This is sooo cool dude. I can only imagine what that must feel like, jamming with your crewmates in a gigantic fucking arena like that. And get paid for it too?? You are quite literally living the dream, my friend. Thank you for sharing a little taste of it with us!
The dream also includes waking up before everyone else, being there as a support the whole time and pack up after the show when the band is already long gone. Not really a dream. Roadies and techs work unhealthy hours. Not really a dream job.
Sounds like a dream@@dowal199
@@dowal199 Some dream jobs include hard work
@@dowal199personally I love me some alone time after any social event. Sounds like a dream to me
If it is your dream too, work as hard as you can to live it!
24:48. That moment when the kit cuts through the house system....goosebumps. So much power.
As a former drum tech myself, I'm so grateful for this! Thanks Matt, I've learned so much and remembered great gigs doing this stressful, painful, not sleeping, tiring but AWESOME job! You got yourself a new fan down here in Guatemala!
Man you are a legend.
As a person who’s currently a backliner and who’s dreaming about being a touring drum tech, i can say that your videos are sooo inspiring and well made!
Thank you so much for your service champ🫡
Wow!! Outstanding commitment and follow through!!! Enjoyed every min. What a selection of pies too!!! I'm a fan!!!
Bro, thank you so much for this content, every time when I wanna chill and have a nice time I’m watching your amazing work!
I'm a FOH engineer and I Love these clips man. Hopefully I can be working in arenas one day. I also have it on my list to learn how to change drum heads and do maintenance because I deal with backline every so often and my sound company owns 4 drum kits so knowing the ins and outs would be beneficial. I know the setup and tear down but not so much the maintenance end of it. keep it up man, love it!
Thanks for the sharing this video. Always enjoy watching your videos and really really appreciate to my drum tech and staff work together with myself!
I'm glad you uploaded this! A lot of people when they go to concerts don't really take to account the magicians that set up the show and help make sure everything works out
Great video!
People always tell me these are glamorous jobs, I'm glad this video is here so I can show them exactly how amazing it is to be in rock 'n' roll behind the scenes :-) nothing says excitement like drum sound check :-)
Yup...and lots of hard honest work....Good ol fashion hard day of honest work but in the music industry. Much love and mad respect to all involved in this line of work. A+++
Gigs as a tech are pretty great tbh. I wouldn't call life on the road glamorous (until you hit the level Matt's @)
@@ChugLifePodcast right my point is that it's a job and it's hard work and you aren't partying with the band enjoying the highlife etc. etc. I was accused of this many times by people who want to hang out with the band, and think as a promoter i just make a call, order up an act and then party. instead of making 90 minute round trips to the professional hairdresser store because somebody's hair dryer is on 220
Absolutely
Please like the video, and follow me on IG to stay up to date with tour life and video updates! Thank you!
Fantastic content mate!!! ❤️❤️
I tried search you up on IG but cant find you?
Absolutely love the content, man! Always excited to see another notification of yours pop up on my phone.
When the lights go out before you perform... and the crowd cheers... I've had that lucky experience when I jammed at the Aztec Theater in San Antonio a few months back... man... it was a rush and very exciting. Awesome content man! LOVE IT!!!
Thanks to you guys I tried out the remo p4 clears on top and power control dots on the bottom on my mapex Saturn kit and it’s completely transformed that kits sound. No moon jels or anything and it has a super punchy tone with little to no unwanted resonance. I’ve been on team Evans for years but this remo combination is 🔥🔥
it's so cool to see a setup at a venue that I've been to a million and a half times. I love this video for just how raww and unedited it is and provides amazing insight to the love care and dedication that goes into making a show happen
i love see this videos while im working, i use to be a drum tech on my locals and see these level of work its really glad and inspiring
Super neat seeing these drum tech POV videos! Definitely gives some insight in respect to the team involved in making these shows possible. Really cool man!
Thank you, algorithm! What an awesome channel. Thanks for taking us along, nice chops! Cheers from Australia.
Love this! Thanks brother for all you do.
Bro as a drummer, this is really cool. As soon as I saw the finish on the snare and tom, I thought to myself, "that looks alot like luke hollands drums...and then you pulled out all the cymbals and I was like no fucking way. Luke is one of my fav drummers, this is fucking badass!! He has one of the most beautiful kits I've ever seen
Loving the videos, It's not easy to catch somebody's attention watching a video of almost an hour and thinking it's been only 10mins. We need more! lol Also It's funny you spend way more work and time on the practice kit than the actual kit. Of course the main one is basically set up but still funny.
It's really cool watching your videos, Matt. Please keep posting them.

This is my new favorite channel, I’ve always loved watching behind the scenes stuff and the way you film with the chest rig instead of just holding the camera makes it really enjoyable
great video as always! love seeing this side of things 👍🏼
What's crazy to me is how a non mainstream band at this level can still be bringing in enough money to pay this much crew and gear and etc
I mean they are pretty mainstream though
Also helps the drummer he techs for is youtube famous and prob makes a shit ton of money on his own to afford all the help
I’m a geez (71 1/2) so until this, I never heard of him or them. But that’s no surprise really. Do enjoy the crap out of this though. Gotta pull em up and give a listen.
Falling in Reverse, Luke Holland is currently their drummer.
Non mainstream? You talking about falling in reverse?
If so they are mainstream and one of the most popular bands at the moment.
You earned yourself a sub these POV vids are fascinating for us drummers.. keep it up!
Fascinating for guitar players too 🤘 🎸
Fascinating for people that dont play anything too (like me!)
Yeah but he works for actual pro drummers, not mom's basement drummers

Kudos! much appreiciation and awe to you stage professionals!
This dude is living the dream, so many kids dream of doing something like this. It reminds me of the TPB when Bubbles gets to be the guitar tech for Rush.
The second I saw those drums I realized you're the drum tech for Luke Holland of Falling In Reverse!! Incredible, dude
You didn't mention the set list?😊
Always so stoked to see these pop up. Can't wait!!

Going for 6k! Thanks for making this. There's a lot of work in this video and I thank you for this. Also, the band is one of my fav's so these combined is so cool.
As a drummer I can only dream of a tech, setting up the kit for me. Again, thank you
what band is it?

Another great one! I was wondering if it would be interesting to see some more of the road and maybe what happens after you pack up the last truck, do you guys hang out and grab a meal at all or just straight to where you're staying?
This might maybe sound more fun to watch than what it actually is and I get that you might not want to film every single hour of your day. Just a thought! Keep it up!
ドラムやってる者からするとこれは更に憧れを強くする映像でした、こんな感じなんだワクワクしちゃうね
bro this is so sick knowing that you were in my hometown!!!!! keep doing what your doing. loving the channel.
Cool video! Thanks for showing the heavy work that’s required to be done on a backstage of a big show! Keep it up!

First time seeing your videos with this one. As a rock/metal concert lover going to 20-30 shows a year for 20+ years, this was very cool to see. Watched it all the way through on my 75” tv. Thanks!

loving these videos my dude!
this is awesome. It amazes me how you can fit so much stuff into such small containers in such a time effective way.
imagine getting to watch drummers like luke from right behind him as part of your job? thats so sick man
I enjoy the hell out of these videos. You’re going to inspire me to unpack my little cafe kit and play again. Thanks!
Dude, what are you waiting for? Bust the kit out and go to town!
Great content man. Just earned yourself a new subscriber. Keep it up!
I’ve never seen this before. Fascinating, and a lot of work!
Apart from being a good drum technician, you also play very well!

This is so awesome 🤙🏾🤙🏾

we're gonna have a music festival here in the PH, your videos were useful and I'm going to apply it as a drummer without a tech. ❤
Pwede po ba mag apply haha

@@denzellucero3391 parang gusto ko nalang maging tech pag pinapanood ko to si Matt hahaha kaso di ako marunong din 😂
I would like to hear your story on how you become a drum technician. It would be awesome.
dude you're a real one for illuminating the steps with your phone light ANND getting the fist bump as well holy smokes. subbed
this made my day
So being a drummer and an LD, I’ve always wanted to combine doing the two. A few midi triggers might be necessary but still. GOALS! Is your LD running on an MA3 or MA2?
This is so weird - everytime im watching you making sure everything is tight i feel nervous like i am going on stage soon :D
That first hit on the drums when the band goes on would be so nerve wracking!
I get that too! I have no idea what its coming from
well he gets to do a run through so that will help. no reason for anything to fall apart after that@@bellum128
This is amazing.
That kit is just bloody gorgeous.
Hi Matt, been watching all of your recent videos, they are absolutely awsome! Just having a quick question for you: is Luke using an upgraded shaft for his double pedal? Seems like it was not the original one from the box. Thank you!!
Luke uses a mix of the 9000 XF series and the upgraded shaft of the MFG Chain Drive Double Pedal
@@jensjan3860 thanks so much!
Thank you to all those people whose names no one knows, who are never seen on stage, being in the crowd of spectators, but who do a great job so that our favorite bands can go on stage and perform a show this evening
work as a broadcast engineer, see often Crews setting up in my arena. Love that perspective! Your meticulous work and how you place everything at the right place, make sure everything is tight and secure, that guy knows his job!!
great work Matt!
I fucking love these videos I feel like I learn something new ever time.
In Bloom for sound check. Nice! I like your variations.
Thanks for sharing this. Hope to see you on the road sometime.
This is such a sick job
makes me so happy that this video is doing so well, congrats bro !
Thanks man, It blows my mind
God, that kit is GORGEOUS!
Was already stoked to watch then saw you're at the Moda! I'm a local and love that place. It was where I saw my first concert at 7 (lol, NSYNC). I dream of being able to play it one day. This was a really cool perspective.
Now rounded up to 19.000 subscribers... Congratulations ❣🤘🍾🎉
Wow what a day! You sir are living the dream.
I love these clips Matt. I saw the show in Phoenix it was amazing.
So cool and mad respect! The attention to detail and taking care of the gear is a chore for sure, I bet. Thanks for sharing!
Need to see a deep dive on what's in your toolcase next!!
Still such a gorgeous kit!
