How is it possible that I am only now learning/being taught these things? These teachings create understandings that change the courses of Eternal Lives. On one side of the veil or the other I look forward to shaking your hand in appreciation of your efforts to help me on my path to the Tree of Life.

Bryce, thank you so much for being one of the best teachers I'll ever know. The sacrifices you (& Mike & your families) make to teach people you may never meet in this life are not lost on me.
I'm a huge fan of your podcast with Mike & I try not to miss a single episode. Btw, please know if you ever want to go to a longer format, I'm willing! Lol. 😉
Seriously though, you both already go above & beyond! How blessed I am to receive so much from two perfect strangers! I can't even begin to tell you how profoundly you've impacted my understanding, deepened my testimony & changed how I relate to my Scriptures, my Father in heaven & my beloved Savior.
I can now believe with some surety that my Savior is not merely waiting to return from a distant star. No. He is here, working with His Prophets & Apostles & even with & amongst us common folk. And oh how I love Him for that! I sincerely pray that we may always recognize Him on our "road to Emmaus."
Thank you again. And please thank Mike & your families for the many hours sacrificed on my/our behalf. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! God bless & keep you & yours. And may Christ, our King, come soon. 🙏 💜 👑🌲
    💚 Amy

Beautiful. I now get removing and replacing the fig leaves. And how we cover things up. And how we need to remove and replace with the Savior’s Atonement. Sincerely thankful for your teaching!!!❤❤❤❤❤

I just found your channel, which is very enlightening.
I appreciate the symbol that when we wear our holy garments, it's like we symbolically put on the atonement of Christ.

Wow, the mention of fig leaves makes me think of the of the fig tree that was cursed by Jesus because it wasn’t bearing fruit. So abandoning what the tree was built for. No I want to look more into this connection as well

Well done. I find it interesting that in the Jewish Tradition, the Fig Tree was the Tree of Knowledge. While that may or may not be true, the imagery is instructive as the image of clothing yourself in the knowledge of the world as the covering as compared to the clothing in the animal skins that represent the atonement of Christ. The other element of the image is that Eve was persuaded to partake as "it will make you wise". The wisdom of the world is a significant tool the adversary uses to move us away from God.

Do you think that the removal and replacement of the fig leaves could be a symbol of cleansing your sins and replacing then with atone sins. The sin is still in our minds so we don't forget and do it again. The replacement of the fig is to remind us of the atonement we have experienced and we put it on again to not forget. Maybe in the future we will not need to hold on to it and we will be able to completely remove it.

Now I'm wondering why the temple endowment doesn't have us leave our fig leaves removed... 🤔 Perhaps because we cannot completely forget our past wrongs, even if God and Jesus forget, atone, etc.

REMOVE and REPLACE. Now they symbolically represent something very different.

I took it as the lamb skin is between us and the fig. So even though we still have the fig leaf on we are clothed by the lamb. It essentially would mean that we have these sins we want to hide but Christ comes between us and covers the sin. Almost like not letting it directly touch us.

This has been bothering me for years and after carefully studying, pondering and praying I still don’t understand why.

I love that you are thinking this way! I have wondered the same thing with the fig leaves if they are to only represent an attempt at hiding myself. It's a beautiful thing to want to symbolically leave those fig leaves off when symbolically seeing them that way. After thinking these same things, I began to see the symbol of the fig leaves also representing a part of my mortal condition, and that even by wearing the robes of righteousness that I put on after taking the fig leaves off (now being symbolically Temple worthy) I am still very subject to mortal conditions. The difference now though, is that I am fully aware and know that the Atonement covers me through my covenants with the Lord, and the coats of skins are and will be the closest thing to my body/covering me, and that the robes of righteousness I've just put on are right there next to the covenants I am righteously striving to live by with my best efforts to DO as I'm prompted to do, and actually be worthy of what the Temple represents (the terrestrial place I've come into in life to learn, practice, and be reminded of how to become more and more purified/celestial). Sometimes I see the fig leaves as transgressions of God's laws that I don't fully recognize within myself yet. I hope that helps to some degree. These are just my thoughts though and remember that the symbols of the Temple are best learned through individual study and personal revelation because they were also given by revelation. This video series gives GREAT insight into how to begin that journey of understanding and speaking the Lord's language of symbolism, and it's an amazing invitation Bryce has given us to continue learning about our eternal progression through that covenant language. I really do think it's a beautiful thought to have that you or I or anyone else would never want to try and hide from the Lord! We cannot, nor do I want to! Merry Christmas. God bless you and yours! ♥️

The things we learn from our mistakes & the process of turning to Jesus & letting go of our sins transfigures those meager coverings of sins into part of our priesthood power. Without those mistakes we would have remained pure but unchanged. We are here to be conformed into the image of Christ. While Christ was sinless, none of us are. We must learn through our sins to be reconciled to God. We must always remember the price paid for sin so as to not fall prey to it again. It is Ether 12:27 in symbology. Our weakness in sin becomes our strength in priesthood power when we apply Christ's loving & forgiving atonement.

I resonate with these podcasts very much. However, I understand the apron to be a symbol of our power and priesthoods (which was a part that was removed from the older dialogues), so to me, the apron is a sacred positive symbol. Please advise.

Who said his apron was a symbol of power and priesthoods? It was not anyone worth emulating.

Why would they be ashamed of the fruit ? The fruit is the plan of salvation . Better believe you can take the fruit . It isn’t real fruit . Fig leave is your agency .

My friend I know you have actually been through the endowment session in the temple so I know you can see the problem with your interpretation of the symbol that we cover ourselves with fig leaves and God replaces them with skins.
What you are saying is a beautiful way to look at it but not how it is represented in the temple.

    • @BryceDunford
      @BryceDunford Рік тому +3

I would contend that that is exactly how it is presented in the temple. The entire presentation is symbolic, not literal. And the Lord requires us to connect the dots. Remember, when Nicodemus questioned how a man could crawl back into his mother’s womb and be born again? Jesus was speaking symbolically not literally. Don’t make the same mistake. It would make no doctrinal sense to carry my personal fig leaves into the Father‘s presence. They wouldn’t belong there. But to carry the replacement into the father‘s presence, is doctrinally, correct. Therefore, I would contend that the fig leaves I put back on can’t possibly be the same fig leaves I took off.
