Was until January 1997 when the tabloid, "Homeless Holly" came into view which details Holly's life more than a year after TPIR which states that she was living out of her car and received no job offers since, if any at all. When a bellboy from a ski resort in Utah saw her car and found out it was Holly, he immediately went up to the manager of the resort and he said, "Well send her over here! We can give her a job!"
@@jasoncklose I always figured that Hard Copy was considered "tabloit news" or news that's not 100% confirmed. I'm really not a fan of that talk show but my sister watches it on occasion and while in the kitchen, I easedropped on what would be the infamous "Price Is Wrong" segment where Holly was interviewed following her dismissal from TPIR and at the time, the reason of being "too old and fat" was made public. At first, I didn't want to believe it since Hard Copy had already been in a lot of big trouble from Elton John accusing them that he is HIV + and has the AIDS virus which was definitely false. Then I started noticing that Bob Barker has not mentioned Holly's name throughout 1996. Even on the 25th Anniversary special that August, not one mention on Holly or any of the past clips featuring herself along with that of Dian Parkinson was made on the air. So I assume at the time that Holly was moving on. That was until the following January where I caught wind with a tabloit from a magazine which has the headline "Homeless Holly". At the time,. I just looked at the article but didn't bother purchasing it later as I've done before and since on most magazines or newspapers and it was that moment where I couldn't ignore what I read: Unemployed, lost everything, living out of her car, etc. Since Bob never mentioned her name since the last time she was on TPIR , I wondered whether or not the Hard Copy segment was true and that it led to this? It was then that I stopped supporting TPIR despite watching it religiously. On one occasion, instead of watching it, I played my CD player to Genesis' "Guide Vocal" as if Phil Collins voice was speaking directly at Bob Barker like I was responding to him as well before leaving the room with the TV set still turned off wondering if I would ever see Holly again. During that time period, another competitive show "The View" on ABC was on the same time as TPIR and premiered around the same time as Holly's dismissal and consists of mostly former TPIR fans whom stopped watching as a result making up almost half its total lifelong devoted audience. I also heard that Holly appeared on the show only after the lawsuit was settled a decade later but never became one of the five female hosts onstage. That's too bad because Holly really did deserve better. Justice for Holly!
Holly was my favorite beauty as a child! I'm glad she's still around and well. I LOVED her smile and she could sell me anything!! That's a REAL model.😘

She refused to play the game so to speak. Good on her ! A lot of people in a situation like that probably would not react the way she did. She knew right from wrong. She was prepared to fight for it too.
I'm a long-time Holly Hallstrom fan and have a group that I created on Facebook dedicated to Holly, and I know for a fact that the lady at the end is absolutely not Holly. A close friend of hers who used to work with Holly on "The Price Is Right" has confirmed this. Holly is very reclusive today and hasn't been photographed publicly since we last saw her in 2005 in television interviews discussing her multimillion dollar settlement. You need to do some research and get your facts straight before you create and post a video like this. The photos of the lady at the end are of Jean Matthew Hall, a children's author. Another photo you showed is of another author named Patsy Clairmont. Somehow, these photos are coming up in a Google search for Holly Hallstrom. But it is definitely not her. Also, Holly was born on August 24, 1952, not August 25. And she was on "The Price Is Right" for 19 years, not 30.
Yeah, there's a lot of stuff in this video that is taken straight from online sources that are not credible. Ms. Hallstrom is entitled to her privacy and I don't really think people should be prying into her post-TPIR life. That said, she was a public figure at one time and the public portion of her life is certainly fair game. Just get it right, people...
On Wikipedia it says she was on TPIR from 1977 to 1995 which would be 18 years, not 19. Also she left the show in 1983 and came back in 1984, so i guess a total of 17 years counting her brief absence to pursue an acting career.
@@andy7889 Yes, Holly was on the show from 1977-1995. She actually auditioned for "Price" in late 1976, after original model Anitra Ford left. She taped shows in late '76, and her first airdate was January 3, 1977. So technically, it would've been close to 19 years. In the media, after Holly was fired from the show in 1995, they said 19 years. But factor in her brief absence, and yes, it was actually closer to 18.
@@JW...-oj5iw Pee Wee found his bike at the Warner Brothers Studios after learning it had been donated there to be used as a movie prop for a child actor; and that the Alamo's basement didn't exist and the fortune teller lied to him.
Holly was also my most favorite. It wasn't fair. After that as well as letting Kathleen Bradley go, I could never look at Bob the same way again. For me the most memorable models will always be Holly, Janice, Kathleen, Dian, and Gena Lee Nolan. She's totally unrecognizable as an elder. Wow.
@@twistoffate4791 According to other comments, was not/is not her in later photos, different women entirely even apparently, there are no known photos of her in recent years, so she may or may not look like she once did, can't know for sure.
TBH it actually wasn't Bob who had Jan and Kat removed, it was the new Freemantle executives who just recently bought the rights to the show that made that decision... but yes he definitely did Holly super extra bogus.
I remember this happening. She did the right thing!!! She has morale and values. Good for her! I'm glad she's doing well. Thank you for the great upload! 😊
Wow! When I watched The Price Is Right as a teen, Holly was my favorite model, and then Diane. Janice, I really didn't care much for. I had no idea all this drama was going on behind the scenes!
:40 Bob Barker NEVER encouraged any contestants to "come on down." That was the job of Rod Roddy and other announcers over the years. Considering that your channel is called Facts Verse, you get a hell of a lot of facts wrong.
Bob always was referred to you as the "star" of TpiR unlike Alex trebek who insisted on being introduced as the host. Without all the zany contestants Barker would be nothing but 3-ring circus leader!
Being a guy that always preferred brunettes... Holly was my favorite simply because she was the only “non-blonde” on the show. I thought as she matured over the years and makeup and hairstyles changed, she actually became more beautiful than when she had first appeared. In addition, she ALWAYS seemed to come across as more wholesome, engaging and personable than the other two... and her odd luck of being the model that seemed to have things go not quite to script just made her seem all the more “normal” to this viewer. She also gets kudos from me for being a hometown girl whose name became a household word for the right reasons.
I totally agree with everything you said. Holly was and is very special. I think I knew that from the first time I saw her as a small child, watching the "The Price Is Right" and being drawn to her loveliness. She was a beautiful girl when she started on the show in 1977, but she definitely blossomed into a gorgeous, mature woman as she aged. She is the most beautiful model TPIR has ever had...hands down! And her inner beauty...it just shined on the outside from within her. She was so sweet, wholesome, genuine, and funny. Such a delightful personality! I developed such a crush on her back then, and it's come back recently. Holly is the perfect woman in my book. I just hope and pray that she is doing well. By the way....the pics of the lady at the end of this video are not of Holly. She hasn't been photographed publicly since 2005, when she gave television interviews talking about her settlement in the case against Bob Barker. Besides, Holly is WAY beyond more beautiful than that lady. Not even close!
I used to enjoy watching her on the price is right. I had a slight crush on her . I never heard of all the problems she had . Yes I am glad she stuck with it . Sorry it took her whole life to get things straightened out. God Bless You Holly.
Yes I like Holly a lot I lived the bloopers, and im proud of Holly for going after bob Barker, since I was in the industry we all knew of his reputation and his trickery to beat the settlement of Holly's by the threat of continued slander so she reduced it to keep him silent...HE IS AND ALWAYS WAS A DIRTY OLD MAN....ID NEVER LET MY KIDS WATCHED THE SHOW
Since Drew Carey's taken over, would you let them watch it now and did you let them watch the short lived night time version with Doug Davidson(of Young and the Restless fame)?
Holly is Amazing and so inspirational standing in her power as a woman. Also the pictures of her now are not her. Those pictures are not Holly at the end
They are absolutely not Holly. They are pictures of two authors...Jean Matthew Hall and Patsy Clairmont. Why these photos keep coming up in a Google search for Holly is beyond me. Such misinformation being spread around. People need to do their research, check their facts, and show Holly some respect and class.
One small correction, it was Johnny Olson who was the announcer to didn't usher that phrase until the 5th contestant was called on the September 4th, 1972. For the pilot episode the first four contestants were told to "Stand Up and then come on down as you the first four contestants on the New Price Is Right." Evelyn Wong holds the honor of being the first contestant to strictly "Come on down, you're the next contestant on the price is right." 2 fun facts - it wasn't until 1973 that they started awarding both showcases to any contestant who was less than $100 ($0-99) away from the actual retail price. But, had they had this rule in place from the beginning, Paul Levine, the very showcase winner would have won both showcases. His bid was $2,500 and the actual retail price was $2,504. When they did their 40th anniversary special that aired on September 4th, 2012, they had filled the studio audience with past contestants and Paul was one of them. When you won his one bid prize and came onstage with Drew to play his pricing game, as fate would have it, he played the SAME pricing game he played on the first episode "Bonus Game" ... and both times he got all 4 answers RIGHT!
The tabloid, "Homeless Holly" was made public on January 1997 which details her whereabouts after TPIR living in a car while still seeking justice against Bob Barker.
Janice Pennington Anitra Ford Holly Hallstrom were the staple that kept that show together.. The Price is Right Bob Barker I used to think was the greatest game show ever! Bob cheated on the memory of his late wife Dorothy Jo I never watched the show ever again. The number one rule is you don't date people you work with and you don't date people they know., He Knew That!
Holly was always my favorite Barker's Beauty; Besides her being tall and drop dead gorgeous, she played the roll of clumsy/butt of the joke so well it was hard not to fall for her! It was sad that once Bob became a producer for the show around 1990 the show started to falter a bit and the light heartedness and fun they seem to have during the 80s came to an end. Holly did right by not getting involved with the Dian harassment lawsuit and refusing to take sides. Unfortunately she lost her job because of it and it took her a number of years to get her life back but, she in the end won!
I remember when this mess was in the news. I lost a lot of respect for Bob Barker after this and other problems with models on the show. Numerous people have come forward since then and have verified their stories. It turns out, Bob Barker was just a controlling azz and made many peoples lives hell during the shows run.
Ah she is back in San Antonio that is where she is from. Holly, Dian and Janice are always a part of TPIR and they can never be replaced for their combined beauty, elegance and style.
I would to see Drew Carey one day bring back the former models from the past; Janice Pennington, Anitra Ford, Holly Holstrom, etc., and have them on the show. But I think I read that Bob Barker still has quite the leverage with the show , so it may be after his death that this may happen.
I can't see one single thing Holly Hallstrom did wrong all of those years other than simply be herself. Standing on principle as she did during the Bob Barker "disgrace" only solidifies my opinion of her.
Well done Holly for standing up for yourself. Some types of men have been getting away with pre-historic attitudes to women for way too long. Thankfully that attitude is changing. You are part of the reason that attitudes are evolving. You should be proud of yourself.
Assuming what is out there is fact, Holly did the right thing. Too bad we will never know everything from everyone on this(between what happened between Bob and Holly, but also between Holly and other beauties as they had their own drama) to divide blame properly with everyone.
When men become rich and famous, they think little of anyone under them. I'd heard stories years ago , of Barker demanding sexual acts performed on him in the dressing room.
I think any time a woman can stand up to a man and in this case an employee standing up to an employer is a good thing and in this case it's a woman employee standing up to a male employer , I feel the same if it was the other way or a female to.female or male to male !! No employer has the right to treat the employee like crap
@@joeybanez310 most employees don't have that luxury. It's very one sided. The employer is going to still make money regardless of one employee. The employee is going to be left without an income and a prayer another employer hires them. America my ass. More like scaramica.
@@Jopo1226 we’re talking about California in the 70’s here. As popular as Holly was with her audience, not to mention her nationwide exposure, I’m going to wager that her opportunities were better than most.
Of course she did the right thing. When I first started learning of Bob Barker and how evil he really was, I was shocked. I had no idea. It was very disappointing. He always seemed so nice, caring and funny. I never knew he was just a big pervert who threatened everyone.
If you watch The Price Is Right with Bob Barker, you get the image Bob wants to project, but watch him on the episodes of The Match Game on You Tube, hosted by Gene Rayburn. His more real personality comes out...he seems very egotistical. And you can tell Brett Somers and Charles Nelson Reilly do NOT like him. They actually say, Bob Go Home and other stuff like that! The episodes when Charlene Tilton of the TV series Dallas is sitting next to him, he and Gene really act like bullies against her.

How about the San Antonio info? Is she really there? Has she found Pee Wee's bicycle?
Wow.
Janice was let go with Kathleen too remember, they both got screwed over.
Agreed, she is not recognizable as an elder. Barker doesn't look like his old self either. Aging is such an unforgiving taskmaster.
Thanks for watching! We're so glad you enjoyed this video. What other types of videos would you like to see?
She was always the most natural on stage, and was always my personal favorite of the Barker models. ....oh, and the prettiest too.
We feel the same way! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
1977-1995 is 18 years, but this is informative nonetheless. I believe Holly was correct in what she did.
Right. Less than 20 years is far from almost 30 years. Such idiocy makes me doubt the rest of the "facts"! 👎
I was looking for this comment. 18 years is a far cry from 30 years.
Wow! When I watched The Price Is Right as a teen, Holly was my favorite model, and then Diane. Janice, I really didn't care much for. I had no idea all this drama was going on behind the scenes!
Glad to know you learned something new about the Price is Right. Thank you for watching our content. Be on the lookout for our next video!
Yes! She did the right thing!!
I always loved Holly...she is so gorgeous.
We do too! Hopefully, she's doing okay now. What other types of videos would you like to see?
:40 Bob Barker NEVER encouraged any contestants to "come on down." That was the job of Rod Roddy and other announcers over the years. Considering that your channel is called Facts Verse, you get a hell of a lot of facts wrong.
I don't believe the accusations against Bob Barker. Just a bunch of lies to get in his wallet.
ABSOLUTELY!!! She could have simply said I don't know anything about it or I wasn't there.
Bob always was referred to you as the "star" of TpiR unlike Alex trebek who insisted on being introduced as the host. Without all the zany contestants Barker would be nothing but 3-ring circus leader!
Yes I always thought Holly was 10 times hotter then Diane was
Being a guy that always preferred brunettes...
Absolutely, she was 100 % right as rein !!!
She was my favorite and always will be.
I’m so surprised she didn’t get married. I’m sure she could of had her pick.
I think Holly did the right thing. Why should she lie to make another person look bad to the public. Shame on you Bob Barker.

I used to enjoy watching her on the price is right. I had a slight crush on her . I never heard of all the problems she had . Yes I am glad she stuck with it . Sorry it took her whole life to get things straightened out. God Bless You Holly.
good for holly for standing up to barker
Still, you could always watch Match Game reruns.
Holly was the one every mother prayed their sons would bring home to the family. Dads too.
Brings back memories! 😁
Denise Nickerson YES, Holly Hallstrom NO.
Much respect for her 💯. So glad she stood up to him. I always found him creepy even though the show was awesome. I hope I age that well🤩
Why did you find Bob Barker creepy? Wish you would have explained in your comment.
@@texasmimi5566 just a vibe I had
One small correction, it was Johnny Olson who was the announcer to didn't usher that phrase until the 5th contestant was called on the September 4th, 1972. For the pilot episode the first four contestants were told to "Stand Up and then come on down as you the first four contestants on the New Price Is Right." Evelyn Wong holds the honor of being the first contestant to strictly "Come on down, you're the next contestant on the price is right."
2 fun facts - it wasn't until 1973 that they started awarding both showcases to any contestant who was less than $100 ($0-99) away from the actual retail price.
Thank you so much for the correction! What other types of video would you like to see?

We do too. So few will stand up in that kind of situation.
Yes she did the right thing by standing up to Bob Barker.

The tabloid, "Homeless Holly" was made public on January 1997 which details her whereabouts after TPIR living in a car while still seeking justice against Bob Barker.
Sure enough she did the right thing, Standing up to a tyrant like Bob Barker and still being alive that takes guts, way to go Holly Halstrom.
as a young teen I loved the Price Is Right Jiggle show and the Hostesses and apparently Bob did as well ;)
She did the right thing protecting her coworker beautiful woman inside as well as outside glad she bounced back and is doing better now God Bless her

She wasn't going to let that old dirty bastard win the lawsuit like all the others he's won over.

Bob Barker never said “Come On Down!”
Well done Holly for standing up for yourself. Some types of men have been getting away with pre-historic attitudes to women for way too long. Thankfully that attitude is changing. You are part of the reason that attitudes are evolving. You should be proud of yourself.

That initial pixie cut, the auburn hair, fantastic figure, and the clutz factor just made her adorable.
I crushed for a while on her.
She did the right thing she has integrity and good moral judgement -its not easy sticking up for what's right!
I am a guy who stood up to a female boss for slander and won. My new boss was impressed with me who was also a female and I enjoyed working for her.
