I shoot SK & Lapua. I would clean that barrel with a bronze brush with an aggressive solvent, & then stay away from copper washed / copper clad ammo. Clean with two wet patches every 50 shots 😊
I had better hopes for the SK 😢 So your Ruger is picky! 😂 I have a few that are also. Can't wait for the rest of the series!! This was very interesting. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
This stock barrel did not have any super impressive groups with any of the ammo. All pretty much only Minute of Squirrel. Please keep eye out for part 2.. My KIDD Budget Build 10/22 does a much better job
Seems that the group sizes on the targets show to a degree the inconsistency of perhaps that particular pencil barrel 10/22 rather than which ammo is better or worse as none of the ammo really looked like it was stacking the shots on the poi in relation to the poa. Even on the KYL with the group sizes of all of the ammo on target when you got down to the KYL 3/4" and smaller targets with the way all the ammo was shooting regardless of brand or ammo speed it was just as much luck as precision as to where the bullet ended up in relation to the POA and whether a hit was scored or not on the smaller targets.
I agree I could not get decent groups out of any of this ammo in this gun. Test was just to see if upgrading ammo would help tighten up groups. For the Stock Barrel... It was a total bust. I expected at least one to someone group. BUt nope. It did not seem to like any of the ammo I had on hand. So It will have to stick to being a Squirrel Gun cause best I got out of it was minute of Squirrel. Which is fine for a Hunting gun. Just not good choice of NRL22. Only use if it is the only gun you have but do not expect to win. Not a good choice if you are going out to buy to start with. Way better choiced out there right now in the very budget area that are better suited for a little more money than 10/22. At the time I started 10/22 It was all I had and did not have the money to go buy a gun just for shooting matches. SO I used it and had fun doing it. Then Upgraded a piece at a time until I got the gun put together that is in Part 2 of this series.
Hard to believe the standard plus didn't do better! Nice showing with the match22! Rifle Match looks to be what I get out of it.
Overall very poor performance for the Stock Ruger. I did not feel any ammo I had on hand did well at all in it.
@damingrail3655 I did rifle match vs Aguila Standard Velocity with the 597and both went from 1.5 to .38! It was entertaining, to say the least!😅

Damin. Very good video. Interesting ammo comparisons. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thanks Editing Part 2 right now. Same ammo different gun Results may surprise you.
@@damingrail3655 Thanks, I will be very interested to see that. Take care.
