I love my garments. I have loved them ever since the first time they were put on me. President Nelson's words regarding the garments, the veil, and Jesus Christ, makes me love them even more. Thank you for this beautiful address.

I just listened to this a second time. Since the first time I listened my sweet companion passed away unexpectedly. I was so touched both times I've listened. Thankyou Elder Haynie! I'm do grateful for my temple covenants especially my sealing to my wonderful husband. I know Jesus loves me!
I was hit in the face the first time I went, as I was leaving the front door, with an inner voice telling me it wasnt true,. In my heart I nee it was yrue. I wrestled with the feeling for over s week. I was praying all the time about it. I humbly tell you I sudenly had a visual testament showing me it was true. I know without a shadow of s doubt that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ. The sembalizium is give is of God.
When so many are currently being casual with wearing garments, it is so good to hear "why" they are so important and what they symbolize. Not being raised in the church they were awkward for me at first. My sweet fiancee, now husband of 41 years said, "I promise if you wear them for two weeks, you will never want to be without them again." He was right.
Truly this ranks as one of the most important devotionals in BYU's history!! As another listener said, I too will listen often, take notes and share with my family. I have tried to understand and appreciate the temple more and sometimes struggle with questions of "why" regarding the it's presentation. The recent changes were very helpful and this talk takes that to the next level!! This is a keeper, one to listen to OFTEN, each time on the drive to the temple (1 hour for me) so that the concepts are fresh in my mind as I arrive. My desire to attend, learn and come out a better person have grown and deepened! Thank you Elder Haynie (hope I spelled your name right) 😊
yesterday as I set in the prayer meeting prior to our Temple work, the sister conducting stated that this talk is historic and will be taught to families, in families to children and will help SO many who may have attended the Temple and not quite understood as before.
Thank you for that beautiful talk. I have missed attending the temple for 3 years now due to severe health problems. I am now healing and able to attend church meetings. I look forward to returning to the temple. Thanks again.
This is one of the best talks about the temple and the wearing the temple garment that I have ever heard. It touched my very soul. I feel that so many members have become too relaxed in wearing the garment or they modify their garment in order to wear inappropriate clothing. Thank you so very much for this God-inspired talk!! So glad I was watching the UA-cam channel at just the right time.
I hope he speaks in general conference again too. When he spoke in April this year, it was fantastic! ua-cam.com/video/O0jTa8FG7A8/v-deo.htmlsi=G6Miomg8-uEbC8NE
Wonderful. I am so thankful I found the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. I found that there is a purpose of us being on this earth and then going back to our Heavenly Father and Savior and our families we had on earth
This was fantastic! I sent it to my 60 year old brother in law who is preparing to attend the temple for the first time and receive his endowments. I will listen to this often.
We just took our 18 year old son to see the st george temple and he had so many questions about the garments. He asked if there was a guy on the other side of the veil selling them with a cash register. It was so fun having his questions answered in the temple by the lovely attendants
What an incredibly beautiful and inspiring talk. I agree, this is one of the most IMPORTANT messages I have heard. I especially liked the quote from Pres. Nelson and Elder Haynie's follow up comments. It provides a greater understanding than we just need to do it.
Awesome talk - fun, motivational, and spiritually enlightening. I loved how he explained the reason behind things. It will make me more purpose driven when I go next.
Love all of this message. I have felt similarly inspired to teach much of the same message as I try to prepare my seminary high school seniors for the temple. God is at work amongst his saints!
Thank you for this message! For some reason, brought to my mind the hymn "Redeemer of Israel". 5th verse felt connected to thoughts about the garment placed on covenant people. "Restore, my dear Savior, The light of thy face; Thy soul-cheering comfort impart; And let the sweet longing For thy holy place Bring hope to my desolate heart." Yes, there are brief moments one might remove this protection, but as quickly as possible restore that covering. Grateful for these thoughts!
I went through the temple in 2009. Since then, there have been some significant changes to the presentation of the endowment-some of the words and phrases. However, the ordinances and covenants have not changed. Attendees are still invited to make the same promises. I think the changes are good because it makes Christ clearer. When I first went through I had heard it might be confusing because of all the symbols. I was encouraged to prepare for that. Instead, my friend and I both made an effort to focus on studying the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I can firmly say that because we went in with that focus, my original experience with the temple was just as sacred and clear as my more recent visits. The temple brings us closer to Christ and any adjustments made are to that end.
Muito obrigado por sua linda mensagem elder D. Haynie, eu a assisti muito mais cedo hoje, Templo é o meu assunto preferido. Concordo com tudo que falastes.
Why a scripture about anointed oil outside of the temple to advocate for the temple? Nothing wrong with it, but it seems like apples and oranges. Love the message and talk, just a simple question though.
So Jesus coming into His temple is meant to be a literal and not a symbolic thing? Like we can feel the print of the nails in His hands and feet as the Nephites? Or is this understood symbolically?
The phrase "Holiness to the Lord; House of the Lord" is etched into every temple. We truly believe that the temple is the House of the Lord and that the Lord visits His temples. We know that Jesus Christ appeared to His apostles in ancient days (Peter, James, John, Paul, and others) and that they testified of Him. The apostles in our day are also special witnesses of Jesus Christ. While physical appearances to gatherings of believers are reserved for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, faithful individuals can receive personal witnesses of Christ in the temple-usually through the Holy Ghost.
It CAN be a very literal thing, but it requires special preparation, perhaps an entire life of exceptional devotion to your convenants. You can read more about it in the topical guide under the names "Second Comforter" and "Jesus Christ, Second Comforter".
So grateful these devotionals are recorded so those of us not attending the university can still be edified and increase our knowledge. Wonderful!
Agreed!!!
One of the best BYU speeches ever! This is so relevant!
The temple is about making promises. Life is about keeping them.

You understood correctly. It's real and literal. Not just for other but also for me and you. Especially for me and you ❤❤❤
