I really wish people would stop parroting this, "We're not a democracy, we're a republic" bullshit, and maybe think about it for a minute.
"Democracy" and "republic" are not mutually exclusive, hence the term "democratic republic." If a country's leaders are elected by the citizens of a country, that's a democracy. When people can vote on proposed law, as they can in some states, that's democracy. When Lincoln said, ". . .that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth,” I doubt that there were any know-it-alls saying, "Hey, we're not a democracy, we're a republic!" The *_elected_* representatives in our representative democratic republic keep referring to our democracy because that's what it is; being a constitutional republic doesn't change that.

Got some news for you, if you watch any hearings from Capitol Hill you know that evading questions is the #1 goal and sport. Most witnesses CYA for the simplest of questions. "Question, if you were to stare at the sun for 30 minutes on a bright sunny day with no clouds with your eyes wide open, no glasses or goggles to block out any of the suns rays and no blinking of your eyelids, would you lose your eyesight?" "I'm sorry Senator, I am not a ophthalmologist and not an expert so I can't answer."

The more and more I watch these hearings, I'm getting a bit freaked out by the people sitting behind the people (senators and the ones under investigation) and have those numb, zombie-like expression on their face and eyes. And sometimes they even move their lips in synchronicity with the person who speaks. What is this?!

Look at the chyron. The hearing is on security of federal buildings! Hawley decided his time was better spent lecturing a witness, because he knew Forbes and others would put it on UA-cam.
Try walking into any federal facility with a camera and everyone becomes a tyrant who tells you there is a law that says you can’t be there when actually the laws states that you can record in all publicly accessible areas. UA-cam is full of videos of people being kicked out of federal facilities.
The same for state and city level.
People are motivated by incentives. If the consequence were loss of their job, pension, and jail time for violation of the constitution you will see things begin to change.

It was a great loss to Missouri when he was elected to the US Senate because he was such a great Attorney General of Missouri. Josh Hawley would be a great US Attorney General at some point in the not to distant future. Actually got someone to answer a question clearly.
My daughter has an autoimmune disease that is destroying her body, it WILL end up killing her without regular tests, doctor care, and medication. She's in Chicago, she doesn't qualify for Medicaid because she works so she's not considered "disabled". Why are we getting turned away everywhere we try to get her help but illegals get help?! WHY!?
