Okaeri hayabusa! Wow, have you seen how small the Earth is from far away? Travelling through space for serveral years and still being able to come home. Nice achievement for Japan and the humanity! I hope the capsule contains new insights on the workings of the universe. I love what science can do!
Hayabusa, you behaved like a small child: being missing for more than a month, failing landing on the asteroid, and having broken engines. But you were also a smart boy who listened to parents well (i.e. scientists), and solved the problems one by one. There was only a slight chance that you could come back to our mother earth but you've made it with having a wonderful souvenir after 7 years of solitude journey. Now you no longer exist but I'll never forget about you. Welcome home, Hayabusa!
it is stuff like this i always miss. at least one day i got to see the Space Shuttle Discovery do a fly by once, but other than that i never have ever seen anything else like satellites or meteoroids, etc. that would have been neat to see that in person. thanks for sharing/
Hayabusa accomplished great deeds in being the first to bring back sample material from an astral body beyond the earth's gravitational field at the expense of his life.
@leloodallasmultipass this was a mission to extract samples from an asteroid 1 billion miles away from earth which took 10 years or so and finally returning today. There be news on the findings next week when its taken back to japan for examination.
I watched... C-Beams!... glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gates. All those moments will be lost ... in time, like ... tears .... in the rain. Time to die.

@adrienspawn He says "It was scattered and burnt away so beautiflly and gracefully, like cherry blossoms falling."
Awesome video!

@PlanetDonald
Don't say "goodbye" to hayabusa. Maybe one day we will meet again.
I gotta say that was beautiful...i really wish i could c that some day....
Very interesting and cool shot.

Hayabusa accomplished great deeds in being the first to bring back sample material from an astral body beyond the earth's gravitational field at the expense of his life.
It's wonderful!
so, do we know what we are, from that capsule?

that's beautiful
I was actually expecting to see Ryu Hayabusa =)
@shadowsneak3434 It was a space probe not a meteorite. They knew where it was going to be because they told it to be there.
@DCItaly27 It was a Japanese probe.
Welcome back Hayabusa !!!
just so beautiful
@paulobeckerrb26dett Yes, the white dot was the part meant to remain intact (which it did)
Thank you NASA, thank you JAXA.
hayabusa, thanks for seven years of dreams...
I'm surprised nobody uploaded this as "UFO FIRES FLARES" or something.
phenomenal
thank you hayabusa!!!

I thought Hayabusa was an armor permutation in Halo 3 but I am obviously wrong.
It says "hayabusa." I was expecting to see a freakin motorcycle fall out of the sky.
Awesome!!!
I watched... C-Beams!... glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gates. All those moments will be lost ... in time, like ... tears .... in the rain.
Time to die.
awesome!
Was it supposed to break up like that?
