    Description: #redlighttherapy #joovv #photobiomodulation
    Red and Near Infrared light therapy (photobiomodulation) has been researched for decades and there are thousands of studies which prove its diverse health benefits.
    For most of the past 50 years, lasers were the primary source of photobiomodulation therapy. These lasers were not only expensive, but they could also only target a small part of the body at a time, making full body treatments impossible.
    Fortunately, LED’s have recently been found to provide the same photobiomodulatory effects as lasers but with more treatment options. Thanks to the effectiveness and affordability of LED’s we now have companies, such as Joovv, who make red light therapy at home a possibility with their consumer devices such as the Joovv Mini and Go.

    Thanks for the review. Just a warning for those looking to purchase the Joovv Go. My battery failed after 12 months use and is now pretty useless as a portable device. It was just out of warranty and the Joovv team were not accommodating even though the device was my second Joovv purchase. Their after sales service could certainly be improved.

      I've read on other sites about the same problem with them. Seems once you made a purchase, you're on your own..and no warranty whatsoever. Almost like a scam outfit where they just want to make as much money as possible and then disappear when the complaints get too great.

    An excellent scientific explanation of wavelengths, dosage and comparison. Curious why you warn about eye exposure (makes sense) when the interviews I’ve heard from the 2 creators of Joovv and another expert on red light therapy said the light actually benefits eyes. Hoping to get some clarification soon.

    What wattage of the device is necessary then? I’ve seen many devices all saying they are 660nm RED & 850nm NIR, however wattage ranges from 45w to 1500 w (since they are LED I imagine that’s the output equivalent not actual wattage used Bc that would be an enormous power bill). Do you have advice ?

    • @barefootstrength
      @barefootstrength  3 роки тому +4

      This is something I will definitely look into.
      From the research I have gathered thus far, it seems that the eyes could benefit through indirect exposure via the 'bystander effect.'
      So, by shining the RLT device on the face, but protecting direct light into the pupils, one could still receive a benefit in the eye.

    • @barefootstrength

      It is definitely better to use both red and NIR light. Reason being is because with multiple light frequencies, you are able to capture multiple layers of skin and other tissue at the same time.

    or which one of them will be the best for the neck area ?

    • @barefootstrength
      @barefootstrength  3 роки тому

      Both the mini and go devices would be able to target the neck area. The mini uses both red and NIR light frequencies which can target the deep and superficial layers of the neck effectively. However, if you opt for the ‘Go’ models, then make sure to select the NIR version, as only this light frequency will be able penetrate deep into the tissues of the neck.

  • @shirasezan
    @shirasezan 3 роки тому +1

    thanks. is NIR and infrared is the same thing ?

    • @barefootstrength
      @barefootstrength  3 роки тому

      NIR stands for ‘Near Infrared.’ This is the band of light with a wavelength of 850nm used by Joovv. NIR is invisible to the eyes.... unlike the RED one which can be seen. Learn more here: ua-cam.com/video/2HyigKLHteQ/v-deo.html

      I have the mask. I like it, but as he noted results are not immediate. You more so will notice how effective your skincare routine is when used with it.
      I almost returned my device, because I was rounding the 30 day return window and I hadnt noticed anything. I wasnt doing my regular routine with it, because I wanted to see how it worked on its own. After I gave up, I went back to my Korean skincare routine. I noticed when I did it after the mask, the products absorbed better and worked much better (mind you they were good already).
      I also used it a couple times with my ZIIP (which I'm too lazy to use consistently lol) but it appeared to enhance those results as well.

      Since we believe in the science behind Red Light Therapy, and are satisfied with the products that Joovv are producing in this space, it makes sense to produce a review of the technology.
      And because we feel this way about red light therapy and Joovv, why wouldn’t we join their affiliate program? After all, how else would we be able to have the budget for the production of these videos?

      It’s actually pretty complex. Many mistake these lights as regular red coloured bulbs. However, it’s actually more sophisticated than that. The bulbs need to emit an exact frequency for them to be effective. The lenses In front of the bulbs must focus the light so that they can converge and magnify the rays at a certain treatment distance. The bulbs must be powerful enough to ensure a successful treatment. The device shouldn’t emit a lot of EMF... and the list goes on. There is tonnes of research and development that goes into these devices.
