- Yep, you read it right, you can get reimbursed a check to improve your Missouri land for wildlife. In today's episode we are going to cover the Missouri Wildlife Watering pond cost share program, how it works and the details of it. But if you are new to the channel and would like to catch the 3 part mini series of me building this pond here are the links:

This wildlife pond project is a cost share project, which means the state of Missouri will be paying us $500 to complete this wildlife improvement project, aka wildlife pond, to benefit the wildlife in an area that no other permanent watering sources exist. But it has to be built according to the specifications of the USDA wildlife pond requirements. Thanks for joining me today if you'd like to catch the next episode or two and then the pond filling follow up videos please hit the like button, subscribe to the channel and hit the bell icon to get notifications of this mini project as well as all of our ongoing land management projects, land improvement projects, food plots, wildlife improvement projects, our DIY Missouri home rehab projects, our outdoor exploring adventures and much more country living from our new Missouri farm! #kapperoutdoorsmissouri #kapperoutdoors2 #wildlife #wildlifeconservation #wildlifeplanet #wildlifepond
I'm sure this video will benefit other land owners and all types of wildlife 👌
First!! LOL Happy belated Thanksgiving all!!
Love your videos. Keep up the great info.
Great info Kapper, thanks for sharing
Great info, thanks Kap!
This is a great video with lots of great info. One thing though, lots of people fear that getting a grant or benefit from the government means the conservation department can access your property any time they want and you have to allow the public to hunt and/ or fish on your land, depending on the type of grant it is for. I think there was a time the conservation department would help stock your pond with fish but then you had to allow some access to the public, something like that. But that was years ago. Not sure what the requirements are now, if any.
Yeah, them days are mostly long Gone with these programs, but I totally understand the apprehension. There are absolutely no requirements whatsoever with a program like this. The only requirement is that you maintain the property improvement for 5 years, which is kind of a no brainer, but no, there's no public access whatsoever.
Happy Thanksgiving Kapper🦃🦃🦃
Thanks I hope you had a good turkey day! Cold down here next few days.. brrrrr
The Watering Hole sounds more like a paid program instead of cost share. You didn't pay any additional out of pocket money did you? I've done both and the paid programs are fairly nice although they usually are a few hundred dollars at most. Cost share covers a whole lot more but like your TSI/land clearing you have to put in a decent part of the money yourself for the program. So Paid Programs and Cost Share---both nice but different when it comes to out of pocket investment.
.
I am late also Happy Thanksgiving to all.....
Thank you sir. Hope all is well on the farm down South!
