      I heard that you should designate a separate blade (if using a fine point) just for fabric just like you designate different scissor? True?

    I can’t thank you enough I bought the cricut maker and have been trying to understand how to make the face mask. I’ve been so frustrated I contacted them directly after twenty minutes on hold I was somehow disconnected. More frustration. However even though I wish your video had one opening line like click in home! That way you see all choices clicking on canvas does nothing! After more frustration finally realized my error was being on canvas versus home! I did it. After several attempts I think I’ve got it. I’ve made over 700 masks so far and donated every one. Now there will be more and I’m hoping no more shoulder pain from cutting! Thank you so much!

      Elaine this is a great question and exactly what I was thinking when I watched this video. Can I cut it with just my find point blade or do I need a Bonded Fabric blade? Definitely going to be buying a replacement fine point blade to have just in case this dulls my current blade and makes it so that I can’t have crisp cut lines anymore but that is some thing I would’ve had to do anyways and I am super excited to try may be cutting out some little eyes out of thin black fabric for some of the little crochet dolls I want to make for my daughter and possibly sell 😊❤️

    If you were to try to put a rotary blade into an explorer air would it just not work or have an error message or would it mess up the machine do you know what would happen?

    • @MakersGonnaLearn
      @MakersGonnaLearn  3 роки тому +3

      So unless you've seen a Cricut Maker it won't make much sense, but the Maker has a set of gears in clamp B, gears which intertwine with the gears on the rotary blade, the knife blade, etc. Without the gears working together the blade/tool will not do anything, it will simply not work. Good question though! No one's ever asked that before, it was fun to answer!! :)

The Cricut website has instruction on how long & how hot you need to use the press on your project. It also tells you if the vinyl needs to be pealed hot or cool. The timer feature is great, too. I will say that depending on the size you get, if you live in an older home, your lights may flicker 😅

    • @MakersGonnaLearn
      @MakersGonnaLearn  4 роки тому

      Freezer paper is like a 1sided wax paper! You heat the shiny waxy side and the wax melts and binds to the material, then it peels right off with no residue. Freezer Paper: amzn.to/3eQtUCk

    I've never used a die cutting machine but now that I get pain in my hands from very little activity, the air 2 seems right for me.
    Do you have to buy a bunch of plates and attachments to use it?
    Or do you program the design into the machine on a screen thats part of it?
    Do u have to buy ink cartridges made just for this machine, for printing a design on paper ?
    Could you print a design on fabric or Aida. To be embroidered?
    Would it copy a design from paper onto fabric ? Does it emboss card stock ?
    Thx for the video, ill probably join you group.
    One last thing. What machines best for cutting 8x8 squares of multiple pieces of fabric at once ?
    I want to make quilts with big squares or circles, than iron on nicely cut fabric appliques. Or do sunbonnet sue, or a house with trees & hills on it.
    Thanks so much

    • @MakersGonnaLearn
      @MakersGonnaLearn  3 роки тому

      You do not need a lot of materials to use it, no. The Machine is controlled by a device like a tablet, laptop, desktop, etc and there is where you can have and use your designs for the machine. The machine is a cutting machine, not a printer :) The Cricut Maker can emboss cardstock. If you want to cut fabric, the Cricut Maker is the machine for you :) Hope this helps!!

    The way it lifted while cutting, I am skeptical that you could do much useful cutting using this method. Looks like letters wouldn’t stand a chance.

    Do you have to use an ink jet printer to make things with this or just a plain printer?

    Hi can you please tell me if my circuit explore air 2 can cut peltex 72F (pellon) ?

    Ihave the Explore Air 2 and there is a bonded fabric setting so I used it with the "pink" fabric blade. Fabric crumples up from the freezer paper.....I tried the bonded felt/wool custom setting and the blade cut into my mat. I'm using a little iron at 400 degrees to adhere my freezer paper. Help!

    I tried this technique with actual felt (regular felt non Cricut brand) and its NOT cutting through, it keeps peeling and dragging the felt as it cuts, what am I doing wrong? Thank you!

    I am sure you can cut Quilt patterns. Is that so?

    • @MakersGonnaLearn
      @MakersGonnaLearn  3 роки тому

      Yes, you can with the Cricut Maker: amzn.to/2S1iFNB . It has the Adaptive Tool System which is used with the Rotary Blade to cut lots of fabrics :)

    I have an explore Air 2 and I quilt. My family bought this for me because I hate cutting. Can I use the Design studio to cut rectangles and squares (maybe some triangles) for quilts?

      Yes! definitely recommend getting the rotary blade she mentions. I had tons of issues following this video with the blade she uses on basic thin fabric.

    Can you cut crepe paper on the explore air2?

    • @MakersGonnaLearn
      @MakersGonnaLearn  3 роки тому

      You cannot, unfortunately. Crepe paper needs to be cut with the Rotary Blade which is an Adaptive Tool of the Cricut Maker.
