RIP Professor Salem Assli. He was a phenomenal martial artist and just recently I bought his whole video series from Panther Productions on DVD. Initially, many years ago I bought a couple of old Panther Productions VHS on Savate and I can say that as a karateka savate has influenced my kicking skills. I first read an article on Savate in a June 1987 Black Belt magazine issue. Daniel Duby and Paul Vunak demonstrated the fighting techniques in that article. However, 20 years prior Black Belt magazine initially published an article on Savate.
Sometimes we don't realize how important some moments in history are. It's so important that when we have recording devices we gathered as much information as possible. Now we won't have the opportunity to have anymore.
... lisez le et sachez le : de tous les Full Instructeurs qui m'est été permis de connaitre, Salem ASSLI est vraiment talentueux et le plus sympathique de tous !... signé : Richard FOUCRET

Nice technics but easy to show and repeat... A bit more difficult : find exercices to integrate it into realistic situations (opposition) ; because, to my mind, in this video, this way is like playing tennis without ball :(
@@Allen2saint . I will totally agree with you. So many people today think that reality cannot have any grace, that it must be crude and unrefined. I beg to differ, perfection of technique under pressure is the ultimate goal!
Salem was an amazing kicker in his prime and an outstanding teacher. He will be missed and fondly remembered. May he rest in peace.
So good memories of the seminar
He was an outstanding kicker even later on in life. In this video he must have been in his mid 40's.
Thanks for sharing this. Savate finest techniques.
Enchanté de les regarder.
Merci beaucoup.

Hello from Savate Club Practical Tactical in Calgary Ab, Canada!
Hi there, I'm sorry not to have seen your message until now.
Pugilistica all good. I am sure your very busy in the UK!
It's not meant to be an instructional video, but rather a short video clip showing a little of what went on during the seminar.

I’m sure Lethwei and Thai Boxing won’t be in any danger of falling prey to being ineffective any time soon.
For as long as they stay very basic and not change into any kind of no contact combat sport. Like it happened to karate-do.

ProPerf TV And your basic instructional video to first term practitioners is where?
If you can’t identify his expert movement by watching this video, then you’re clearly not a judge of what’s effective in a realistic situation.
