For real if he ends up jumping to Returnal at some point he has played everything I have wanted him to play. He's exceedingly consistent with his game picks.
Most definitely. I just want to see him play Returnal, Prey, The Talos Principle, The Witness, Obra Dinn, and the Plague Tale games and he'll have played every game that I want him to play haha.
Understatement. It's an indie gem for sure. Masterpiece might be a bit of an exxageration but the initial card gameplay definitely hit the spots for me on top of the atmosphere, style, sound design, story, horrory and meta elements.
Oh boy, I did not expect this one but hey, this will be fun time, you will love the mysteries this game has to offer, all I am saying is - Take your time, don't rush to finish the game and try to explore everything possible
"It's a card game. Interesting" When I bought this game I knew nothing about it other than I saw it on a list of games that would blow you away if you weren't spoiled. My reaction was "I just bought a card game? I don't play card games... should I refund?" But of course I loved it.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one Dying in the first battle by doing the worst possible plays was a tiny bit painful to watch, but failiure is the best teacher, which is most certainly true with this game
Oh man, this channel really has seriously no chill when it comes to ending a great playthrough and going straight to another great game haha. Thanks to the Patrons for the recommendations so far!
i once used teo sacrifice events to put the soul of the black goat and the eternal cockroach into the black cat, making for an infinitely sacrificeable, endlessly returning black cat that gave me three blood whenever i needed. It was pretty OP, I'm not going to lie
Ooooh, nice, Inscryption! I waited a long time to play this game myself, finally decided to play it last year because I've heard so many positive reviews from friends... At first I thought this would be too macabre for my tastes, but it uses narration/plot twists so well it kept me interested until the end. Definitely not your typical cards game, this one asks to think outside the box (quite literally)!
I played this game last year - easily a quality game and I was so happily surprised to see this pop up in my feed! I can't wait for you to dive into the secrets here!
OMG yes! YES! I've been binch watching your channel for 8 months (16 full let's plays) and thanks to you I've played Death Stranding, which is now a personal favourite of mine! And you just keep up with amazing content! You are *by far* my favourite Let's Player! And I've seen a lot of channels over the past 10 years! Keep on keeping on!
This is a pleasant surprise! I got through a big chunk of Inscryption myself, but hit a wall at a certain point and couldn't really proceed anymore. I've also never really done well with horror/suspenseful games, which ultimately made me set it aside, so experiencing it through one of my favorite channels is probably the next best thing. Hope you like it and I'm curious to see how it goes too! Also forgot to mention one of the reasons I was interested in it is because it gives me big Yugioh Season 0 vibes! Ultimately it was just a little too creepy for me though.
A bit of tips: Thin the deck, the less cards you have, the more chance you'll draw the needed card. Get up the table often, observe the surroundings, you are basically in a escape room cabin, find secrets, some will give new cards, and some are for progression. The game is trial and error, learn from mistakes and form a strategy. Remember that you got items, use them wisely, and only when needed. Pelts can't be sacrificed, but they make good blockers, and if they die they aren't removed after the game, so don't worry when you play them. Take your time, it's made to be relaxing, you ARE in a cabin in the woods playing a simple card game with immersive music after all. Beware the Fish Hook.
Hi, if you're new to Map's channel he doesn't like spoilers, backseating, or tips, except in rare occasions of grievous misunderstanding. That being said, he also plays games at the very least over a week in advance (for Patreon subscribers' 7-day early access) so most of these tips aren't helpful anymore. Sit back and enjoy the playthrough :)
I think you're the first playthrough I've seen to actually stop and look up the skink and ant sigils to solve the drawer puzzles! I'm so pleased. So many people just brute force it and it's annoying! What's the fun in just bashing it until it works? Anyway, I would not have thought to see this game on your channel! Looking forward to it. This has been very fun so far.
I was about to comment that too. Good to see someone thinking the same. When i saw him actually put time in looking up what the sigils meant to solve the puzzles i was surprised and happy. Many people just tried to brute force it to no avail and some just gave up without even considering looking up the sigils.
Yeah, I'm kind of 50/50 as to whether I'm interested in some of the recent games he played, which is a shame as they tend to last a long time. Having a few shorter games in the mix would likely increase the chance of watching more series. Obviously its up to Mapo as to what he wants to play, but mixing in a short game with the longer ones would provide greater range and number of games played..
YEAAAAAAAAAAAH this is a game I've really been wanting to watch you play, I completely have neglected to check patreon for awhile, so this was a great surprise to see
I just started playing this game on my own. So excited to watch your play through while I also tackle it. Hopefully your play through can help me on the parts I’m stuck on 😅. This will be fun!!
OMG i just woke up and saw this NO WAY DUDE - THIS GAME WILL BLOW YOUR MIND! I’m so so so excited ❤❤❤ this was like the best thing I could’ve woken up to lmao Btw stoat pronounced like boat
if you like the map structure of Inscryption (and Cult of the Lamb to an extent), I'd heartily recommend Slay the Spire, which was clearly an influence on Inscryption's maps. Slay the Spire also inspired Peglin's maps, if you've ever played that.
Wow, the other day I was thinking "Oh, I hope that Mapo will play Inscryption someday, would be fun to watch." Well, here we are... this should be good.
OMG Inscryption let's GOOO :DD I was gonna write more as it went on, but I got sucked in xD It's such a great game and your opponent is an awesome 'Dungeon Master' indeed! You did really well on your first boss actually, it took me a few tries to get it right. There are still so many secrets to uncover in this game and I cannot wait to see you play the rest of it :D
This game is fantastic and breaks the 4rth wall so badly, that Deadpool would cry. However, the ARG is no longer doable. So when you beat the game, you can react to Matpat's Game theory. He did a trilogy that covers the whole ARG game.
oooh this gonna be fun! its got quite a bit to it, though definitely gonna be lots of misplays as you learn >< for example you can just attack flying units, you only need something like the frog to block them damaging you directly >
59:20 squirl is not in danger. Ant will kill the Sparrow, so this turn you deal 2 and take 2 damage. Next turn, even if no cards are played by you, you deal 3 and take 2 damage. Sacrifising ant this turn was not good
Just played 2hrs myself and stopped. Loved the card game, love the vibes - roguelikes just aren’t for me. Do not have the patience. Super happy instead to experience the game vicariously through one of my favourite Let’s Players! Looking forward to this, Mapo
That second surrender: if you had left all the same cards on the table and continued, you would have won. This is why he surrendered.
Im consistently shocked by how mapo plays all of my favorite games
For real if he ends up jumping to Returnal at some point he has played everything I have wanted him to play. He's exceedingly consistent with his game picks.
Right? If he plays Obra Dinn and The Witness he will have hit all my modern indie favorites.
Most definitely. I just want to see him play Returnal, Prey, The Talos Principle, The Witness, Obra Dinn, and the Plague Tale games and he'll have played every game that I want him to play haha.
@@dandyprime5338 I would LOVE a Talos Principle playthrough!
and that's why I now use this channel to populate my wishlist
Ooh, an unexpected treat. I played this a lot a while back. It's certainly very interesting, hope you enjoy.
Understatement. It's an indie gem for sure. Masterpiece might be a bit of an exxageration but the initial card gameplay definitely hit the spots for me on top of the atmosphere, style, sound design, story, horrory and meta elements.
@@DamianSzajnowskihonestly lorewise and everything I'd dare say it's definitely a masterpiece, artwise too, very lovely game
Oh boy, I did not expect this one but hey, this will be fun time, you will love the mysteries this game has to offer, all I am saying is - Take your time, don't rush to finish the game and try to explore everything possible
ah, this series' gonna be great with mapo playing it

Was it on Reddit? I think I saw the same one.
@@ninjaguyYT I believe it was a UA-cam video
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
Dying in the first battle by doing the worst possible plays was a tiny bit painful to watch, but failiure is the best teacher, which is most certainly true with this game
1:18 Have you heard the tale of the Flying Uyarooooliiiiiii!?- Some crazy man probably.
THE FLYING UYAROOOOOOLIIIII!
I like how the 3 rares you get offered are obvious nods the the "Timmy, Johnny, and Spike" method of categorizing cars game players
I literally bought this game one week ago from the pack and had a blast, nice to see a playthough from you.
I also have a blind playthough, didn't watch any video before and just sorta forgot about it.
Oh man, this channel really has seriously no chill when it comes to ending a great playthrough and going straight to another great game haha. Thanks to the Patrons for the recommendations so far!

this is one the best game ever made in last 10 years. It reminds you what is a "game" is.

Also the day 1 custom art intro is pristine
Mapo is playing Inscyption? OMG cannot wait. This is such an amazing game.
It's always fun watching you start a new series and waiting to see what the new custom intro is going to be like. This one did not disappoint!
Tip: you can place a squirrel to absorb a creature's attack.
I found mapo like 3 days ago and he somehow managed to have every single game I like either played or is currently playing. Incredible youtuber fr
Not just a Devolver game, a Daniel Mullins game, strap in for some weirdness :D

Yes! Incription, incredible! ❤
Now that was an intro honestly, cool adaptation to the series.
Right at the top of the video, dropping a like for that beautiful intro for the game. Definitely going to enjoy this playthrough!
Love this game so much, can't wait to see your full playthrough
Oh boy didn't see this one coming. Awesome eye mapo
This game was so much fun to play through for the first time
I'm in the middle of playing this and it's a ride. Not often that a game completely surprises me.
I absolutely love this game and I know I’m gonna love watching you play it
Finally, the perfect game for your intro

Word of advice: click on EVERYTHING in the cabin. You never know what you'll find...
You’re in for surprises and delights aplenty.
The goat is a Dark Ritual
I am so stocked for this.
You're the type of Let's Player I'd love to watch playing Gloomhaven for PC.
Well here's something I didn't know I needed
This is gonna be great, the game takes some really wild twists and turns.
No spoilers let's go! I'm excited.
omg.. this is an absolute gem of a game :D so happy you are playing it^^
I played this the first time yesterday. I was surprised to hear Tyler (aliensrock here on UA-cam) at the beginning of the game
Had such fun with this game when I played it way back 😁
Oh damn, Mapo playing another awesome game!
Oh my god banger after banger! Looking forward to this series.
ohh so excited for this one!
Oof! Mistakes were made (a lot!)
but i'm here for it !
Holy shit i am so hyped, this game is honestly a joy to play and the story is so fucking good... i hope you enjoy this cuz i sure as hell did lol
