Very exciting to see signs of flower buds on your persimmon trees, Joe! Hopefully, you get plenty of fruit this year! I think I'm going to look into getting some persimmon trees this year, once they get re-stocked.

Great show of flower buds Joe. My Japanese Persimmon (Diospyros Red Brilliant) bought in April 2017 has not yet flowered for me, so I will be nipping out to have a look tomorrow.

Great to see the Cioccolatino producing flower buds. Interestingly they normally produce a very high percentage of male flowers, normally 80 to 90 % so it will be fascinating to see what your tree produces

Thanks Brett. It’s been several years since this tree last produced any flowers, so I’m hoping this will be the year for a decent crop. Hopefully being next to the Rojo Brillante, will mean good pollination.

Actually I had a ton of fruits on my one year in the ground Cioccolatino not sure how many male flowers I had but less than 50% given that most flowerbuds I had became fruits!
I was quite surprised to find seeds in there, but I was happy with the result! Guess the brown color comes from the seeds!
The fruits were tasting really great, very sweet!

Hi joe! How’s it going! The garden has changed so much! The greenhouse gone back of the storm. Citrus dead because of the winter but yet the garden looking sharp as ever!

Great video! Do any of the ones you have, have that rum raisin or butterscotch flavor that some American persimmons have ?

Hi Joe, is that a green snake on the tree? For a moment I thought a branch spreader but it looks like a baby snake. Yikes!
