Ok I'll do it! I've resumed my regular sessions - so I'll give it another week or two before I get the camera out and film an update. But here is a sneak peak - my back is better (not great, but much better) and tooth pain has pretty much disappeared (but because the pain was in a new spot, I've booked a dentist visit in for next week just in case there is work needed).

@@LightTherapyInsiders Hi Alex, love your channel! One of the things I’ve noticed though is you always talk about how powerful a panel is. Often making it seem that the more powerful it is the better it is. Research has shown that this is not true. I know you have talked with Andrew from GembaRed and he also agrees that the new panels are too powerful and are not using the optimum lens angle. I can’t help but wonder how many people are overdosing and not receiving the true benefits of red light therapy. Just wanted to pass on my thoughts, thanks again for all you do. Best, Lori

@@loriwysocki4203 Hey, I missed this comment until now. Yeah it's something I'm looking it and will be covering in future topics. When I first started in this space the panels were quite under-powered compared to todays panels. So when new products were released I was always impressed by the new power readings. Now though I think we've got to a point (maybe even beyond) where there is more than enough power in them.
I'm working through the science on dosing etc and plan on coming out with some content on this topic :)

I have the 2nd generation Joov panel. After 2.5 years it stopped working which is incredibly disappointing. They told me I could ship it back at my expense and they would look at it and tell me how much it costs for the repair. I spent $1400 on it. I went ahead and ordered the MitoPro 1500 based on your recommendation and I can’t wait to get. I will never purchase a Joov product which in my opinion is a lot of marketing and hype at a premium price. I literally cannot live without a panel. The improvements it has made to my skin, joints, pain and overall health is well worth every penny. Thanks for all your videos and all that you do!

So I have been using panels for 7 weeks and a light torch and light Pad (wrap) for over 6 months. What stands out the most is the pain relief from the torch is much faster for smaller areas. The initial focus was tennis elbow. At mid 50's I battled it many times and it would normally take weeks using an elbow wrap and reduced activity to eliminate the pain. The key was to not overuse it. (Alex has explained the diaphasic effect) Once pain gone (only took days to feel better and a few weeks to be completely gone) I would use once or twice a week for maintenance after that.
The one thing that concerns me with your experience is pain coming back after not using it. Not sure I would get a panel if that was the case. If used the way you and others have explained, exciting the mitochondria would be part of a healing process that would last long term. Like my Tennis elbow pain is gone. Not using the Torch anymore but using the panels which don't really target if even touch the elbow at 6-12" unless I stand sideways. Maybe the systemic still helps?
After a lot of research, I purchased the Mitored panels. Three to cover whole body for myself and 6' tall kids. It has only been 7 weeks but I can say the improvement in sleep was immediate. By doing everyday I started noticing detoxing (face T zone lite up) So I backed off to 3-4 days a week. Didn't notice much in skin improvement (face) until i used some moisturizer afterwards. These panels are very powerful and the face starts heat up fast. I have been experimenting with different distances so not much to report on yet. If closer, the red light gets deeper so I started at 6" for 7 minutes and then back up to 18 for another 5. Trying the best of both worlds that short time and short distance gets deep and longer time less power for more overall systemic. Do that for front then back - 3 times a week. Alternating days I try 5 minutes on my sides. Which I think would hit some organs a little more and I seem to detox more on those days. Providing in case this helps others in their journey but to also mention I have experienced long term solutions using different forms of redlight.
Thanks for your informative research. Looking forward to hear your follow up.

This is such an awesome comment! Thank you!!
And this is how RLT should be used - experiment, take note of changes, make adjustments, think about what could be happening etc. So well done.
I do often think that maybe the 'optimal' RLT approach is what you have discovered - high powered, very targeted treatment for acute injuries (ie, your torch with the elbow). And more of a general treatment for the body. Being sure not to over do it on the dosage but also the frequency.
I did recently write this comment which covers some of your points as well so I will leave it here:
Though I do have some thoughts on this which I will cover in my follow up video. Pretty much when I look at my two main pain points - my back and my teeth - both of them are not 'wounds' or issues that can simply heal. The back is a structural/movement issue - which requires either surgery or ongoing mobility/movement work. The light seems to help with the pain - especially when my back was aggrevated.
The tooth - well there are two issues here. One is the sensitive/receding gums - again this is something that can't 'heal' or 'regrow' on it's own. I have to either use a chemical laden paste to help with the pain, get surgery (though my case isn't bad enough for that) or just live with it. The light helps eliminate the pain so I can eat and drink normally, and don't need to use the pastes etc.
The other tooth pain is unusual - as it's a new issue. I was wondering if it needs a filling - so I booked a dental visit for next week. But do you know whats funny, it's been two weeks now since I've been back using RLT and that pain has pretty much disappeared. So now I'm super curious to see what the dentist says. because if there is a hole there - then maybe i wouldn't' know about it because the RLT masked it. And if there is no hole or no issues there - then maybe there was a problem but RLT has helped repair it?? IDK. Stay tuned though I'll post a follow up video in a few weeks time :)

Using a teaspoon is enough, When finished with oil pulling don't spit it out but swallow the oil it has incredible benefits.

I guess you could say the same for people who have failed stem cell injections. If you don't fix the underlying structural imbalances, and work on correcting biomechanics, even if you use regenerative practices, the joint will again wear out. Same with inflammation. If you don't address diet, sleep and contact with nature, inflammation will not go away permanently.

This video is making me rethink using red light therapy. It sounds like the red light just numbs body pain but doesn't actually fix it. Why would we want to become "addicted" to any therapy that is being sought for self-inflicted things like, improper form in exercises or over exposure to the sun? I am glad this angle was explored, and will try my best to not become reliant on it for improper form, as I often hurt myself by over working my arms. I need to find a good trainer who will work into a routine for me all the proper form.

I assumed this is why I began my regimen in the first place. I thought it quite reasonable that my body went back to the lack of stimulation. Your findings may have nothing to do with RT, maybe just your body crying out for some TLC. (?)

I'd rather have the RLT for more cell energy, improved attitude, reduced pain to do better workouts, better oxygenation of everything including the brain, improved health, better skin, etc. Maybe his strength and endurance improvements using RLT put more stress on the muscles and joints and THAT is what he is feeling. As a lifetime weight lifter since age 12 (I'm 68 now),, I gave up the very heavy dead lifts 600+lbs, squats 550+lbs and bench presses 375+lbs 20 years ago because I began to see changes in joint and ligament pain that was worse if I continued at those levels. I'm in this for the long term health benefits, not trying to prove how strong I can get. Unlike some of my weight lifting and running friends that had several injuries, I DON'T need knee replacement surgery, hip replacement, back surgery, shoulder surgery, etc. I think the benefits of RLT far out weigh any negatives, and that includes pain relief because life is a pain. And yes Alex, a follow up would be very good.

    • @LightTherapyInsiders
      @LightTherapyInsiders  Рік тому

Hey. Yeah there could be some truth to what you said. I know that the back issue is a mechanical issue (some imbalances through the hip etc) and something I've been dealing with for 10 years now. Likewise with the tooth pain - one of the issues is from a high receding gum on one tooth. I'm not sure what caused this but dentists have told me there is nothing I can do about it so I have to deal with the pain - they recommend using a sensitive chemical laden tooth paste. The RLT is a much more 'safer' option.

This video seems to indicate that RLT is just a temporary solution (or covers up symptoms such as pain) and does not really resolve root cause to prevent re-occurrence. That's fine if accurate (so people can get temporary relief anyways) but it's disappointing that there is limited or no long term healing with RLT for chronic conditions. Perhaps some conditions achieve more long term healing such as scars, improves immune system, possibly speed up healing etc.. but chronic conditions would not achieve long term benefit from what I can tell. A video on which conditions are improved/masked temporarily versus which conditions have longer term benefit would be welcomed. Still a good tool to have IR in your health arsenal but it's not a silver bullet. Thanks for the videos, transparency and education as usual.

      Hey.
Yes it is an interesting result.
I will make a clarification in my follow up video that the main 'pain points' I have (my lower back and teeth) are issues that probably need surgery to remedy. So the RLT is great at helping to manage these issues without surgery.
Here is a comment I posted that may help explain this in more detail (until my follow up video is out)
Yes it is a good point.

Alex, this was a good study. I would like to ask you what I think is an important question. Do you think/ do you know if using RLT has ONLY provided pain relief, somehow suppressed the pain receptors while under that the underlying issues are still there and getting worse? I know we have pain receptors to tell us when we need to attend to the parts of the body, but if we use RLT and do not get the normal danger signaling and we keep going, not addressing the core issue of the problems, then would you determine that RLT is not really a healing modality, but just a pain suppressor? How can we really know? and... it sounds like once you use these panels you must use them for the rest of your life, actual healing does not occur? I'm curious what you think. Thank you

    • @LightTherapyInsiders
      @LightTherapyInsiders  8 місяців тому

Hey. If you check out my answers to other questions, you will see my detailed response to your question. But in a nutshell - the issues I have require surgery to fix. So I don't expect RLT to cure them.

Do you clench? Your hygiene might be A+ but if you clench it’s like you working out your muscles. Your teeth and gums will feel sore. Basically you are flexing jaw muscles for extended period of time. Are you stressed? People who grind you see it on their teeth but people who clench it will show up as soreness. Maybe the IRT was easing your stress and helped you stop clenching? Just a thought. Cheers

@@LightTherapyInsiders it could be brushing too hard. Try using your non dominant hand to brush unless you have an electric brush. Gum recession can also be caused by clenching or grinding as well. The stress from the pressure may contribute to it. Grinding usually happens at night but clenching can happen during sleep and during the day. I’m am no dentist just have worked in all specialties chair side. You can bring it up to your dentist and ask for professional advise. We have a patients that wear a mouth guard day and night. That might be overkill for you just try to be conscious and keep your jaw relaxed. I practice keeping my tongue to the roof my mouth and relax my jaw. It helps.

I have to place it upper part of my body and then do my lower part of my body, then turn around and use upper back and then lower portion.

I'm getting a red light tabletop device, but consider that I can add a panel later. What should I do?

Buy a panel from the same company and make sure it has modular support.

Hey, thats a good question - I'll have to do a video on it. In the meantime check this out - ua-cam.com/video/M6HrEJALT18/v-deo.html - I hope you find it interesting :)
But any panel with a decent amount of red and NIR light should help with pain.

You can't attribute everything that's come on to just red light therapy. You also haven't been exercising your muscles as much as they were used to. I did red light therapy for many years then moved to somewhere where it wasn't available. I did notice changes but nothing as significant as yours and I have fibromyalgia.

Yes this is a good point and I need to mention that in my follow up video.
I stopped training over the holidays - so this is a big variable. I also stopped doing my mobility work - so this could have contributed to the back pain as well.

Sounds like body is becoming dependent on red light. Maybe even loosing its ability to heal and recover naturally.

@@LightTherapyInsiders thank I did watch it and that video makes my opinion even firmer. I believe any intense stimulation from outside manipulation or substance changes us. We adopt to anything good or bad. And then we mutate.
