a pendant to wear on a chain.
Fun idea Wanda! Hmmmm... ;)
That's a very cool safe.. I love all the little details...
Flux capacitor, it needs to be a Flux capacitor.
What if it's a pocket watch he found on his first journey 🤔
Perfect but the hinges go on the inside so they cannot just be pried off.
This is so fantastic! Can I borrow your brain? Thanks for sharing.
Amazing, came out spectacular!!
Been playing June's journey for a few years.
Brilliant! Love the mechanism idea! Congrats on your first sponsor!!!
I think your "Time Machine" should be some kind of time keeping device such as a sundial or Antikythera type device.
A project I have had in mind is a Klepsydra (water clock). I may do that this weekend. Perhaps an inspiration for you?
I don't even know what a water clock is! I look forward to your build!
beautiful, now needs a Kitchen
Consider something like this for your time travel device
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antikythera_mechanism
Great work!
Wow that's cool!
could of did better ?....this is amazing !!...as to what might be in there, maybe a Map, Armillary Sphere, Hour Glass, Compass or Sextant....
Thank you Jill😊💖
.lI love June’s journey!..I play a lot of seek n finds..my fav type games!..your drawing is soo good!..I sound like a broken record..great job Ara!!.li love this..
Thank you so much 🤗
That looks like a left handed safe to me. 😁
How awesome and creative! Can’t wait to see it installed in the captain’s quarters. How about the Flux Capacitor from Back to the Future....it was good for a DeLorean and a steam engine train....why not your Captain’s ship☺️
Oh my goodness I thought of that too at one point! Lol! It will be tough to choose!
I LOVE June’s Journey!! Also, Pearl’s Peril! Both games have beautiful artistry and interesting storylines.
How fun to be inspired to create for your Pirate Time Traveller. Your dreams must be so interestingly weird!! I love it!
Now I have to check out Pearls Peril too! lol! You're right my dreams are super weird... but usually I can't remember the details... I just know that something weird just happened haha!
Is that Bob Ross living in the Adams house? Nice.
Love how you made the door. The moving parts look awesome. A very good safe. :}
As for a time traveling device, a watch would serve just perfectly. :}
Haha I was wondering if anyone would notice... I might start adding random things in my background for fun... why not!? You are the only one I have seen notice! Thank you!!
No drill holes in your mat! YAY! Excuse while I pick my jaw up off the floor. SO INSPIRING!
Haha yes... I learned my lesson!😄 I have done that before!
Is that a purchased fainting-couch or did you make it? My Georgian dollhouse needs a fainting couch made of household objects. Just sayin' :-)
It was a purchase a long time ago I think sorry. Hmmm... I bet the cardboard house couch could be modified into a fainting couch though... just remove one of the arms maybe🤷♀️😉 If I find another opportunity to make one I will go for it!
I have tried the game June’s Journey. It’s an ok game. I really like looking at all of the 1920’s affects in it.
My favorite games that I play on my laptop are by Alawar. There’s House of a 1,000 doors,& Stray Souls: A Dollhouse Mystery. They have tons of games but so far these are my favorites!
Wow those sounds amazing too! I will have to look them up!
Congratulations on your first sponsorship! I'm so proud of you!
Well, I guess I'm actually very happy that a company has finally noticed how amazing you are.
😊Thank you so much!!
I love playing June's Journey! I always see things I want to make in miniature. Thank you for all you do because you inspire me to make all kinds of things.
I am so glad you enjoy the game too! And thank you for the kind words💖
This safe is so cool ... I'm amazed at the working lock! Such a great idea for the Captain's time travel device ... perhaps some kind of steam punky looking clock? I love it and keeping this safe in mind for a future old bank building project! ❤
That would be so cool! Thank you Pamela!
Ara, I am so proud of the growth of your channel (and your confidence). You deserve it all. Beautiful creation as always. Keep it up!
Thank you so much FabioM!😊
I love the safe ❤️ can’t wait to see it all together
Thank you Brent!! And thank you for the awesome addition to the Captains Quarters!! ;)
I think his time travel device should be a sextant. It's what they used to navigate via the stars & he obviously wouldn't want someone to borrow it, try to navigate with it & end up in the future - hence the safe. Although, I appreciate that could be difficult to make, so perhaps an antique brass monocular or telescope?
I love the idea of it being related to typical ship navigating equipment!
What a cute idea for the Captain's Quarters. Maybe his travel item is a "special" coin????
Interesting idea!
Great video. You are so creative. If this helps at all, when you bake in polymer clay, lay it in a bed of cotton batting when curing (baking). That may keep the integrity of the shape. Hope this was helpful.
Great tip! Thank you!
Awesome safe and video!
Wow that vault is amazing. I love the tip of painting the item dark then the metallic layer, really does make it look realistic. Can't wait for more.
Glad you like it! Thank you Denise!
For the hinges. I noticed you poked holes in them to simulate the nails holding them down to the safe. If you took 4 more of those sewing pins and snipped them off very short then you could glue them into the holes you made and they would look like nail/rivet heads that would be used on a normal-sized safe. I hope that made sense.
You could also make it a free-standing safe by adding more pieces to the wall flange to create a second box around the first box, with your current flange as the safe face. I only mention that part in case someone wanted to make this nice safe but didn't have a wall to put it into and just wanted to use it as a sort of furniture piece.
Great video as always.
That definitely made sense and its a great idea! Thanks!
wow, in 140 comments, no one had a suggestion for the polymer clay wheel handle? I'm guessing the reason it flattened out on the front is you baked it face down, probably on a tile. Assuming you had shaped the front of it the way you wanted it (and didn't squash it while inserting the dowel), what you needed was something under the front that allowed it to keep its shape better. Sorry, I don't have the exact answer, but you need something that isn't hard and flat, but can be baked, so maybe a wad of foil. It also may have been helpful to make and bake the outer wheel first, then add the inner wheel, connecting pieces, and dowel and bake again. On the other hand, the paper one looks fabulous!
Thank you for the tips KatheD! When it come to polymer clay any and all are helpful!
My husband thinks the time travel device should be a sexton that the captain sets with star coordinates to navigate time. My six year old thinks the device should be a magical hat.
Haha I love both of those suggestions! I have a six yr old as well... I should has what he thinks too ;)
This is so clever the way you did this! Looks amazing too , Your so clever with your small creations 😀
Thanks so much 😊
Brilliant, as always, Ara!😃 Thank you for sharing❣️❣️
Thank you! 😊
I was inspired by you to start collecting punches myself. I found one that looks like flatware. I'm hoping to glue and shape them into flatware for my doll house because they look to scale.
Oh that sounds like a good one!
Love the safe! How ingenious is that locking mechanism! I'm so happy you have a sponsor too! I haven't played that game but now I have to download it since we share the same name! LOL!
I am so glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you enjoy the game too ;)
