CSX and Hunter Harrison would never allow something like this now. Such as restoring 614 in Clifton Forge to operation and running excursions on CSX. I hope NS continues to allow 611 to use its tracks in the future. I heard that next year VMT is working with Amtrak to run 611 and they want to go farther to more cities to run excursions sort of like 1982-1994. NS sold five red coaches because they were deemed surplus and they weren’t Amtrak certified. They’ll probably rent other coaches next year to make up for the loss of the NS ones.
That was a Great Trip I was on the Train in the FEC Coach. I Had A Video Of It Going By The Airport But It Was On The Other Channel and It Got Terrminated same with my GSMR 1702 Videos I did During Her 75th Birthday Special
I rode the Charlotte Trip. I was in the Florida East Coast St. Augustine.

Maybe one day 611 will get to do mainline runs again but who knows when this steam ban will be lifed.
There is no steam ban, just expensive insurance prices and an unwillingness by Amtrak to do excursions of any sort off their usual routes.
