I'm enjoying watching your progress as you explore the ins and outs of MG restoration. Those panels look super and I agree with you that they look better than the vinyl ones and will go well with the carpeting. Can't wait to see the finished car. Keep up the good work.

A lot of work there, looks easy, but needs attention and patience
    All coming together nicely

Excellent work, fella. Really enjoying watching your rapid progress. Are you also going to do door cards? Really wish I'd shot more video as I've been doing my '69 Roadster.

Thanks Neil. I think I'll leave the door panels as they're in pretty good condition. Plus, it may be overkill if I cover those in carpet too.
I'm really rubbish at putting videos together, its all a bit haphazard, especially when I look at other people's brilliant editing and lighting. but at the same time I wanted to document the restoration and share it too. It does make me happy that people like yourself take the time to watch what I'm doing and greatly appreciate it

@@treetopspider My door cards disintegrated, and my carpets came out in handfuls. It's amazing how good these 60s and 70s cars can look despite needing lots of work!

Those are certainly not the original, panels, I remade mine from originals, have more styling to them. Used ¼” mahogany plywood, avaliable inexpensive, from Homedepot, same thickness and a lot sturdier, cutout, stained them to water proof, before recovering with the thin foam under the covering. Having a proper stapler very important.

Plywood is far better than hardboard. Great idea about waterproofing them as being a convertable theres always condensation floating about. I also like your idea about a thin layer of foam
