We need an anthem for Joey. Snuff became Paul's anthem because it was the last single that was released before he died, but more importantly it was because it was Paul's favourite Slipknot song as well. I'm too heart broken to think of one right now. Slipknot and more importantly Joey were absolutely pivotal in my life. I would not be where i am right now and i would not have met my girlfriend of nearly 20 years and i would not have my 2 daughters if it wasn't for Joey personally. I literally owe him my life and now he's gone and i will never be able to see him again. I'm devastated! I love you Joey. I miss you so much already.

@@liamhammett2683 Back in around 2000/2001, Joey was in a band called The Rejects - which became Murderdolls after getting rid of the singer, Dizzy.
I did an interview with Dizzy for my website. My girlfriend was a huge Slipknot and Joey fan, as was I and we met on the message forum of The Rejects website.
The first time i met joey personally was when the Murderdolls came to the UK for the first time for a signing to promote Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls. Joey signed my drum sticks. I told him i was the guy who did that specific interview with Dizzy and he thanked me for not printing all of it (Dizzy told me about some messed up things him and Joey had done and i didn't want to publish it).
Anyway... i stuck around until the end of the signing so we can chat about drummers, and music in general. I think the next time i saw him after that was at a festival called called Download. He played for Metallica. I didn't speak to him though because it was a huge festival in the first place, and he had to quickly learn/remember Metallica songs so i didn't want to disturb him.
I still find it crazy that we didn't even meet through Joey being in Slipknot, but from him being in an obscure band called The Rejects who only had one single song completed at the time!

Paul's death hit Joey the hardest. Joey and Paul were best friends and they wrote 99% of Slipknot's songs together. Also, Joey took more drugs than Paul, and when Paul died he realised that it could have been him instead. In fact, knowing Joey, he probably thought that it *should* have been him instead!

That's why I fucking love Slipknot. They can have you going on a rampage, or they can have you crying your way to dehydration. These guys are so special and unique. Paul was an amazing and very talented man, so may he rest in peace. This has to be the saddest tribute ever. I try to hold back the tears, but, like the rest of you, I broke down when Joey hugged the suit. I also started chanting with the audience at the end of the song. "Paul Grey! Paul Grey! Paul Grey!" He will be sorely missed.

From what I know Joey has transverse myelitis or something like that so I don't think he could have continued playing
@@Firstlast-qt8gn But how come he’s playing with others bands now? I know he’s playing in a band with the former bassist from DragonForce, but he could of taken a break or a hiatus from the band to sort himself out maybe
@@Luke_Person1234 he was playing with other bands but he's not the drummer he was in his younger days and his stage presence all but flatlined. im not a doctor so i cant give a diagnosis of how his condition will play out but you dont just bounce back to peak form like its nothing, but from the way he described it im just glad he can still walk
Paul and Joey are reunited with each other now. RIP #1 and #2
