    We discovered our water leak today… thankfully. We replaced the top half of our engine in august of 2020… almost spent 8k on it and this part was new almost 3 years ago… and has failed already. #1 was our problem. Thank you for saving our minds trying to find this in our ‘04 Ford f250 power stroke. Our truck went down the day Covid shut the US down.

    A-Rizzle,
    Can't wait to start dailying my '03. She leaks both coolant AND oil at the moment. Coolant leak is at the water pump and the oil is coming from somewhere in the valley and down the bellhousing. Hopefully I find it when I take the turbo off to clean up the unison ring area. I'm glad you're still doing 6.0L content.
    Have a good weekend my man,

    I just returned home from a trip to Southern CA to Texas and on the way developed a major leak under the dgas reservoir. Went through almost a gallon of antifreeze but made it home! Now need to replace the dgas reservoir and hoses on left side of the engine. Do you by chance know the Motorcraft part number of the heater hose that goes around the back left side of the engine so that I can hopefully replace that hose while working on the truck? thanks for the video!

    Mine rubbed on the FICM like that, but a lot of it was probably my fault because I deleted the EGR system with an ODAWGS Diesel intake and I had to splice a coolant line into it pulling it down closer to the FICM. The FICM going bad when it did probably saved my ass because when I pulled it off the hose was almost rubbed all the way through. Couple thousand more miles and I might have been stranded in a very remote area.

    I've got a 2003 6.0 and it is leaving a puddle of coolant looks to be from somewhere on the drivers side near the firewall. I can't find where it's running down anything. There will be little drips all over the undercarriage but from time to time I'll come out and have a puddle of coolant. I've had the system pressure tested and they are saying everything is good. I was told it may be cause by blow by building up pressure in the overflow tank?

    @chrisdb4278 2 роки тому +1

    Just found a leak. Possibly a #5. Coolant is getting on the outside of the driver's side frame rail, just forward of the wheel well. Looks like coolant might be dripping on top of the curved portion of the plastic fender well liner, underneath the battery or air filter, then when the coolant gets to the forward flat section of the fender liner, it gets on the frame rail and runs down the outside. This just started and left a nickle sized wet spot on the driveway. Is it possible the leak is the degas bottle and it runs down the hoses all that way? Not sure of the hose routing under the battery and air filter.

    • @chrisdb4278
      @chrisdb4278 Рік тому

      @@alberttowner4651 My leak was the degas bottle (coolant reservoir). Leaking not at the bottom hose connection like usual, but at the seam where the top is joined to the bottom portion of the container, and it was only at the seam where it faced the firewall. Found this by reaching under the reservoir when the truck had been driven a while and felt the bottom of the reservoir was wet, though no visible sign of leaks. When parked, the way the coolant drips on all the stuff below it, the puddle ended up in the location I described, as opposed to further aft like you'd think. Got a replacement degas bottle from Autozone, was not expensive, and replaced it in maybe half an hour. Note that I siphoned as much coolant as I could out of the reservoir in order to re-use it. It holds more than you'd think.

    Hey boss can you shed some insight. I have a 2007 6.0 with 122k miles. Doesn't overheat at all, runs really good. Occasionally when I start it up it will blow white smoke out exhaust for maybe 5-10mins and then stop, not always though. Degas bottle is empty but no leaks that I can see from anywhere. Gonna change degas bottle and cap fill and monitor. Any other advice?

    Hey I know this has nothing to do with coolant leaks with what im about to say. But what are your thoughts about a " Loose " gearbox and doing alignment on them on powerstroke super duty trucks.

    • @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod
      @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod  5 років тому

      Them gear boxes can wear out. As long as all the front end components are tight and everythings good, youll probably have to replace the gear box to get rid of the slop. If its too far gone, doing an alignment can be a pain.

    6.0, cant figure out for the life of me where it’s leaking. It’s leaking near the inner, wider, serpentine belt, but the belt then sprays out on everything, so difficult to pinpoint it. If I had to guess, it’s on the drivers side, as that’s where the majority of it sprays. Leaks out maybe 4-8 oz after it’s parked and turned off. From underneath, i can see drippage on the CAC hose and the main crank. Don’t see any hose connections leaking, at least with a flashlight and without removing anything. Any ideas?
