This is exactly what I needed to see. I want to make letters to go on my grandsons’ jackets. The will look like little letterman jackets. Once I master the letters I will see what other ‘patches’ they may want on their jackets. Thanks Lori! Now to start gathering supplies!
I've never tried punch needle and after watching this I believe I will give it a try. I love everything you design, and this would be a little break from cross stitch and quilting. How you accomplish everything you do is amazing to me. Thank you Lori for another wonderful tutorial, looking forward to the next one.
Thank you so much for this series! I have wanted to try punch needle for years but I didn’t know where to start. This was eye opening and so inspiring.💗
Thank you Lori! This brought back fond memories of my Grandma doing this art many years ago. She made beautiful pictures and had them in several places in her home. Now I want to give it a try.
I have been collecting all I need for punch needle over the last 4 months. Thank you, Lori, for your demonstration and advice on techniques to get the best results.
Oh Lori, you are fantastic. I love all that you do and teaching us. I've done several of your quilts and thank you for teaching the punch needle class.
YAY, I have been waiting for this!!!!! Thank you! This is great! You always explain things so well! I love to learn from you. Yes, I totally remember coloring with crayons in the way you described! I'm excited to get the supplies and start a project.
Another great tutorial.... I am self-taught at punch needle with finer thread, but your tutorial gave me lots of tips (plus another reason to use my chunky thread collection). Looking forward to doing larger projects with your Chunky thread, and can't wait to see what the 8 new colors are going to be!!
I've been punching for 8 years. Mostly using DMC thread and Valdani thread. I like the look of yarn. I just switched to the Smart Punch instead of the Ultra Punch. So much easier on the hand. Definitely going to try yarn next. Great video!!
Omg! This is crazy! I did needle punch back in the day, just picked it up again a couple of weeks ago, my first thought was ohhh I wonder how my Lori Holt yarn would look in this❤
I love punchneedle but haven’t done it for quite awhile….. I need to go and gather my items ! Thanks for the review…. I want to try your threads and patterns!💕
I went back and watched the beginning of the camera roll after watching your entire video. Now those pics make more sense. I always wondered about punch needle. Thank you for a great introduction to this ancient art. And love that bird and the bee hive is calling to me! ❤
I enjoy hand work but have so much arthritis in my fingers that embroidery is hard! This is something that I can do! Thank you for introducing me to this!
Hi Lori. I had tried punch needle over 40 years ago, using floss. I really like the process but I was working on a teatowelq and didn't like the finished product. So I just never picked it back up. I think I would really like to try it again using the chunky thread and your weavers cloth. Thanks so much for this tutorial with all your tips. I'm excited about trying this again! Happy punching.
It reminds me of a craft thing I had as a child, called "Touch Tapestry", sort of painting by numbers with wool. It had a sharp thing (tool I mean) with two points. I still have the one that I made for my grandmother that was framed up on the wall of her house. It does look very relaxing. Thank you.
Lori, so excited to see you bringing PN back! I loved doing it many years ago and I am anxious to try it with your chunky thread. Could you please show - and with very close up camera shot - how you got the bird’s eye so nice and round. Very small circles are difficult to do nicely. Might be helpful to many. Thanks again. You rock!
I did needle punch many years ago. I love it. After moving, I’ve been able to locate some of my patterns and partial pieces of the “hoop” to needle punch on. I cannot find the rest, but I keep looking. Medical issues have kept me from diligently looking. I’m hoping that this fall and winter I will be able to dig deep and find everything else.
Thank you for this instruction, and explaining what your chunky thread size is. I have been confused by its name and how it could fit through a punch needle. Yes, I did my coloring books in the same manner once upon a time.😊
I stumbled on to Ivory Blush Roses channel containing 3 episodes full of ways to embellish rick rack. I immediately thought of yours. You and your followers won’t want to miss these ideas.
I wonder if Riley Blake could make a chart with actual small pieces of the thread. It would really help to pick your own colors for the patterns. I love the chunky threads.
Hi Lori, I have a question please - Have you ever thought of selling your Punch Needle Patterns also as a Download Purchase? I live in England and cannot get hold of this and would very much like to do it. Lovely video and looking forward to further ones to see your progress. I am currently doing a Pumpkin Embroidery but have osteoarthritis in my thumb join so it gets a bit niggly with the needle LOL - the Punch Needle looks better and I love the chicken. Thanks Lori - Linda
Love this so much! Thank you Lori for the gifts of creativity you bring to all of us. 🥰 love it so much, where can I buy the kit if there is one available to purchase online. Thanks again
Thank you for sharing this!! It seemed so intimidating you make it look easy!! I had hand surgery in the middle of June so when I'm all healed up I want to try this! Santa - I hope you are listening!! LOL
Hiw do you know how far down or up to punch? How do the loops stay even? I have never sone punch needle of any kind so I am very unfamiliar with it. It looks like a lot of fun!
My needle is cutting the weavers cloth. I purchased a new Ultra Punch needle, I’m using the large size needle on your ( Riley Blake) brand weavers cloth, with chunky thread. What do you recommend I do to avoid the needle cutting the fabric? I am an experienced needle puncher but have always used floss with an igolochkoy brand needle. I don’t know why the fabric is ripping on the needle. Any advice is appreciated!
@@rkkroeger1I bought some Monks Cloth on Amazon. Don’t get the kind at JoAnns or Hobby Lobby. The Monks cloth is working perfectly with the large Ultra Punch needle and Lori’s Chunky Thread. I’m so happy now that I’ve changed fabric. I don’t know why I couldn’t get the weavers cloth to work, but Monks cloth is a good solution for me.
@@ladonnaschwobel6575 i figured mine out. i hadn’t used the needle nosed pliers to tighten the screw. when i finally went out in the garage and found one, and tightened as far as it would go with the fabric pulled as hard as i could, then it works perfectly!! hooray!
Super! I recently got my PN out and couldn't remember how to get started. I don't have a knitting or cross stitch shop within driving distance. Will quilt shops carry your patterns and supplies? Maybe Michaels?
Would it be weird to use yarn of a different weight in the same project? And do you have a suggestion as to how to label the thread colors once you wound the thread into yarn cakes?
Do you ever apply a backing like SF 101 after you are finished punching - especially if the piece will be used as a pillow or something that may be “rubbed”? Maybe I’m rushing before the next video🤭
I got all my supplies a few weeks ago to give punch needle a try and see your new video on the craft. I have way too much yarn and figure this can help me get rid of it. 😅
Hey Dear Lady..im new here, and new at punch needle❤Thank you❤ the bird project is excellent!♥️🐦🐦🐦🎶♥️
Yay!! I’m so excited. Punch needle is like coloring with yarn.
This is exactly what I needed to see. I want to make letters to go on my grandsons’ jackets. The will look like little letterman jackets. Once I master the letters I will see what other ‘patches’ they may want on their jackets. Thanks Lori! Now to start gathering supplies!
That looks like fun. I have seen punch needle kits at my local cross stitch store, but didn’t know the process. I love the textured look of it.

How you accomplish everything you do is amazing to me. Thank you Lori for another wonderful tutorial, looking forward to the next one.
I did punch needle embroidery when I lived on Okinawa as a young girl years ago. So glad to see it coming back. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this series! I have wanted to try punch needle for years but I didn’t know where to start. This was eye opening and so inspiring.💗
Thank you for making this video. I've tried punch needle and you have taught me things I didn't know. Your design is simple but very pretty.
I am sure my husband thinks I do not need another hobby but this looks so fun!!! I really want to try that fall pattern! Hmm, my birthday is coming.
Very interesting tutorial. I will have to give this a try.
This looks fabulous I think I need to try punch needle as a little break from embroidery obsession ☺️💕
Thank you for sharing this interesting hobby. The colors of the yarn is vibrant and beautiful.
Thank you this is beautiful . something I have never tried. I will try now thank you
Thank you Lori! This brought back fond memories of my Grandma doing this art many years ago. She made beautiful pictures and had them in several places in her home. Now I want to give it a try.
I've always wanted to try this and hook Rug. Maybe now after watching your video I will give it a try !! Thank you for your videos ❤
I would like to see how you make these ready for wall art. very cute punch needle projects.
I would love to see a kit put together❤
I have been collecting all I need for punch needle over the last 4 months.

Now I want to take some of your larger cross stitch patterns and re-do them with the punch needle technique.
Beautiful...thanks ❤
Thank you so much. I’ve bought some supplies but afraid to start. I will be buying your pattern and yarns. You are a great teacher.

Great video 😊. You are an excellent teacher.
My daughter asked me to teach her needle punch but I've never done it! Now we can both learn from Lori Holt!!🎉
Yes! I did this back in the 70’s….
Very interesting 🇦🇺 Thank you

Is this like the pre cut needle punch rug kits they had back in the day?
Another creative opportunity. I have done punchneedle, find your version intriguing. What do you do with it when you are finished?
I wonder if Riley Blake could make a chart with actual small pieces of the thread. It would really help to pick your own colors for the patterns. I love the chunky threads.
Me gusta mucho el bordado con aguja mágica y este está preciosa

I love this ❤ where can i buy in the uk the wooden board youre using x
How do you get her products? Live in small town in Buffalo, Wyoming no quilt or yarn shop. Riley Blake will not let just anyone order?
Fat quarter shop…has supplies
Is there a color chart for your chunky threads. I can’t find one anywhere.

Which needle size is used for the chunky thread?
Would it be weird to use yarn of a different weight in the same project?
And do you have a suggestion as to how to label the thread colors once you wound the thread into yarn cakes?
Lori, you talked about a first video for starting. I can't find that video...
Oh my gosh…. I’m sorry you aren’t feeling well. That didn’t sound like you at all😅. I can’t wait to get started on my punch needle!
Do you ever apply a backing like SF 101 after you are finished punching - especially if the piece will be used as a pillow or something that may be “rubbed”? Maybe I’m rushing before the next video🤭
What number do you have the loop on?
Never mind-lol- just saw that part❤️
Are your patterns beginner friendly?
What size of needle?
I got all my supplies a few weeks ago to give punch needle a try and see your new video on the craft. I have way too much yarn and figure this can help me get rid of it. 😅
How can I order the punch? If you go to his site its for business.
Could you tell the ply of your yarn please
Oh I remember my mom did some punch needle back in the 70’s - yours looks way cutter to be honest
