I've got a 2003 6.0 and it is leaving a puddle of coolant looks to be from somewhere on the drivers side near the firewall. I can't find where it's running down anything. There will be little drips all over the undercarriage but from time to time I'll come out and have a puddle of coolant. I've had the system pressure tested and they are saying everything is good. I was told it may be cause by blow by building up pressure in the overflow tank?
Just found a leak. Possibly a #5. Coolant is getting on the outside of the driver's side frame rail, just forward of the wheel well. Looks like coolant might be dripping on top of the curved portion of the plastic fender well liner, underneath the battery or air filter, then when the coolant gets to the forward flat section of the fender liner, it gets on the frame rail and runs down the outside. This just started and left a nickle sized wet spot on the driveway. Is it possible the leak is the degas bottle and it runs down the hoses all that way? Not sure of the hose routing under the battery and air filter.

Hey boss can you shed some insight. I have a 2007 6.0 with 122k miles. Doesn't overheat at all, runs really good. Occasionally when I start it up it will blow white smoke out exhaust for maybe 5-10mins and then stop, not always though. Degas bottle is empty but no leaks that I can see from anywhere. It’s actually simple and fast...you just loosen the intake bolts, pry up the front of the intake, out with the old and in with the new. Simple and quick!!!
What's the best option if you've got a leak on a brand new blue quick disconnect coupler for the egr cooler? Can you add hose clamps on it? If I move it around ...twist it a little, will it give better results?
My lower rad hose gave out from rubbing the steering box. Had to change out in a snow storm in a Macdonalds parking lot. Worst part of the deal was buying 4gal of coolant.
Is it maybe possible that the lower dormant hose was resting on the intercooler pipes and burnt a hole in the hose? Cause I checked everywhere and can't seem to find it
Hey I know this has nothing to do with coolant leaks with what im about to say. But what are your thoughts about a " Loose " gearbox and doing alignment on them on powerstroke super duty trucks.
Them gear boxes can wear out. As long as all the front end components are tight and everythings good, youll probably have to replace the gear box to get rid of the slop. If its too far gone, doing an alignment can be a pain.
6.0, cant figure out for the life of me where it’s leaking. It’s leaking near the inner, wider, serpentine belt, but the belt then sprays out on everything, so difficult to pinpoint it. If I had to guess, it’s on the drivers side, as that’s where the majority of it sprays. Leaks out maybe 4-8 oz after it’s parked and turned off. From underneath, i can see drippage on the CAC hose and the main crank. Don’t see any hose connections leaking, at least with a flashlight and without removing anything. Any ideas?
I'm having same problem i found out that the y pipe/from DGAS bottle, that point of connection with lower hose... FYI buy ford parts Napa junk not even 6 months and multiple leaks.. so just bought all new oem the fit is so much better. Thanks Aaron

Gonna change degas bottle and cap fill and monitor. Any other advice?

No but i got a guy here now who just drove in...when u comin thru.....DETROIT
I replaced the bottle and cap, doesn’t lose coolant anymore unless I’m pulling my trailer? Not sure what it is? 2006 f250
Is it pukin out da cap. Is it all wet around there after pulling
PowerStroke Tech Talk w/ARod it was but I had the bottle and cap replaced, now it only loses coolant if I’m pulling a trailer

Get that coolant filter off that truck! More damage that good...causes issues inside the block with "scrubbing"...worth a look see.
Ill tell my co worker....he likes them. Damned if u do damned if ya dont
You forgot the donut gasket that goes on under the front passenger side of the intake. Other than that, great video!
I know not to re use them. Seen a buncha dudes get screw because of that....& u knw what u meed to do to get that out...🤦♂️
It’s actually simple and fast...you just loosen the intake bolts, pry up the front of the intake, out with the old and in with the new. Simple and quick!!!
Hey I’m having a leak around there. Where is that donut gasket located?
Passengrr frnt
What's the best option if you've got a leak on a brand new blue quick disconnect coupler for the egr cooler? Can you add hose clamps on it? If I move it around ...twist it a little, will it give better results?
No you probably scored that aluminium housing that blue hose goes to not supposed to twist it in reuse that housing
Wish I could figure out what my mystery leak is🤦♂️ Truck's been sitting for a month and a half smh
Pressure test
My lower rad hose gave out from rubbing the steering box. Had to change out in a snow storm in a Macdonalds parking lot. Worst part of the deal was buying 4gal of coolant.
Yup
Had 2 and the y connecter from 3 break all within a week
Is it maybe possible that the lower dormant hose was resting on the intercooler pipes and burnt a hole in the hose? Cause I checked everywhere and can't seem to find it
Huh
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod the lower over flow hose. I noticed my pipe is resting on it and wondered if it caused it to get a hole

@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Thanks. Hate doing alignments on trucks and vans with sloppy gearboxes
On my 08 the original steering box lasted 112k nice and tight. Im on my 3rd reman at 115k and all of them are loose

Hey, THANKS
6.0, cant figure out for the life of me where it’s leaking. It’s leaking near the inner, wider, serpentine belt, but the belt then sprays out on everything, so difficult to pinpoint it. If I had to guess, it’s on the drivers side, as that’s where the majority of it sprays. Leaks out maybe 4-8 oz after it’s parked and turned off. From underneath, i can see drippage on the CAC hose and the main crank. Don’t see any hose connections leaking, at least with a flashlight and without removing anything. Any ideas?
Lower hose...
I'm having same problem i found out that the y pipe/from DGAS bottle, that point of connection with lower hose... FYI buy ford parts Napa junk not even 6 months and multiple leaks.. so just bought all new oem the fit is so much better. Thanks Aaron
No sweat pal!!
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod have you ever seen that connection point on the front cover leak- near that 8 mm bolt or am I thinking too much into this leak? Thanks again
I have not but there is a doughnut gasket directly above that cld be seeping...

My 2003 6.0 is leaking coolant near the power steering pump. It appears to be leaking from the front cover once it’s up to temp. Fairly minor but it’s seeping.
Is the front cover gasket a bad job?
