  • This week, we have an MGB in the shop with brakes that are making a noise other than "silent." That's never good, so apart they come. Generally speaking, every time there's a brake noise, it's a vibration that's the root cause. Whether it's a Triumph TR6 or a Jaguar XK120, if you have a noise in your braking system it's because a vibrating component is sending off REALLY annoying soundwaves. It's embarrassing in traffic, and can even have an effect on your stopping distance.
    For a lot of our British classic cars, replacing components is often as inexpensive as refurbishing them... but a lot easier. So this video is also a good tutorial if you just need to change brakes on your car.
