Honestly as much as I love his growls there's a reason this was my favorite Album. And one of those reasons is Corey's voice, I honestly wish we got more of this style.

As great as his raw screams of pure agony were, they took a toll, and doing them nowadays would be the end of his vocal chords, so I understand why he had to change them to more technical and carefully performed growls.

In response to the whereabout of the concert: this is from the 2004 TMF-awards in Antwerp, Belgium. TMF used to be a MTV-like channel in the Netherlands and Belgium and held an annually music awardsshow in both countries. But this was meant for mainstream acts, hence the lame crowd. I guess Slipknot just got too big and was forced to play it by RR (I think it was Corey who referred to it in an interview a couple of months ago). Slipknot happened to be on tour with Slayer at the time and they played this show on a day off in between gigs in Rotterdam and Antwerp. Btw, they also played Duality. Look it up, great performance as well, very tight!

Not only were the masks great for all reasons (looks scary, lil' easier to breath in, etc.) but the movements of everyone involved seemed less energetic, which reminds me of puppets and adds to the scare. Also, this performance was literally made for the song, so it had to be good, and being Slipknot, they delivered. This is probably the best live performance I've ever seen.
I love the death masks cause it really slows down the pace of everyone. Corey has stated multiple times that their normal masks allow them to run wild freely, so to have a mask that is just a perfect replica of your face it does the exact opposite. it refirms the idea that this is you now. I don't think I explained that very well, but you get what I mean.

That was one of the only bad performances I have seen of slipknot. Jim was doing fuck all at Mick's solo and to be honest Paul and joey were the only consistent ones on stage. Only from what I could hear though
Coreys vocals sound best here than the whole vol 3 era, Corey said with the regular mask it was hard to get the mic up to his mouth good so it changes how his vocals sounded now we see how it could’ve sounded.
