I'd forgotten how boring these pressers were. Gene displays the same enthusiasm on every topic, i.e. none. It's fine to be "down" after firing someone but even while he was addressing the other sports programs, he came across as though he was at a funeral.
Only time you can blame players is if he's had top top top recruits come in he doesn't have that. So that means he had to really coach and bring out the best in guys. He couldn't do that it showed
I see it as the extension of coaching...say what you want about B Knight but his players were disciplined and primarily didn't turn the ball over again and again like this team did...never saw improvement

I blame the players more than Chris...they are lazy players.
