      Because most members aren't theologians, and, therefore, don't dig or study enough to know. It is good that you are, because now you can go forth and teach others - ensuring future generations learn and know. :)

      I think most of this symbolism should be taught in the temple prep classes. I’d have gone into it the first time with a totally different attitude if I’d understood every thing had meaning that I could have figured out a lot sooner with some of this knowledge.

    Probate is also a term that relates to inheritance. I think it's important to remember the promised blessings through Abraham that will essentially in metaphor be given through probate, and in truth through Christ, His atonement, His priesthood, and our Heavenly Father's perfect plan and by covenant crowning in God's Holy Temples. We cannot receive any inheritance and be beneficiary of an estate except through another granting that to us. What is not ours at first is given as a gift. But we do each have our own estate and we do have choice in our estate with what we choose to do with it. And yet we are unprofitable servants because all we have in this estate really is from our loving Heavenly Father. So this has me thinking a lot. I am so grateful for grace and mercy, and repentance and forgiveness. And to have the chance to work over and over to overcome the natural man and become more and more filled with holiness. Thank you!

    Thank you again for another awesome opportunity to listen, learn, and have more ability to understand the symbols. I feel like the windows of heaven are opening to allow me to know so many things that have just puzzled me or I have just taken as "words" and not feeling the love and meaning I should as I read. You just are opening my mind to do as President Nelson has urged us - Think Celestial. Your words and insight bring the ability to think celestial much more often. As I go to the temple this week as a patron, and as I go next week to serve as an ordinance worker, the whole endowment will be like a whole new experience. I also know that the Initiatory will again be helping me understand things better from your sharing of these lessons. You are blessing many lives. All those with whom I have shared these with love them.

    I've suffered with toxic perfectionism for most of my life. I'm in my fifth year of therapy for CPTSD and finally im starting to understand this probationary state - our mortality. This explanation touched the harsh inner critic in my head and shushed her kindly but firmly, such a relief.
    I wasn't prepared for my first temple experience and was left confused and bewildered. I wrnt completely inactive for decades as a result. Only after a mind-blowing reactivation event did i begin the struggle to regain s grasp on the iron rod.
    Your explanations have helped me so much. Symbols in the Temple that went completely over my head are now making sense. Thank you so much! There is nothing quite so exciting as finding your knowledge and understanding of what is truly important in life (Jesus Christ and His gospel, the scriptures and how symbols work), growing and deepening. It changes lives.

      If that were not the case, then the work for the dead would not work. They have to have a probationary estate in the spirit world. It would not be fair to judge them by their mortal life, when the gospel was not presented to them.

      Brother Dunford, will you expound on Alma 34:32 in light of the boundaries of our probationary period? I guess Ive always looked at those boundaries being our mortal life based on this scripture, and that those who died without the opportunity would have it in the spirit world.

    I always knew this. It is taught very plainly . You can’t be resurrected until you come to earth get a body . Chose good over evil . Be out of Gods presence . This was all planned it is called the fall. We planned the creation the fall and the atonement . I so agree at birth we partook of the tree of life . This is such great teachings . The only thing I don’t agree with is that they partook before they should have . If you look and read more carefully in all the accounts you will see that Eve was never commanded to not partake of the tree of knowledge of good and evil . Only Adam . I only learned and saw that this very year. Read all the accounts . All three of them. Eve was never commanded not to partake only Adam. I totally agree we agreed to make mistakes . We were granted a place to make mistakes. We agreed to make mistakes when we were born . We agreed to that . Wonderful video .

      Just for clarification. You said our probationary state is between birth and resurrection. I was taught and learned it is between our birth and the end of the millennium, when we stand before God and have final judgement. Can you clarify?

    • @BryceDunford
      @BryceDunford 10 місяців тому +2

      Everyone is resurrected with either a celestial body, a terrestrial, body, or a Telestial body. That would suggest that the judgment has been made as to your eternal glory. There seems to be little change that occurs after that. There may be growth and advancement, but why would I be resurrected with one type of body, if there’s a significant chance that that is not my kingdom of glory? All of that needs to be worked out before my resurrection. Take Abraham, for example. He was resurrected with Christ. D&C 132:29 says that he has entered into the celestial kingdom already. He is not waiting for the final judgment at the end of the millennium.

    I'm enjoying your insights. For the sake of clarity: By what textual criteria do you determine any given scripture character to be in disobedience to God?
    When you say that Lehi¹ mentions Zenos in 1 Nephi 5, did you mean explicitly, or implicitly?
    Sidenote: It was Antionah who asked 6:42's question; not Zeezrom.🙏🏻🕊️

    My brother in Christ,
    Thank you for sharing words of life. There is much more light available in the account of Cheribum ( which of course is plural cherubs ) and their assignments " to keep the way of the tree of life "
    There are those who have seen " the flaming sword ". This flaming sword is real, and still functions in order to complete it's task. When you comprehend the fullness of this account you will be astonished at the brilliance of the great Jehovah. When
    Jesus filled His mortal mission....He did not expound on the account of the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the garden of Eden. He simply said " I am the light of the world ". , He also said " I am the light that shineth in the darkness and the darkness comprehendeth it not ". When we learn to understand the language of the Spirit ...the eyes of our understanding will open and we will clearly see the powerful truths in that brief, and simple account. Without the gift that Jehovah gave mankind on that momentous occasion......
    We have much more to be thankful for the Son of Man than we slow witted children are even aware. Few there be that know. The only way is through the administration of the great Holy Spirit.

    What do you mean by that?
    Can you elaborate on that?

    • @talkingscripture
      @talkingscripture  9 місяців тому +1

      Probably not on a UA-cam chat. The answer is in the presentation of the endowment. Let me use a modern example to illustrate what I believe was the situation in Eden: every single person today is still under the command to multiply and replenish the earth, but they are not doing so because there’s another commandment that forbids the act that would allow them to obey that commandment. But no one has a problem with that contradiction, because everyone knows that in time that act that is forbidden will no longer be forbidden. And then they will be free to obey the command to multiply and replenish the earth. I would suggest that that was the same situation in the garden. The command to not partake of the fruit was a temporary command pending further information, but they partook before that information was given.

    I still have a question why Heavenly Father told Adam and Eve that He forbade them to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil while actually, He wanted them to eat it. Why didn't He say, "You have a choice - you can eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and die, OR you can not eat of the tree and then you'll stay in your current state forever. You choose." It seems unlike God to forbid us to do something that He actually wants us to do. How is that different from giving us commandments and then hoping we break them. It doesn't make sense.

    • @BryceDunford
      @BryceDunford 10 місяців тому +2

      It wasn’t time. Listen carefully. He was going to go away and then come back and give them from further instructions. Also pay attention to how Satan reacts when he is punished for doing something that someone else did, but that someone else doesn’t appear to have gotten punished. Wouldn’t that suggest that ultimately the plan was to give it to them?
      Think about the similarities that everyone else has right now who are single and have still been commanded to multiply and replenish the earth. But to do so they would have to break another commandment. No one has a problem with that because we all know it’s a timing issue. Eventually, that act would not be forbidden like it is when you’re single.

    • @elizabethblackwell3093
      @elizabethblackwell3093 10 місяців тому

      Thank you so much! I remember you said in your presentation that it wasn't time and I didn't understand that. That makes sense of why Heavenly Father said, "Remember that I forbid it." For years I have wondered why He forbade it and still hoped they would do it. Now I'm wondering what would be different at a later time, but I guess we won't know that. You have answered a question I have had for many years. Thank you.

    Did He destroy those in the flood to stop them from going too far, so they would have the opportunity to try again in the spirit world before their mortal minds and bodies took them too far into the "abyss" where their souls could no longer be saved? Or something along those lines of mercy? Or maybe they had to go to spirit world, learn and be literally re born in THIS new world with new knowledge? Have they been re scattered among others who were know are also scattered on this Earth as this world seems to have many many many different peoples, traditions,tongues ect. almost as though many worlds have been scattered and mixed together from many different "worlds" per say. And placed together to be gathered together as one kind of like the vineyard
